Fun fact, if you kill patches early instead of showing mercy, he gives you a full set of armor and a +8 spear. I did this on my first character before I learned who patches was (Elden ring is my entry in to the souls games) and I absolutely wrecked with that spear for awhile. You'll also get his bell bearing so you still have access to his entire shop's inventory via roundtable hold. Also, I'm pretty sure that the finger maiden husk sells his items cheaper than he does. Bastard was marking prices up on us!
