My goal with this was to see if I could update the audio and retain that classic Zelda feel to the Super Nintendo game. Essentially creating an idealized version of the soundtrack. (At least for me!)

I would love an extended version of the Final Boss theme against Ganon.

I started playing video games around 4 years old and it was The Nintendo and then SNES after that the 64 then GameCube and WII and Finally The Nintendo Switch and for handhelds Classic Gameboy and then Gameboy pocket then Color after that Advance and SP then Nintendo DS then DS Lite a little of DSi and then 3DS line from 2011 to now it's a retired but unforgettable handheld for all of awesome games from Mario Kart 7 to The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina 3D Remaster and The Legend Of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D Remaster and many more games and Apps

I'm guessing they ripped just the music track and not the sfx track -- and then just forgot about it.
There’s something about those NES/SNES/Genesis fantasy/rpg tracks that just...do it. They hit right, and they’re as unforgettable as the games themselves.
i watch old tomb raider stuff, or mario, or zelda, resident evil, all these old games had so much for me. they were "simple", yet catching. nowadays the games have to look good, but the gameplay suffer in almost every genre.

Absolutely. I honestly think that the two most impressive game soundtracks of all time are Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI for being so iconic and unforgettable despite being hindered by the SNES hardware.
Some of these kinda sound like the original songs do in your memory.

Hey wow, no offense but I went into this expecting the worst. There's a certain hubris that a lot of "I enhanced the soundtrack to this classic game" people have. This is absolutely not that! This is so incredibly well done. Every track really captures what made the originals so good and helps it shine.
I agree with the sentiment. A lot of "remixes" and "enhancements" go overboard with instruments and very often throw in a pointless bridge section or guitar solo or something. I want to hear the songs as they are, maybe with different instrumentation or a few effects, but no changes to the melody, this does that pretty well.
I had the same worry that was immediately put to rest. This is both very faithful to the source material and wonderful of its own accord.
It's a bitter sweet joy listening to the music. Brings back certain memories of my teenage years. Especially the time of 1997 when I was 14. That was the time you could see the comet Hale-Bopp in the sky. I played this game with a friend I went to school with. We had no instructions or guide about the game hence it came as a surprise when we thought we had beaten the game but it suddenly turned into the Dark World. We played a lot of games at that time. Zelda, Secret of Mana and the Street Fighter II series were our favorites. These games are adventurous, touching - and from a nostalgic perspective that I have now - touching in a verry personal way . At the beginning of 1998 my friend moved away and we never saw each other again. Now 23 years have past and every now and then I wonder how he did in life, where's he at right now... So every now and then I look up stuff like this video on UA-cam and bathe in memories.
I hope you find your friend someday!
I'm the same exact way. I played this with a good friend at his house. I was only 13 in 1997 though. And yeah we played all the different versions of Street Fighter II too. Only in my case, I'm the one who moved out of the state. I visited him every so often but joined the military when I was 18. I last saw him was when I visited in 2004.
Sometimes you forget that amongst all the vitriol, trying to get the top comment by being as snarky and clever as possible, and the belittling, dehumanizing, graceless arguing...
That many of the comments on UA-cam are from broken, hurting people... each with their own pains and stories.
What a revelation it could be if we would all remember and treat one another with grace...
Here's hoping that someday, you can reconcile with your friend. I can think of a few people I pray that God would let me reconcile with someday too.
I have a friend like that...and I remeber that comet. Good times

I prefer this to the “Link Between Worlds” update honestly. The instrumentation is just right to feel updated without going overboard. Perfect middle ground
Haven't played it yet. Sounds like I need to pick it up
I disliked Link Between Worlds just aping the Ocarina of Time Soundtrack into its moments. I really felt like the OST for Link to the Past was unique to its own tone, and vice versa. Trying to mix them together cheapens the feel (even if lore-wise, they take place in same universe, different timelines).
i was thinking the exact same
It felt like a new sountrack to me with only some tributes to ALTTP. The dungeon themes in ALBW are outstanding and original.
Skyward Sword went overboard to me, didn't felt like videogame music anymore. I actually love ALBW's soundtrack.
"Make sure your volume is at a comfortable level."
Me: WHAT? I can't read while this is so loud...
I’m so glad this was my first Zelda game
Link has never spoken a single word but his experiences speak fathoms.....
One of my favorite things about Zelda's music how relaxing and easy to listen to the ambient tracks are. A lot of other remixes, like in ALBW and the ZREO remixes, tend to go overboard. This is a pretty faithful rendition that expands on the originals without over doing it.
The music from this game is AMAZING
Its like when you see crazy graphic mods and say "it looked like this when i first played it"
This is the equivalent "this is what it sounded like when i first heard it."

I love those
I find the Menu Select / Fairy themes to be really heart breaking. Brings to my mind the idea of a little candle in a storm, or of a baby with a lot of potential in front of them. Delicate and helpless on its own.
Ganon and his minions disliked this vid- no other explanation, Thank you for this- it must have taken a lot of hard work and it has paid off as it sounds amazing. Well done!
While i would not dislike it because of the obvious dedication behind it, this remaster is not up to the original, to my ears. Probably too stuck on the way it sounds on the SNES version to accept any other.
Claiming so might sound debattable to many, but it still beats disliking a fan remaster without pointing out what sounds wrong or off...or even thinking people can have different tastes.
How about the explanation that people can and will dislike things you like? I mean, imagine that the world doesn't revolve about yourself and it might get clearer.
I can hear the music more clearly than on the original hardware!
"Make sure your volume is at a comfortable level."
Ah yes... The 110%...
This is literally the first remaster of an iconic ost that I am like "ok... this is dank as hell. I cant believe they managed to not ruin it and it sounds magical". Fantastic work. How did you do it?

KM Hemmans The UA-camr
Theres some swell guy on here who has done some great mario stuff like this, ladiesman something or other
keeping the instruments to a minimum, not putting extra shit on top of it, no overblown effects, no techno... just cleaner instruments.. boom.. perfect.
I notice that it's making sure to put the tempo and notes with the exact same pauses as the original. Many remasters tend to change it up a little to try to be different, like moving a single note to be slightly delayed or something. This doesn't do that. I appreciate it.
For better or worse, ocremix had a huge impact in making people feel like these kinds of projects were not viable or simply too "low effort". In reality, it was partly a liability to dodge when monetizing remixes became contentious.
Finally someone that understands the oomph in the Hyrule Castle music

Overall, this is amazong remastering!
Yeah, the drips are essential in that track!
Agreed!!! Drips make that track 10x better!!!
Dark Golden Land - Best Hype soundtrack ever. At this point you feel OP against stronger monsters in the world
It's the "drip drip" noises I miss in Dark Dungeons. My mind automatically fills them in and without thinking I make the noises myself.
It sounds like the soundtrack to a lost remaster of LttP on PS1.
Getting the master sword by yourself when you're 8 years old... no other gaming experience has ever come close.
Ok. So its like youve heard a bands greatest hits here and there all over but then you sit down and listen to one of their classic albums and realize all those hits are from just one album!!
That Zelda 2 Town theme was very appreciated
25:55 The background melody of Dark World being much louder and easier to hear makes it soooooo much better. I always loved how much it complemented the main melody but it was always so hard to hear since the volume for it was really low.

Thanks for the memories. In Canada, Nintendo released a french version of this game, I remember me and my friend playing it, it was such a good game. It was one of these games all the little kids knew about and liked it, I've drawn that hyrule map a few time.
Dude this is INSANELY good. I have never subbed so quickly.
It’s too bad that the song “The Sanctuary” is too overlooked in the Zelda series. It has a melancholily, mysterious, and even creepy vibe but has the feeling of peace and nostalgia.

Just when i tought the Hyrule Field couldn't get any better, i discover this.
I actually teared up when I heard Zelda begin.
I grew up with Link to the Past, since my family is poor and we only ever had the old SNES. So that Zelda, that Princess Zelda was *My* Zelda. And to hear her theme like this... it’s something I can’t quite describe.
Feels good man
LOL poor piece of crap
I come from a French Canadian family and this was the only game we could find on the SNES where the whole game would be in french. (other games had language options but they came much later). So in this game, I could actually understand the story and what everyone was saying and it grew on me. Alongside Super Metroid, this became my best videogame of all time.
I understand you man whenever I think of Zelda this is the Zelda that comes to mind and this is also my Zelda no our Zelda ❤️🙏
I feel you, for sure. LTTP was THE Zelda game for me as a kid, and it’s really hard not to feel all the things I felt as a kid when I hear this music. I messed around with it a bit as a younger kid, but finally as a younger teen buckled down and committed to beating it, which I eventually did.
It was easy to feel like nobody as a kid. When you played this game, though, you were important, you were a hero (especially to a girl), and you mattered. You got to experience conflict without trauma, and what it felt like to overcome long odds.
Damn, I love this game.

I think A Link to the past made in the style of the 3d games as a remake would be better imo. It would be an actual remake similar too FFVII and not just a remaster like every zelda "remake" we've got so far.
Maybe they would recreate the aesthetic of A Link Between Worlds, but seeing as the game would be on Switch and not 3DS, they could probably push the graphical capabilities so much further. I for one would like to see them try something new with the art style.
That being said...I almost would prefer to see the Oracle games remade into a one ultimate experience on the Switch first. A Link to the Past is very much playable and enjoyable in its original form and on the SNES app on the Switch. In fact, it's the most easily playable port of a Zelda game on the Switch! The only other two ports on the system are The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link, and those are both a bear to play. The 2D games that followed the Oracle games are all easier to play and look at than those Gameboy Color ones.

I'm 40 now and this give me chills in a good way taking me back to early/mid 90s. Subbed on this video alone. Thanks dude.
eagle's tower always manages to sound insane and creepy no matter what version it's in and I love it.
The Legend of Zelda- A Link to the Past, will be forever my favorite Zelda game, and though I have missed some, nothing for me will out top it..
loved it's music...
So my opinion about this song is....
(You left me speech less..if there was a remastered version for alttp in 3d (not counting ALBW)
this would be the perfect renditions to use.)
oh and by the way never realized that in the intro story, some notes sound they were used for lke Majora..
oh no...forget about it all...you missed The Duck Call.... T_T....(sike) :P
Link's awakening and Zelda ocarina of time were great too! Rememberrrrr! xD
A link between worlds is not a remake, it's a sequel game
I don't know where this video came from or why it showed up on my homepage all of a sudden, but I definitely needed this today.
The intro music is absolutely epic
Its like just porting it to a better console, i love this.
