Dude, the work that went into this hack with no financial gain on your part is amazing. An incredible game that will keep us busy for a long time, a ton of new content from the streamers playing the game, and a learning experience for new kaizo players. Respect sir, your work is greatly appreciated.
It's only 23 levels though...zelda and smw were huge games compared to this..I do think it's awesome, and what happened sunday night was great, but it's still just a hack...1/3 of the way to being a real game
@Edward Baulch The original is lacking the snare drum on beat and during the chorus. That's what gives Marathon's track such an earworm. The snare drum sounds like someone is cheering or clapping along.
You show a lot of aptitude for world building, you have a great attention to detail Barb. I'm not anywhere approaching good enough to play GPW2 but I've been loving watching what I've seen so far.
I’m obsessed with the Mount Moon song at 25:16 never heard of the game it’s from originally but man that track is dope so is Mount Moon part 2 idc who is playing the game but I’ll watch if they’re playing that level. Amazing work on this hack which goes well beyond what I assumed was possible and great job on the dope soundtrack!
I wish they had the whole song posted here. Sadly it seems to be missing its very last part. Still though one of the best songs in the game. Sends chills down my spine.
Hey Barb, maybe you're interessted by german support: Every time I have do drive from one to another location with a bus, this happens with your music selection. I thank you, I love GPW2 and I'am looking forword for GWP3! Written by a Berlin bus driver :)
40:38 Yacht Club Castle has my favorite song and _2nd_ favorite mechanic in the whole game. My favorite mechanic is the time-freezing clocks featured in Idle Hands, _hands_ down the best mechanic to me ;)) Phenomenal job barb
Thank you so much for choosing Secret of Evermore music for your hack Barb. It's one of my all time favourite games and the music in that game is just incredible. It's very nice that it gets some love even nowadays. Big thank you to everyone who worked along Barb and created/provided the songs for this hack.
I have beat the first 2 levels and I can say it's pretty fun. I'm glad it's not full of timed frame perfect cape tricks like the last hack I wanted to try as well. Thank you for making my work day better!
Everytime I watch MitchFlowerPower playing this game I low-key giggle everytime he loses lives in Riptide Slide because I love hearing to that level's mix.
Both com_poser and DanTheVP killed it!! Love the soundtrack and love the hack even more! Keep it up Barb! You are an incredible level designer. Can’t wait for GPW3! barbLove
Barb, you are truly a legend in the SMW community. This hack is the most polished SMW hack I've ever seen, the attention to detail is quite remarkable and the team you were able to pull in because they believed in your project is amazing. The music they made for you is incredible and completed the project nicely.
I didn't get to listen to much of the overworld music in the playthroughs and speedruns I've seen but now that I'm playing GPW2 it's so good. I've gotten through Caradhras so far and that cave overworld track is one of the best. The soundtrack, level design, attention to detail, and chocolate in the game is amazing. Even though I'm dying a lot, it's still really fun, feels fair when I mess up, and I'm honing my kaizo skills. Great work Barb and everyone else who contributed, you created a masterpiece.
The best part of this video so far is: There is a list of music names + time stamps!! Very nice and thx for uploading the musics on YT! Also a great and NOICE ROM hack man! Really impressive I must say.
I know Forest, Mountain, and Ice Snow are just like little custom overworld tracks from different vldcs, but those are some really good tunes. Excellent choices :)
Hiya there i know its been 3 years since you made this comment and this means absoultely nothing but i saw your reply on the pinned comment saying the same thing so das cool ig
Thanks Barb great tunes thanks to all the wonderful music team it was awesome seeing GPB overcome all your challenges the music just took it to the next level
This game is truly amazing. I don't have enough skill to go through it, but I marvel the work you and everyone apart of it did by watching others play. The soundtrack is sick, thank you for posting this.
barb and all others that worked on this creation. I hope you have created something here that cannot die and that will inspire a whole generation to continue to make awesome games.
I've been waiting for this soundtrack before GPW2 was even out! I've been loving the levels that I have played, and the levels that ive seen other people play have looked amazing.
5:30 I KNEW IT. It just now occurred to me I could probably just google the GPW2 soundtrack, but when I watched Poo do his first playthrough however long ago that was, I fucking knew this was snowboard kids music. I just didn't know what track it was. I thought it was one of the first levels, but after I googled those and was wrong I thought maybe I was just crazy.
Absolute Legend, one thing I've always sought out when hearing a catchy tune from a ROM Hack level is the OST List! Lunar Magic Enthusiasts please take note, we appreciate music documentation like this and love discovering new VGM Tracks to listen to. Thanks again Barb!!
I wish all the songs were on extended because I love the song choices. Especially the TMNT dam level theme. I keep hearing from people how hard the Dam level was , but I used to play the game all the time at my cousin's house and we found it easy. It was everything after it that was hard.
I wish barb would have put a midway in the pipe on Toasty Coals, so we could have listen to the full doom song. That song is a banger! You only get to hear the first 20-30 seconds.
Great job on the hack Barb. Also I have a song suggestion. In the next hack (if there is one), please add a song from plants vs zombies. It has a great soundtrack.
the mega man music is so good , jeez is like being in a party barbLUL the weird thing is that never liked parties . but such a good romhack, love you all barbLove barbAnime
Perhaps the best thing about this hack is that while it is very hard, it is still beatable by human playthrough making it more enjoyable than kaizo that only a TAS can beat

@Sam Grotto GOTS TO GET PAID!
Gets paid indirectly, but this game could have been released for $60 a pop and nobody would complain.
60? If it was gpw1, invictus and gpw2 I'd Def pay 60...
@@RobChapala no. This game alone was better than most AAA games out right now

Just when I thought nothing would top Invictus.
Best Romhack ever.
You changed the game with this one.
Shout out to that composer portrait.
That Ocean Palace arrangement surprised me.
Riptide Slide's soundtrack is so god damn good, jesus
I like this arrangement better than the original.
3:47 I can't get this song out of my head. It's so catchy and it somehow synced up with the gameplay of the level on so many occasions.
THIS!!! as if it was made for that level! Instantly searched what the song was, amazing choice
Great song :3

34:46 At Doom's Gate sounds ABSOULTELY SICK like this.
Does anyone know where I can find that version of Doom's Gate on its own? I've searched for it several times and got absolutely nothing.
@@genericyoutubecommenter589 You may have luck looking on SMWcentral. They have a lot of tracks from the lists.
No kidding
3:46 what a bop.
The first mount moon track is the boppest
49:11 This is a damn cool track. Very well designed music.
Dank dnb almost

I wish they had the whole song posted here. Sadly it seems to be missing its very last part. Still though one of the best songs in the game. Sends chills down my spine.

So amazing! You've really out done yourself here, Barb. As well as EVERYONE who helped with the soundtrack. When that SCIV song kicked in, though!!!!!
Hey barb, you are an amazing creator, congrats on GPW2 .
Me Too who pissed in your cereals buddy?
DarkLeviathan8 what did he say
Still enjoying this piece of art.
Barb is the GOAT
I am listening to this while I do college coursework. Good stuff.

Wow, you're a god. I can't even get to the first checkpoint, and I've been trying for hours. How long did it take for you to beat the levels?
Once again you killed it not only on the soundtrack, but really the whole game(well from what I've seen so far anyways lol) You da man!
Thanks for putting this up. The sound track is to good to not be available to listen to anytime.

Can’t get that cave overworld tune outta my head! It’s so good.
wait. Part 1.. :O
just how much details and music did you put in there. truly awesome. you have my greatest respect for this.
Big Snowman at 5:30 sounds like a true 80's track and I love it.
This is such a great song, I listen to it while I work.
The OST is awesome, in particular the "At doom's gate", awesome job.
Why is this so freaking good
Being able to listen to E1M1 without death interruptions sure is enjoyable. :D

This soundtrack is just so well orchestrated. The game is so well built. My favorite soundtrack for a SMW hack yet! Thanks Barb!!
Bro the one at 44:07 is FOR SURE the best one! it just hits the vibe

Oh snap! There's music from Journey to Silius in this game! That game was my jam back in the day...criminally underrated game.
Also Barb GPW2 looks amazing so far. Can't wait to play it myself.

Top notch. Great work by some great folks. Congrats on maybe the greatest rom hack I've seen.

Great music choices Barb, loved the SoR tribute :)
That Pit cover from com_poser is so good. Also really like the TMNT song too, it's a "dam" good theme. ;)
I'm already nostalgic over this game. I didn't even know that could happen this quickly!
