I made an Ultra Master Mode File in Breath of the Wild using glitches.

- Using some very complicated glitches, it's possible to skip the Sheikah slate in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Skipping the slate makes it so the player is unable to warp, see the minimap, use any runes, enter any shrines, or increase health. This makes the game a completely different experience!

= If you want to set this up yourself =
You'll need:
-Travel Medallion
-Normal Save File with 4 Blessing Shrines Beaten
1. Bring your Horse to the Archery Training Minigame (S of the Lake tower)
2. Set travel medallion at the archery Minigame
3. Warp to and enter the blessing shrine
4. Manually save the game
5. Warp to medallion
6. Activate the moon jump glitch
(Done by being on a wild horse as the timer runs out)
7. Load the save in the shrine
8. Warp back to the medallion
9. Return to title screen
10. Switch to Master Mode
11. Start a new game (or load the file if you already have a new game)
12. Manually Save the game
13. Load the same file (If done correctly you'll be in the blessing shrine)
14. Close the game
15. Open the game and start the master mode file
16. Finish the shrine (After the shrine is completed you should be brought back to the plateau after a LONG period of loading)
17. Save the game (do NOT walk towards the Shrine of Resurrection)
18. Switch back to normal mode
19. Repeat steps 3 to 18 with a different blessing shrine each time until you have 4 spirit orbs
20. With 4 spirit orbs, Climb down the cliff in front of you (again, do NOT go any closer to the Shrine of Resurrection) and walk to the closest normal shrine to trigger 2 cut-scenes
21. Walk to the Temple of Time to get the Para-glider to leave the plateau
22. Die a lot in Ultra Master Mode bc its hard
Smallant1 are you able to heal in that state or is your menu completely blocked off?
btw, about not being able to kill even one enemy with a single weapon - if you were to go and get electric elemental weapon and go against enemy that is shockable, you can glitch it out so that weapon is endless source of electricity, then you put something metal on it to conduct it and ta-dah, they will eventually die with 0 durability loss.

I love this interpretation of link, and I think they poke fun at that very concept a few times in windwaker

I just discovered this last week. All these chests and I never opened one while crouching.

I think the person who was assigned to design the Thunderblight Ganon fight was very angry the day they did it.
I think he needed to design the other 3 blights the same day. Some of them are too easy.
I think they designed the Calamity Ganon boss fight the same day too (but only on Master Mode).
That’s probably the worst but at the same time best truth that I’ve ever heard. 😊
if they did them in a particular order with each one getting more difficult then the order they developed the blights would be fire-water-wind-thunder-calamity, right? tho they prob made dbg first by this logic lmao

The Any% WR is 28 mins and this run was 7:24, so the Sheikah Tablet saves about 7 hours
LARAUJO I think it’s more so how under leveled and equipped he was. I’m sure if you set up the file with tons of spirit orbs than he could get more stamina/health, as well as spend some more time in game focusing on loot. The main thing that hinders him is not have bombs/cryosis/magnet abilities. I also didn’t see him do a BTB in this which I’m sure would’ve saved him a lot of time.

Rewatching this again -- this is probably one of the tensest runs you've ever done. At the end of it, I was still holding my breath. This isn't even my first or second time watching this.
This is basically just another one of those challenge videos: "Can you beat Breath of the Wild without the Sheikah Slate?" Except that Smallant doesn't take no for an answer.

I figured he would have know that any path that required Magnesis or Cryonis would be a no go. I personally prefer to climb Hyrule Castle and deal with any Guardians and monsters I come across.
Here’s the thing
If he had any mining equipment on him (drill shaft, cobble crusher+variants, etc) he could have broken the bombable wall
It’s a pretty rare fun fact that mining equipment can break those walls purely because you’re almost guaranteed to have bombs which are 100% better since infinite usage
But if you ever do a run in which you can’t use bombs (like Gamechamps’ No Pausing run, where I learned this information) then keep like an iron sledgehammer on hand for the walls

heres a tip don't use bomb arrows for multi shot bows they get a serious damage reduction so one arrow bows with bomb arrows are just better
First playthrough I've seen where Calamity Ganon was actually intense.

Calamity Ganon was such a war of attrition, holy cow. Thank goodness somebody thought to only let him recover about 1/4 of his total health at a time.

At first it looked like there might not be major glitches in BotW, but it just took long enough for the hype to die down, and we found scores of them. This is pretty insane... Next there'll be wrong-warps to the credits and code injections like in Super Mario World.
Watching your frustration with Calamity Gabon’s recovery reminded me of my very painful play through of the the Champions’ Ballad in Master Mode. They give you the bare minimum in those fights and it sucks (especially Waterblight)

Some of the strats you used like back flipping off rocks and stairs to trigger bullet time, stamina management using whistling while climbing, knowing how and when to bring out the potential of each weapon, parry timing, as well as the general glitch knowledge not only show off how amazing the game itself is, but you as well.
I used to think you were just pretty good. Now I can say you're like, GOOD good.

Midnight Zirconia In my original playthrough, I just swam up a few tricky waterfalls and made it straight to Ganon by accident.
notthe ninja You don’t even have to do that! You can just climb until you make it to the top. Use a couple updrafts if necessary. Watch out for them Guardians though.

also there is a limit on how much they can recover out of their max HP. This depends on how much damage you have dealt to them.

I made my own file (thanks for the guide), and you CAN free Vah Medoh. It's the only beast that doesn't need the map to beat, you just need to fire bomb arrows (like 20 bomb arrows) to solve the puzzle in the left wing. IDK how link can activate the terminals, but he can. Also for some reason you can activate the towers, download the camera without the Slate.
Maybe you could do a follow up video?
I was able to catch near the start when you did the Coliseum lynel and had to leave shortly after that, I came back at hyrule castle. Great to see all of the stuff that happened in between there, also nice editing before you got those ancient arrows for ganon, when you were doing it live it felt like you were climbing forever.

Honestly playing this game without the slate gives it a much more adventurist feel, mainly because you have no mini map to reference and no way to manipulate the environment. It's just Link and nature, pure and simple.
ON that flying skull, there's a respawnable Royal Claymore.

Would be such an emotional scene if the movie had given us literally ANY amount of time to grow attached to the horse in the slightest.
I felt nothing but irritation and apathy during that scene. I'm not going to feel bad just because it's an animal. If the movie wants me to mourn a character, it has to give me an actual reason to care about them.
If you know how much a life is worth, it's easy to mourn anyone, no matter how little time you had with them. Find a reason instead of begging to be given a reason. (I know it's about the writing, but I worry about people who seriously need reasons to actually care. I mourn people I never knew because each life is priceless)

This was honestly so incredibly useful. I'm currently doing a no death mastermode run without activating the towers or day night cycle. I think I'll wrong teleport or clip into the rune shrines just for the point. I wonder if I can do the divine beasts.. or wrong teleport into the post game shrines?

Nah, this is significantly slower and requires a complete save to set up so it's not viable for speedruns
