I have been working as a 3D architectural visualisation artist and interior designer for over 9 years. Fountain Pens brought me back to the joy of sketching and drawing in recent months. I think a good paper is as special and important as a good Fountain pen. 💛 from London, J. (Please do more Fountain pen paper reviews in 2025. My favourite is a paper made in Belgium 🇧🇪 called Original Crown Mill 1870.)
Much as I love the digital world and cannot imagine my life without it, all my notes of whatever type, whether writing in my diary, journaling about artistic thoughts, note taking on oil painting and the writing of my book on drawing Greco-Roman theatres, are piously written with fountain pens. They also act as a statement pieces and love of meaningful luxury. By the way I brought two people back to the world of fountain pens. So yes Samuel, "together we are changing the game"!! Happy holiday season and hopefully we shall meet during my next hop to Switzerland, my birthplace and other homeland.
For me it's much more simple: fountain pens will help me achieve my goals because if I don't achieve my goals I won't be able to afford the fountain pens i want LOL
That is so inspiring Samuel! Thank you! 😊❤ I’m definitely going to write down my goals and be serious about them! For me I use fountain pens for journaling and doing my Bible devotions! 😊
I find your content refreshing. There aren’t many channels that approach fountain pens like you do. Owning the fact that they can be luxury items nowadays but accepting the fact that they are still useful, current and much more important in a time in which any pens can be considered obsolete. Also psychologists actually encourage the act of writing for various reasons of which memory and the ability to focus on a subject/problem/emotion etc being the most talked about. Personally I use my pens all the time. For me everything is analog first and then digital if needed. So anything from planning, journalling, research on a subject, preparing a seminar, doodling etc etc is all in written form for me. My mind and memory work at its best this way. And along the way I am lucky to be able to use beautiful pens and inks😊 Btw I finally found Otto Hutt’s web sale point in İstanbul and got the design c and the design 07 in silver. Unfortunately the design 08 seems permanently out of stock. I will try to contact someone from there and see if I can get my hands on one at some point. I didn’t have time totry the pens home as I was hitting the road for work but I grabbed the design 07. And man that pen writes like a dream!! Such a perfect balance in the hand and that fluted silver body is just beautiful. I love it! And you’re the reason why I got into the brand in the first place. So: 1 game changed ✅😁 Since our customs regulations changes happened this year (which nobody understands yet) it’s become extremely difficult to buy online from abroad. So my plan for 2025 is to travel more for my pen obsession and visit my fave stores around the world 😄
Hi Samuel, I really enjoy your videos, thank you. This last 6 months, I lost 20 pounds. This is how I did it. Intermittent Fasting, allow yourself to eat only during an 8 hour period in the day, and nothing the remaining 16 hours, except water or coffee/tea. This forces your body metabolism to stay in a fat burning mode all day, instead of fat storing mode. This is key! If your body stays in fat storing mode, any amount of dieting will not help lose weight. I also run a few minutes (nothing intensive) in the evening, and do sets of push ups to keep in tone. During my 8 hours between 12PM and 8PM, for lunch I only eat 1 apple and a glass of milk, and some almonds. At dinner, I eat a regular hearty meal. That got me to go from 185 down to 165 pounds in 6 months, and my waist line went from 40 to 36 inches. Had to punch a new hole in my belt. I hope that helps. Thanks for sharing your goals, I will try to read 12 books. I love using my fountain pen to journal and set goals too. Best, Jung
I have a notebook where I write all my investments (buying price and quantity of shares, and later the selling price and the profit). Because is so important I use a Visconti fountain pen. I also use excel, but I work with a lot of numbers and excels in my job so it is a way to make a difference. In the Kindle or the Ipad you dont think that you have a library, so maybe in excel I don´t feel that I have money working for me. And about reading, I guess i read 14 books this year; I don´t have that as a goal for the next year but I have so many books that I want to read so... maybe, the real goal is not a quantity but the habit that will allow you to reach that quantity. And a tip: instead of making a "shopping list of goals", try with a mindmap.
Hi Samuel! I'm new to the pen world and just finished the last of the first semester of my medical school finals last week. I rewarded myself with buying my first set of Montblanc Meisterstuck pens with the intention of reducing the friction between me and the practice of getting into writing. I find the quality of these pens so delightful that it naturally draws me towards sitting down and being intentional with jotting my thoughts down on physical paper as opposed to my phone or drawing on my iPad with an apple pencil. Anyways, I notice that you carry a whole case worth of fountain pens specifically. How does that work with your daily carry? I would expect fountain pens to leak so I should be held more upright on a desk as a more permanent place of writing as opposed to other pens like a ballpoint or roller ball that is easier to travel with. Thanks again for the content!
Great video, Samuel! I have a question - how do you format task list for a day? Suppose you have square ruled page - how would you go about creating a task list for a particular day? Do you draw checkboxes? Crossing out complete? I'm looking for some sort of reproducible template. How do you go about it?
Hello Samuel, I have visited your family shop and I left my card to you, but you were away. Met with your dad, and conversed a while, and I will return and buy a new pen (Faber Castell) circa 80 CHF as my budget is not significantly high. Yes, I can say that without thinking about life, and where one would like to be, writing it down focuses the whole mind; whereas typically typing makes for a lot of pauses, distracted moments and lesser flow of ideas. Through my writing and thoughts, I hope my life continues to get better and I expect, it's going to be challenging. I met my wife, through the net; and through correspondence have made friends and contacts, that enriched my heart... So, I give you some small pieces of advice, Samuel, be true to yourself, and never let money steal your soul, or heart. Philip
How does this possible that 3 different pens with different nibs looks kinda similar and aesthetically pleasing written on the same page? For me it's a mess - even if it's 3 F nib pens.
Please let us know some of those books that changed your life. Perhaps your journey to success is a good way to grow your channel. Edit: by the way, 2025 is the year I am going A4!
