  • If we are truly to see social and economic change happening in the world, we have to embrace the wealth of possibilities in the counter-intuitive partnership between for-profit and not-for-profit.
Kerryn heads the Network for Social Entrepreneurs at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, which focuses on achieving both social and economic change through social enterprise. She has worked in the social sector since 2001 with numerous UK charities, and began her career as a journalist for business news channel Summit TV. She holds a Masters in Development Studies. Together with journalist Gus Silber, she co-authored the ‘The Disruptors,’ the book that inspired the theme for this event. Kerryn teaches social enterprise at GIBS and writes regularly on the topic.

As a social enterprise transforming lives, communities, and the environment, drop by drop, using solar energy in Zambia and sub-Saharan Africa. We approve this message.

Really appreciate the description presented here. The wall between for-profit and non-profit is still ingrained in the mindsets of a lot of entrepreneurs.

Great to see Scottish Widows as the early beginnings of insurance, it is a shame the private sector took the sector and made it hard for the Social Enterprise Sector to be at the scale to compete/start-up within that sector. LEAP Energy is a great social enterprise in Scotland that helps business, charities and social enterprises save on gas and electricity bills, re-investing back into reducing fuel poverty in Scotland.
