Don’t agree that 1.0 Topline MT is not value for money. It has got all the features, looks and engine is adequate.
after driving Taigun 1.0 Topline for 3.5 months and 5k kms, here are the pros and cons based on my experiences:
Pros:
1. 5 STAR SAFETY: When people think safety, they ONLY think of Airbags. Airbags is necessary, but it is NOT sufficient. Otherwise even i10 or Celerio with 6 airbags should be very safe. Having a strong structure is more important. And, Strong does not mean "strong like rock". When accident happens, the structure is your FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT line of defence. It needs to absorb as much impact as possible and dissipate it so that you feel as low impact as possible, which will then be handled by airbags. Dont think that strong means it should not break. Think of Helmets for example. The best helmets (in terms of safety, for which helmets exist) break on impact so as to dissipate the effect of impact. Taigun and Kushaq are the only 5 star cars in this segment.
2. Extremely refined engine: People talk about engine capacity exactly like they talk of RAM and MegaPixels of their phones. They dont understand that capacity or size does not guarantee performance. Apple's 4GB phone performs way better than Android's 8GB phones. The main point is how does the overall system utilise the capacity to its max benefit. This car zooms away in sports mode (even the regular mode is very fast). And this is coming from someone who also owns a BMW 😃
3. Internal Space: This car has the longest wheelbase in its segment, which is even bigger than Seltos and Creta. It sounds surprising, because of its exterior looks (which is smaller than Seltos and Creta), but that is what it is. That makes people sitting at the back much more comfortable than other cars. Creta is wider than Taigun though and it helps when 3 people sit at back.
4. Interiors: It has no-nonsense interiors and is very comfortable. Big bucket seats, wide windows and simple design create an ambience of more space in your mind.
5. Mileage: I have a mixed usage of highways and peak traffic conditions in my daily usage and am getting a mileage of 10.8 kmpl overall. This is bound to increase after one year major service when they change all oils etc (as per many YT reviews). I am sure the overall mileage with time will be above 12kmpl, but even now this mileage is very good for me.
6. Cruise Control: Very easy to use and I switch it on as soon as possible. However you think you can drive, a cruise control will always be better in terms of mileage. So switch it on as soon as possible.
Cons:
1. Touch A/C Control: Man!!! this is the worst feature any car can have. Randomly something or someone will (by mistake) touch the panel and something will change, and you will spend 5 minutes pulling your hair, trying to understand what the hell happened. Why is the a/c not working as expected 😵💫 Even the touch buttons and icons are so small that it is very difficult to notice what is on and what is not. I HATE IT COMPLETELY. A analog a/c panel is so so better than this touch panel.
2. No Front Sensor or Camera: Atleast a front parking sensor is a MUST in all cars nowadays, given how narrow the parking spaces have become. Even after driving for more than 1.2L kms, I sometimes feel the need for it, so I can completely understand how frustrating it can be for a new/inexperienced drivers.
3. A/C Sound: The a/c makes a hissing sound in first few minutes of car starting, especially in 1st fan speed. Fortunately my wife (who is the main user of this car) never noticed it, so I too ignored it as the cooling systems works perfectly. We actually have to increase the temperature everytime, as it gets very cold inside.
4. Rattling noise of doors: I am not sure of previous versions, i.e 2022, but my car doors make minor rattling noise when the car gets dirty and the dust enters the door sides. Post washing, the sound goes away completely. I face the same thing in my BMW too so nothing that I worry about. Again, my wife cannot hear it, so i ignore it conveniently 🤣
5. Sound System: it you are playing musing from phone, it is quite good, but the quality of radio is pathetic.

What is your opinion on reverse camera quality? Also the hand brake lever doesn't look good. It should have been sleeker and rest horizontally when not engaged.
@@cyberswarup the quality of rear camera is just OK. Not great, and not bad. One thing missing for sure is moving lines based on steering position. It has only fixed lines in the camera view.
Parking brake is manual, but i don’t mind it much. Creta has a lovely electronic parking brake. Not sure of Seltos. Interior ambience of Creta and Seltos is definitely better than Taigun.
Is manual better than automatic ?
@@ssurbhit not sure as it is a completely personal choice. I took test drive of manual too, but after driving the automatic version for 4 months now, i dont see any reason as to why i could have chosen manual. The gearbox is very smooth and shifts are hardly noticeable.
Reverse camera can be installed?
Taigun or Virtus base model?
I didn't get seat cover and dematting easily out side the vw showroom

Suzuki is consiered indian, this show to what extent japanese go to get accep-ted by customers!! hyundai, suzuki, fiat etc customized their stalks as per RHD. VW, ford, GM etc never did.
