  • Here we tackle giant ocean Garrick (Leervis) on ultra-light river tackle. As the Sardine run (greatest shoal on earth) picks up momentum so the large pelagics also arrive in large numbers. With food being plentiful due to the abundance of sardines the Garrick can be very temperamental often ignoring the lures we cast towards them. A change up to much lighter tackle can sometimes be the answer to getting the fish to eat the lure. When we do finally hook up it is an amazing challenge to land these large fish on such light tackle. #angling #boat #lighttackle #spinning #transkei #wildcoast #amia #garrick #lures #topwater #sardinerun #easterncape #southafrica #liche

Hi There , great videos ! Quick question we going to Nqabarha TK end August, is it worth trying backline trawling livebait for leerie ?

absolutely, shad works best or mackerel also good. Just watch the surf as that area picks up a lot of swell.

Hi, I prefer the two piece for convenience but got the one piece on a special. Super happy with it.

@@FISHINGTHEWILDCOAST That big bends on the that rod on those big fish you catch, you suggest the 2 piece can handle it .Thanks for your input.

@@candalvictor193 The two piece actually becomes stiffer in the mid section due to the overlaps of the join. I believe the two piece is as strong if not stronger than the single

@@AMROUGH82 The genuine Aquaquad that used to be made in pinetown is by far the best. The knock offs dont operate as well. The hull must have the tri hull shape, as in the two pontoons then the fibreglass hull in the middle. You welcome to send me pics of any you thinking of buying but should test first anyway. The wrong setup can cavitate badly. The mariner/mercury 25hp seems the ideal motor. You welcome to message me if you have any queries. Andre 0833205406
