      It is REALLY nice to have someone so smart be empathetic and kind. Sometimes such intelligence comes with arrogance or a lack of empathy for some reason, definitely not the case with you, absolutely perfect for dealing with medical patients and people having a hard time. I'd LOVE to have you as my doc if I got into trouble.@@YorkCardiology

    this doctor is correct in every way, i thought i had bad acid reflux and indigestion, i had this for 3 days on and off, i even at one point called a ambulance , they did a ecg on me, and said my heart looked fine, they wonted me to go into hospital for bloods, i decided not to, thinking it was just heartburn, a day later i drove to hospital at 4am in the morning, had ecg done again, they found nothing, i had to wait for bloods to come back, and it was a good job i did, i had been having a heart attack for 3 days on and off, i was admitted into hospital, 3 days later i had heart surgery Stint, 2 Artery blockages , 1 part blocked and the other completly blocked, i got to go back to hospital in 6 weeks to have another stint, im only 44 years old male, i do have type 2 diabetes, so no matter what even if your ecg is ok, get your bloods done

      They said I had a heart attack, didn't believe them. Wanted me to stay 2 days to run test. Said that blood work confirmed this. I told them this discomfort came only when I ate food. Had a H pylori test and was positive. Treating that I now and everyday I feel better and better. Upon research I found out that the blood enzyme that was elevated can also be elevated due to brain damage or kidney disease of which I have both. I just don't trust hospitals. Once they find out you have insurance it's ching ching. I stopped smoking and focused on eating healthier and hope to beat this .

      ECG won't reveal of you have any blocked in your arteries. The ECG is only for the 'electrical' flow in your heart. 2D Echo examination is the best way to find out if you have blocked arteries

    These could also be signs of panic attack. I always get tightness on chest and feeling of extreme discomfort, dizzy etc. during panic. Have called ambulance a few times.

    I had a heart attack with all the women symptoms and found my LAD was 99% blocked. I had a heart cath and a stent. Several doctors brushed it off as indigestion and GERD. My EKG and labs were normal, but they kept me for observation when my troponin levels spiked. After a year I’m having the same symptoms but mild with chest pain burning and breathlessness on exertion. I insisted on tests such as a scan, another heart cath, 2 echos and a ZIO monitor. I’m told i have anxiety. Yeah after a heart attack but no my symptoms are real and my medications no longer work. Doctors look at tests but don’t listen to the patient. Thanks for the education so I can determine what to do next. I don’t want to ignore this & damage my heart. ❤️

    I can’t get a echocardiogram through the NHS. I’m 28 now and genuinely know something is not right but they don’t want to take me serious because I’m under 30. I had ecg but that doesn’t always rule out heart defects. I don’t see why people cannot get checked throughly if they have never been checked before.. it would be a lot safer that way. Instead I just feel guilty for going to doctors now.
    I’m going to have to go private here in the UK which will be costly I imagine.
    Thanks for vids

    Hi Gupta. Thanks for the nice video. If I come over to England, I will visit you for a check-up on me. I am a Mauritian and I live in Mauritius. Four years ago I had an ECG and cardiologist advised me to forget if I was having a heart attack. After checking me and the ECG he said that my heart pain was more of a muscular pain. Now I will be 51 in December and I keep getting my symptoms (quick stinging pain in the heart). I even quit jogging for fear of having a heart attack while running. I drink apple cider vinegar, pure squeezed lemon and ginger in the hope that these are beating away any heart issues. I also had neuralgia (upper back severe pain) and had cortisone injection, morphine and olfen injection to kill the pain. I was put on solupred but all these medicines gave me edema in the left foot. I quit the medication but the only a slight swelling is still there. The edema hasn't subsided completely (although I can say 70% of it is gone). I quit all NASAID tablets for fear of risking myself having a heart condition. Please advise. Thanks.

    Hello, I get occasional chest pains that get sharper when I take a deep breath and when I bend over and lie down. They usually last 1-2 days and are relieved when i sit or stand upright. They're only the left side of my chest. I wonder if it's a pulled muscle, rib issue or anything related to my heart since I also regularly experience heart palpitations.

  • @48tilt
    @48tilt 3 роки тому +4

    Looking at this after spending night in hospital and having all the tests done. All clear.
    I now believe it is possible my severe chest pain was due to MSG food flavouring 635 in the food i ate that night .
    Be careful as many people are allergic to MSG. Wasted all those hospital resources because i ate noodles with attached sachet of MSG 635.

    I do have pretty much the same symptom when I stop exercising for a longer period of time and loosing muscle mass. This very localised pain is always coming from the same spot, which is in between the 5th and 6th rib on the left hand side. Mostly occurs in the mornings, after sleeping on this specific side during night, which is nothing more but a stuck rib muscle. After regular exercise however, it is going away nicely. (I checked in the past and if I'm applying pressure on that spot, it will activate the pain)

    Listen, guys! ECG won't reveal any blocked arteries. They only reveal the pattern, the rhythmic or electrical of the current of your heart.(I don't know if that's the proper way to say it). 2D Echo examination is the best way to find out of you have any blocked arteries!

    • @richardcooke7621

    I've been having chest pains since 2009 I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and OCD. I went to my primary care doctor because I was having chest pain and shortness of breath you recommended me to cardiologist I had a stress test echocardiogram also carotid ultrasound all the way up on the heart and he even suggested doing a catheterization which I did all come back normal my cardiologist says it wasn't coming from my heart it was either due to gastric problems or my anxiety. Since then I've had two other cardiologist just to get a second opinion they repeated some of the test again and I'll come back normal but I still have atypical chest pain what could it be?

      Does this pain increase when exercising or can you make it worse by touching it? (the area of your body that is hurting)
      Because a heart condition should always get worse when exercising and any pain that can be increased by touching usually has nothing to do with heart problems.

    Hi i am 22. I am having chest pain for quite a few days. I consulted a cardiologist and he couldn't identify any heart problems. I am bit fat as well so what should i do. Oh i am also having a pain in the back bone of my arm.

      Anonymous 1 yes now i am concentrating on my diet. I do consume green tea every day and oats meal for breakfast and in coming weeks i will start having salad for lunch.

      Donald Duck the green tea has a lot of caffeine which can have an inflammatory effect. Especially if you happen to have extra weight, that with the tea might put an unfair burden on your ticker. I do keto because I have a caffeine problem. Caffeine and any stimulant really fattens me right up.

    So what can it be when you get the stabbing chest pain that comes when breathing in deep? is that okay or should I go see doctor 👏😂

    • @YorkCardiology
      @YorkCardiology  8 років тому +4

      +Stephan Coetzer Always worth seeing a doctor although it is not the typical discomfort associated with the heart which is more a squeezing/tightness
