I mean this kind of makes sense. Presumably Ganon knows where the shrine of resurrection is, then sets up a bunch of guardians in an attempt to stop link early.

The difference is that crow fights anything even if he has a bad match up while ant retreats and doesn't get himself killed by fighting something he doesn't have a chance against

This Hyrule Castle is what it truly should be if Ganon was really competent. It’s way too easy to go in when you play the normal game but this one is so intense it’s an actual challenge designed to be almost impossible for intruders to try and attack the beast. I love it

No upgrades, no armor, no shields, sticks only, everything is gold or higher, automatic regen for enemies, no food, all shrines and Divine Beasts, no Bomb jump, no Paraglider, permadeath run, and every time you enter a load scteen there's a 10% chance Link drops dead of a heart attack.

When link stood up just 1 year after the calamity:
This makes it look like Guardians are actually challenging again. In the original game they're scary at first but trivial once you learn the parry timing.
Tbh once I figured out I could shoot them in the eye or hold daruks protection I literally stopped caring about them.
Honestly i wish they had more attacks like in hyrule warriors. I have only seen them uses their beam attack in botw. In hyrule warriors they are much more challenging outside the divine beasts.

@@chibiebil That takes durability tho. If you ever break or otherwise lose a weapon you are doing something wrong (as in, it hurts to lose part of your collection). the master sword was a godsend in the game, as you could finally fight normal enemies too (without having to resort to magnesis or bombs), before that you had to limit yourself to lyonels and parrying lasers. Still annoying that it gets disabled for a while every few enemies though, at which point its back to either ignoring them or slowly sapping their hp with bombs.
Seriously, attacking something head on (without mastersword) is like using potions in regular rpg's.
Will admit I used a lot in botw, because the world is so large and link is so slow that I constantly needed to chug speed potions. And stamina food can be considered consumable key items, as it lets you get into new areas. But normally using consumables in an rpg is a big nono, as you are no doubt aware.

I wanna see a mod where there is always a guardian laser aimed at you that fires at random intervals
Can imagine it's that difficult, the hardest part I think would be changing the timing of the laser. Cause you can have essentially an invisible/invincible guardian that follows you around
12:24 If I am not mistaken the rapid-fire is not part of the mod, guardians do that sometimes, but it seems that the likelihood has been increased (and of course the shooting speed).
This mod turns Breath of the Wild into Age of Calamity.

Oh man the bit where you finally committed to going to get the hylian shield was sick. The bullet time anywhere combined with super boosted guardians makes it actually look like you're a legendary hero. Then you got caught in the fire of those two stationary ones and link just takes 10 shots to the head in a wombo combo.
Getting real monster Hunter vibes from this mod. Something about the being relentlessly juggled then killed when you get up is a bit reminiscent of the series.
I love how if you have never played this mod before you would be like “oh fairies and a weapon just as I start? Thanks!” But if you have played this before it’s like “they’re gearing me up already, I’m scared to know what awaits me outside”

im pretty sure the default hylian shield stat is enough to flinch every enemy in the game on block so having shield guard past that means nothing, yeah?
@@ashleyunderscorebl Well, now that you mention it, I think that (and the other thing, increased durability hits) depends on the enemy's damage output. Which might mean that it actually does matter against some of the enemies in Relics, which probably have crazy boosted attack power. I'm not doing any extra research, but you can figure that out if you want.
Anyway, I just mean that most people rarely use or notice the shield abilities that shield guard has anything to do with. The main thing people care about is durability (in which the Hylian Shield starts out waaay ahead of the competition), and since the game doesn't display that, it's hard to know if they altered or boosted it. (Boosting it probably wouldn't make a difference either, at least for such a short playthrough in which you're unlikely to make a dent in the initial 900.)
I mean the higher it is the more enemies you can stagger
@@JamesonMcLeod My main point is that most people's combat doesn't rely on staggering enemies with their shield, especially when they don't understand the mechanic. I've certainly never considered it. The main quality we mostly look for in a shield is durability, and while shield guard does affect how strong hits damage the shield, the actual durability number is more meaningful.
props to the editor for always being able to cut down hours of content down to a manageable, entertaining 20-30 minutes or so

I never thought shield surfing would've allowed such cool movement. I like to do the shield jump thing a lot in my own playthrough just because it looks cool and the buttons are satisfying to press over and over, but the momentum change looks so fun in this mod
I have played relics of the past before but it was quite a while ago. they only have the ancient bow MKII, but now they have added an assortment of MKII weapons it seems. gotta check those out.
