- in this video I'm topping up the DPF aditive bag and cleaning the DPF FILTER on a Citroen DS3.
The car was displaying a message on the dashboard saying: Risk of filter clogging.
Fault code: p1490 particulate filter detected to be overloaded.
SOLUTIONS:
-Do a regeneration
or
clean the DPF filter
Make sure there is enough DPF aditive in the bag!

Great video man. Tiny tip, when pouring from a full bottle like the cleaner bottle you have, do it upside down and you won't get the 'glug glug glug'; just a nice straight pour with no wasted.

Brilliant best I’ve seen l had a big bill for my c3 they put a new filter in and reconditioned the injectors with only 19,000 miles on the clock it looks like it only needed a clean I’m going to do it my self before the mot thanks man that was great 👍

hey, another question is this Fluid fine I read its universal in the euro car part description.
the original is the green type like this but says eolys powerflex. I had ebay seller tell me I need to buy the pouch, but the pouch is and fitting for c3 mk 2 are exactly the same as a ds3.
Ive had this for the last 6 months and ive been using redex in the tank when i fill up . Could i just remove the bag of additive and if so would it stop the display message in my cabin . ??
excellent video, I have citreon c3 2011 1.4 hdi , I've just had additive level too low message show up on the screen, so I'm going fill the pouch up, but not sure how much I need to fill it up by?

Have exactly the same car and the same issue, but can't get the bloody sensor and the 12mm bolt off! Any tips or advice?
Hi, I just watched your video and wanted to ask you soming real quick. I'm about to pay 500 quid on Monday for a DPF removal, cut in half, cleaned and remap as it has been regenerated and the same warning still comes up. However I've runned 2 diagnostic with 2 different garages and the fault code is the same P0420, Particle filter overloaded. Checked with a DPF specialist and they said is the catalytic converter or oxygen sensor, what should I do man? Hope you see this before Monday bro, Thank you in advance

Hey, just come across this video. I have the same car and have the “risk of particle filter clogging” I have a question. I have already replaced the bag with the fluid, the levels are fine and I’ve told the Ecu, so can I clean the dpf and then just tell the Ecu that it’s been replaced without having to tell it about the fluid and without filling up the fluid again?

Question my additive low warning is on along with service light I can get the additive to refill but computer reset is an issue for me so how long can I drive the car for before issues

Hey bud ive got a 06 ford cmax tdci and couple days ago i had a message come up on the dash so i plugged scanner in and got the code P2585 Fuel Additive Control Module Warning Lamp Request so i think mine needs filling up to but over the last couple days the code clears it's self and the message on the dash disappears,Do u think it could be something else or definitely needs the pat fluid topped up.Cheers

@@keb9967 Nope.Topped up dpf fluid then primed it using forscan then cleared the codes and the codes just come bk soon as the engine is started

I have P1445 error on my Citroen. Additive liquid refilled. I also have Autel tool. Should I do that programming of additive level procedure to reset this error?
Program the quantity of the additive in the tank and try to do a regeneration.

@@juliom6260 In my case I went to Citroen dealership. They programmed whatever was required and that was for FREE! Did not expect that from main dealer....
Is it worth to clean dpf or better to replace it with a new one? How long can you drive after cleaning until risk of clogging appears again?
If its fully clean it's the same as brand new

hi I have a DS3 1.6 hdi 110.
today I use my autel tool and it tells me ash level in filter is 98%, I have force regen and although much white smoke come out from exhaust after regeneration still says ash level in filter 98% and total weight of soot is 1.009 g/l.
is this saying I have almost blocked dpf?
I have no management light. but I believe car feel sluggish and rough idle. atm 105k miles not km
I would remove and clean the dpf including the sensor and the reset it.

hi @rick_motorsport i have a 1.6 hdi peugeot partner with risk of filter clogging error then sometimes limp mode. error code p242f and p1490
Sounds like your DPF is partly blocked, and needs just the DPF removed and cleaned, and then clear the fault codes, and also program the ecu telling it the cars had another DPF fitted.
