    I appreciate your voice over on the speed painting it helped me realize certain aspects of the color blender I did comprehend from other videos. Thanks so much all the time you put into sharing your work. 😃

    Lisa, this is so great. You are tempting me to pick up some of these supplies and try this. You always make it look so easy, but we all know that you have invested thousands of hours to get to this point. Again, great work.

    You are so full of WONDERFUL information. Absolutely beautiful work. love the combination of orchids and clown fish too. I've used the fixative spray for years but I really love those sponge blenders and will definitely be getting some. Ty for showing me how to use them.

    I think when people ask what color they are asking specifically to match a reference at least that is what I do especially if I really like a certain color or shading or color theme.

    Great demo thanks, I was wondering how thick you spray the fixative? Light dusting or make the paper really wet

    Taquito Noodles!!!!! 😂 Also, before the livestream of the beginning of this piece, I drew something with orchids as well! Why are we all suddenly drawing orchids?! It looks beautiful. I am still staring at my powder blender set & experimenting before doing a full piece! *The bubbles look mighty good there. 😉💕

      will it be that this is orchids blossom season? I feel that we drawer, tend to be more sensitive about beautiful things around us. and these beautiful things trigger us to catch the moment?

      April Ch That is a wonderful theory & may quite possibly be some type of subconscious source of inspiration, but I live in the desert. I wish we had orchids, bleeding hearts, tulips, and snapdragons, big great oak trees, maples & cherry trees! I had absolutely no idea, lol! (Nor do I have television, read 'the paper', or leave the house.) Sometimes, you never know! 😊

    How hard do you press the colored pencil? Do you have a simple basic, getting started video for colored pencil?

    Recently got Powder Blender, I wondered if I need to do a "primer coat" of Powder Blender prior to the 1st application of pigments?

    Hi,Lisa. I am new to using gamsol with colored pencil añd I was wondering if the texture spray can be used to restore texture after the mineral spirits flatten the surface of the paper?

    • @anthonycasiday3402
      @anthonycasiday3402 7 років тому

      I'm not very experienced with using gamsol (nor am I Lisa) but you could ask her in one of her live streams, or contact the people that make powder blender www.brushandpencil.com/contact.html

    Hey lisa, for powder blender and paint thinner, does it work better on a specific type of colour pencil, i.e wax or oil? Thanks

      Chicken Pie Earlier today in the livestream, Lisa mentioned she preferred her oil-based Polychromos, but was not quite specific. I too am wondering the same as I'm dying to try my Luminance with the powder blender. I just LOVE the Luminance. Don't get me wrong, I adore my Polychromos too.

      Chicken Pie hi, I have been using paint thinner with all the three brands luminance, polychromos and prismacolors I have got and it works really well for me once I have got a lot of layers on paper. we have not got powder bleneder in Australia yet so can't comment on it :)

    Whats the difference in using the powder blender with coloured pencils and just using pastel pencils? it looks like the same thing? do you get more layers or more detail? just interested to know :) the fish and the flowers are beautiful together.

      Hi Caroline, well, there's not difference between the pastel pencils and colored pencils with colored blender... She created for speed the process in colored pencils, and, I'm trying this powder blender, and I like it, but, I can't get the textured fixative spray, because it have restrictions shipments to where I live. And, this is so complicated! But, what can I tell you about this product is, you can use it for larger areas, this product is so amazing for that. And If you decide to stick with pastel pencils, they're a great alternative. Good luck!

    I thought you didnt like the pablos. Are you going to do a review on them and compare them to polychromos? That would be pretty awesome.

    Based on the way you do your background here, I highly recommend using panpastels instead of colored pencils. You'd have fewer steps and the same effect, especially since you're using fixatives anyway. You'd also put less pressure on your hands.

    • @anthonycasiday3402
      @anthonycasiday3402 7 років тому +2

      In her livestreams, she's talked about not liking pastels because of how they feel, though I'm not sure about pan pastels because they don't touch her hand

    • @foreseengust
      @foreseengust 7 років тому +1

      Anthony Casiday I know she hates the dust from pastels, you're right about not having to touch panpastels. She's using a panpastel soft tool with the powder blender, that seems exactly like using panpastels. I was thinking it would be easier with her arthritis.

    do you need to keep the pencils sharp when using this product (other than for the final detail layers) because you've talked about being able to scribble

    Somehow the idea of powder blender gives me the creps. Like nails on blackboard. i think i will stick to mineral spirits ;)
    Question, though: The texture fixative, could I use it for my paintings with OMS? So that I won't lift off any pigment from my former layers?

    Brilliant teaching, beautiful motive, just not my choice on the background, i think i would go with a more cold background, I am addicted to cold and warm colors lol. and I am fare from creating something like this. I am only at the beginning of my journey. Your unique art is realism with a touch of surrealism?

    Are the Pablo pencils oil or wax based? I thought The Art Gear Guide channel said they contacted Caran D’Ache and they confirmed the pencils are oil based. I’m confused 😂 #newbieartistproblems

    I really like your videos. Like with those W&N markers some videos that I watched they didn't know what to do with them and clearly haven't been as successfull with their attempt with those. I wanted to link those videos of yours to other youtube-artists, and make them realize that the product is not bad, they just haven't got the hang of it yet. Learn something and if you don't still like it, then you can talk S*** about the procuct. I'm so disappointed to see somebody disliking some products so bad and other artists are like "I have this totally wrong paper for this, but I'll give it a go! It's utterly shit!" Well? What did you expect! If you don't use the right surface to markers you are not going to get good results! Omg they should be looking at your videos! I shall link it to them!!!!
