for the first time I saw this video, I was like, eh, yeah, kinda creepy. But then when I went to bed I kept on thinking about the cross. I got so scared of the cross that it was hard for me to sleep at night! That time I don't even want to search tamagotchi death anymore. But that was weeks ago. Yet even today, I am still terrified. But then there was a point I have to face my fears, so I went back to the video but kept on staring at the thumbnail. I even made a "draw your fears" drawing showing the cross scene and the dead tamagotchi next to it, and drew myself crying next to the tamagotchi. To sum it up, you were right in the description.
Well, I'm pretty sure you really feared about the death of Tamagochi. But sure the cross itself is Jesus Christ, but I don't know whether if you are an atheist or not. Jesus is always be with you even when you have a fear of cross.
Once my Tamagotchi had a ghost behind him, i was scared he was gonna die so i was worried.... While taking care of your tama: happy, upbeat, cute, funny, very catchy dies: The game tells his friend to hold his beer to compose the most depressing music that fills the air with despair
So in the first two games we still get a somewhat morbid heart monitor sound and we're forced to watch the Tamagotchi get sicker and sicker. But we also get beautiful music by Gameboy standards and see the Tamagotchi become an angel, or even a ghost, implying it's moved onto the next world. But here? While you could say it's not as drawn out, it's also much more abrupt than the first two games. The normally cheery music starts to skip, and then you see firsthand your Tamagotchi's grave. No implication that it's moved on; it's just dead and buried. The silhouettes in the sky come off more as memories to me than the Tamagotchi's spirit. Memories are all you have. And the _music..._ What you hear can only be described as a funeral dirge, and not a melodic one either. The bitcrushing only makes it worse. At first I thought the static was due to poor recording equipment, but no; it would seem it's actually part of the game. It sounds like something out of a creepypasta. First two games: "Your Tamagotchi has passed on to the next life. Time to care for another one until it's time for them to reunite." This game: "Your Tamagotchi's DEAD. You KILLED IT. It will NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. You are a horrible person. LIVE WITH THIS."
Mario dying: "Mama Mia!" Pac Man dying: "weeweeweeweewoo bweep bweep" Someone in Star Wars dying: AAAAUGH! Whatever the fresh blue blazing hell this was supposed to be: GOD NO HE'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD AND I KILLED HIM! DEAR GOD MY BABY!
I love how dark and scarring the tamagotchi can be, and how well done bandai made the death scene guilt trip you into never killing your Tama again. However, this is a KIDS game, and when your a kid watching your dying tama like this, it makes nights sleepless for you, and it’s hecking CREEPY. Trust me, I know from experience.
Tamagotchi (GB) Death Screen Scare Factor: Medium to high, due to the rapid flashing, the heart monitor and flatline beeps, the sad music, and the ghost in the Japanese version. The angel in the international releases doesn't help at all. Tamagotchi 2 Death Screen Scare Factor: Low to high. The foggy border tamed it a little, replacing the rapid flashing, but the beeps, music, and ghost are still a bit scary and sad. But it gets worse in the next death screen. Tamagotchi 3 Death Screen Scare Factor: High to nightmare, because of the dark background, the completely different, scarier, more depressing music, the headstone with a dead Tamagotchi, and the silhouettes of that same character appearing in the sky. I recommend you must not watch this in the dark.
I watched this at night, the music kept on replaying in my head. I couldn’t sleep because I didn’t want a nightmare. But sleep and me crossed paths and I had no nightmares in my head. The song keeps on replaying, but now- It seems to be smoothing now.
The scariest part of all of this is - in my opinion - not the corpse, not the cross, not the music, but all three combined and what the whole setting implies. The previous two games give some sort of visual/implication that the tamagotchi has ascended to heaven, or at least had its soul freed from its body. The music is solemn, but also melodic and gentle. You feel as if you get to have a parting goodbye as your pet moves onto the afterlife. In this version, however, you don't get any of that. All you get is the raw, non-sugarcoated reality. Once your pet is at death's door, you're immediately taken to...this. Your once-breathing pet, sitting in front of a cross tombstone, with a deep red sky to boot. The music isn't gentle and mournful; instead it's just...*soulless.* You don't know what happens to your pet once it dies, except for the fact that it's dead. As far as you know, it could mean in Heaven, roaming the spiritual realm, or - unlike the previous games even give the idea of - actually dead. Eternal oblivion. It horrifies me to think about how one day, you and I may either live on outside of our physical bodies, or have our conscious completely erased, forever. [Copied from my comment on the video of the music itself.]
Imagine being an alien, your out in the woods, lost....then you starve and die so your cohorts half ass bury you and put up a cross as your spirit circles around the grave forever trapped on this planet
Well, in real life if a person gets struck by lightning, they won't get burried and that also means god hates them. And maybe the game thought ur tama hated you so they did that. Its sad, tamagotchi is for kids, i wish this game was banned bc of how dark it is
The music keeps playing in my head... it's so depressing... and creepy in a way. And the cross... oh goodness the cross. It's just... wow. They didn't even bother to bury the poor thing! I am scarred for life. Something is clearly wrong with the person who made this ending.

Death screen in Tamagotchi 1: Don't worry, you cared your tamagotchi very well and now he's chilling in heaven! Tamagotchi 3: YOU TURNED YOUR TAMAGOTCHI INTO A MONSTER AND SO ARE YOU

The music in this game sounds creepier and sadder than in the previous 2 games. Anyway, I'm glad the Tamagotchis never die in My Tamagotchi Forever. They'll always be waiting.
Danielle Bowden It’s a bitch to emulate, because it used a specialized cartridge that had a built in clock and speaker for full time gameplay features. I had to dig and find an older emulator called Rew in order to get it working.
Is that better though? Eternal life spent in waiting when some kid may have just gotten bored of the game indefinitely, never to return. At least death gives them some resolution.
If you're playing on a real cartridge, it's a lot worse when you have a monochrome gameboy, the background is black while you only left with the grave and the dead Tamagotchi dark grey.
@Mariama Barry That's true, but... I think what they did here is a little overkill. Especially when you consider the Tamagotchi 1 and 2 death sequences were just a heart monitor slowly leading up to the Tama dying, then you hear somber, but beautiful music playing as it passes onto the afterlife. To me, that better fits a dark moment in a kids' game. The death sequence here, to me, feels like the Kirby: Mass Attack game over done about 15 years earlier. Unnecessarily dark and honestly, just not fitting to the tone of the universe.
Since this game is actually real-time (it's even got a beeper on the cartridge for being able to call out even while the game's turned off), it could be possible to neglect your Tamagotchi to the point where the next time you load up your save data you'll be at this death screen immediately upon loading your save data. If you didn't know about this beforehand this would actually be disturbing.
I'm just watching this becausr i want to. This makes me uncomfortable and may make me unable to sleep for a while. i was just curious what a dead tama looks like
