Read the can - it’s MINERAL SPIRITS, a paint thinner available at hardware stores. With the spray bottle you SPRITS it in the grip tape.

I remove dozens of grips monthly, mainly new grips but the wrong size for the owner. I prefer the bar method over air as i have lost a lot of grips warping and blistering.
I use a bricklaying point tool $10, You can even remove superstroke putter grips.
Club needs to vertical on a bench, use a spray bottle a lightly spray just in side the gap opened by the bar into the grip this lets the solvent search down the grip.Good luck,

I use a syringe to squirt the white spirit in the gap , use far less and it's easier to just put the syringe down no waste or knocking over the cup or bottle.

Syringe is a great idea. Definitely will do that next time I need to save a grip. 99% of the time I just cut them off

Now that I've done a few after the video, getting the mineral in the gap and waiting, it slides right off. I didn't really even need the tool if i let the chemistry work

I try to film my videos like this before I actually learn how to do it the right way. Definitely got the hang of it after a few. I didn't realize how easy it would slide right off after letting it sit

I have taken old grip off and reused them before. However, they seem to always feel a little stretched out and seem 2 want 2 move around?

That was my first and only time doing it with the larger grips. I basically wanted to try all the sizes of the jambo grips without waisting money. But I still have not put them on another shaft. I could imagine smaller, less robust grips deforming a bit. That being said, if I had just let the solvent do it's job the grip would have slid right off and will probably be just fine. So I'm sure it's just in how you do it and how well the grips are made.

It's not really necessary to take the old tape off. Never had any problems

A simple foot air pump after using the mineral spirit should get it off easier.

That's a good idea. My air comprsser hose is literally in the video lying on the bench vice lol. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that

I don’t get what you are doing. I do this for a living. Cut off the old grip with a hook blade. Why save the old grip? Take off the old tape or leave it on . Put on new tape. Use grip solution. You don’t need to use as much as you do. Put on new grip. Make sure it is centered. Take out of vice. Tap grip on floor 2-3 times. Your done. Doing it your way how long does it take you to do a set of clubs?

I've always just left the old tape on. The only reason it came off for this one was that I was trying to save this one specific brand new grip, and the tape happened to dissolve . I cut them off 99% of the time. Takes me a few minutes per club. But as with most of my videos, I filmed them before I had any idea what I am doing. This video was my one and only time pulling a grip, and I had only re gripped one set of clubs before this. So you are right in all accounts. Except some people do want to save grips if they just put them on brand new but happened to not like them.

I also just wanted to try every size of the jumbo max grip and not have to throw away $100

Put a paper towel down on your work bench and spin the shaft little by little

It was literally the first time I had done it. I didn't realize if i just waited 5 min the mineral would have done its job. My sign off on all my videos is "I do it wrong, so you dont have too," lol.
