Awesome video! I downloaded your code which was great. Can you tell me how you link Alexa to trigger Autohotkey? My laptop sits in sleep so I would like to tell Alexa to turn on and then start triggers. Thanks again!
You could use the switchbots to hit your computer power button. That's what I have. You just set an alexa routine to activate the switch bots when you say the phrase
I'm in Scotland so cannot order from Walmart, do you reckon the strength is related to thread count or just something particular about the Walmart Mainstay brand?
I find that the thread count is about as truthful as lumens on cheap Amazon projects. I've used claimed higher thread count and ball blasts right through. I think the mainstay one is claimed 300, so try a 300 count. You can find see if that works. Some people have also had luck with photographer backdrops or Home Depot painters' drop cloth. Every painter drop cloth I have to use, I have blown right through, though
Trying to find your files on your web page. Doesn't seem to be there.
Thanks for adding
On there now
I tried this and ripped a driver right thru it... What kinda sheet material is it? Or is your ball speed slower than 140? That's the speed mine went thru at, not even that crazy..lol
I went through a lot of sheets and variations. I probably spent more money getting to this point than I would have getting a real screen. This is a walmart mainstays king size sheet. And must hang down with a net behind ot that takes most of the brunt force. Watch the original video I made that one explains why it works. I think it title is My impact screen is a bed sheet
This is the only sheet that holds up. Every other sheet I have tried, I broke through right away. www.walmart.com/ip/3501096480
Better that I expected Brother!
I am excited to try the new versions they have coming out soon. Probably replace my trading laptop with this mini PC and use the atomman G7TI for the golf simulator. I just like experimenting
What would cause machine to go faster in reverse then forward. I've replaced wiring harness, pedal, gear shifter, and battery which didn't fully charge it at first. Having it charging now though.
Maybe something in the wiring harnesses. A reverse wire must be hooked up to a FW connection?. Like the FW and rev. Wiring should be swapped.
I just came here to say keep doing what you doing man. I'm searching how to make my DIY screen for projector without spending thousands of money. And on the way I've seen so many crazy expensive setups. But yours is the best because you just want to play golf and you do it, without need of high end.
Thank you. I am definitely trying to help people save money from learning from my experimenting and trying to get the best setup while very budget friendly. When I tell people that with the knowledge I have now, I could build my same simulator with everything you need for under $4,000, including my new higher end projector, they are very surprised.
## Minisforum UM790 Pro Review - Buyer Beware This review pertains to the Minisforum UM790 Pro refurbished unit. While the initial interaction with customer support was positive, the experience quickly soured, revealing concerning practices regarding refurbished products. **Misrepresented Specifications:** The advertised specifications clearly stated DDR5-5600 RAM. However, the received unit contained DDR5-4800. When questioned, customer support claimed "up to 5600MHZ" does not guarantee the system contains 5600MHZ memory. This is misleading, especially for refurbished products, where matching original specifications is expected. This explanation was provided only after Minisforum had admitted it was a mistake to put the slower memory in the system, provided me with replacement 5600MHZ memory and testing had shown that the system would not function with the faster memory. **Deceptive Practices:** Evidence suggests the slower RAM was intentionally used to mask potential hardware issues. The system consistently failed to boot with the correct DDR5-5600 RAM, even with replacements sent by Minisforum and a second set of replacement purchased locally. It only functioned, albeit erratically, with the slower DDR5-4800, indicating a deeper problem, likely with the memory bus or timing. **Lengthy Resolution Attempts:** Despite a proactive approach and willingness to work with customer support, the resolution process was drawn out over weeks. Multiple suggestions, including returning the unit for repair - a nonsensical solution given that the company's prior claims of testing the system and memory had been proven untrue - were offered. A partial refund of $30 was offered and accepted as payment for me not immediately returning the system and taking time to replace and test the memory. This compensation proved insufficient considering that the time and effort spent troubleshooting quickly changed from replacing memory modules to debugging system crashes. I purchased the system based on the advertised specification and required the vendor to meet that specification to accept the purchase. **Questionable Business Practices:** Minisforum's justification for the low price of refurbished units and their inability to bring the unit to specification raises concerns about their refurbishment process and overall business ethics. Claims of selling refurbished units at a loss are dubious, considering the significant price alignment between barebones and refurbished models pricing. Minisforum made a decision to install 4800MHZ memory into a returned system in order to "fix" it enough to sell to a customer. **Conclusion:** While the customer support representative was polite, their attempts to resolve the issue felt more like damage control than genuine problem-solving. The experience exposed potentially deceptive practices regarding refurbished products, making it difficult to recommend Minisforum, especially their refurbished units. This, coupled with similar accounts found on platforms like Reddit, paints a concerning picture of Minisforum’s quality control and business practices. **Recommendation:** Potential buyers should be wary of Minisforum's products and support especially refurbished products. Buyers should research Minisforum throughly and consider exploring alternative brands. I am returning the unit to Amazon and will look for another vendor. I will update this review when the return experience is complete. Note: I fed the conversation with Andy at Minisforum customer service into NotebookLM and ask it to write this review as an experiment. I have read and agree with this summary. I edited the output for completeness. Had I not used this tool to format the review it would have been much more negative and emotional because I tend to get upset when I feel I have been lied to and played for a fool. Selling me this product thinking I would not notice the problem was an insult. I am happy to post this version because it's purpose is to inform others of the issue not harp on my situation. Rb
Do you think your product will work with the new iPad with M4 chip and keyboard?
I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure there would be a way. It uses a USB A dongle. So, there would have to be an A- lightning converter? Basically, if you can get a wirless RF keyboard to work with it, it should work.
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 cool! Did not know if technically it was possible. The new Apple Magic Keyboard is pretty powerful. When version 5 of Skytrak software comes out hopefully next month we’ll be able to see. Could be a good market for you. A lot of us iPad users will be interested if graphics with Apple’s new M4. Hip are as good as I am hearing.
O, for sure. Once skytrak course plays support hotkeys, it will be a huge win for the wireless control box. Let me know if a normal wireless RF keyboard works with the new ipad.
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 I won’t know until I buy one of yours. If it doesn’t work can I return it?
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 just chatted with Skytrak support. Hot keys should be upcoming update.
Love it. I'll give one a go
How?
Using autohotkey. To click on points of the screen when I hit the control box buttons
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 Yeah I got that idea a bit ago... makes sense.
2:45 don’t worry.. the delivery guy will throw it for you.. 😂
I am just in the planning phase of my sim build. Will definitely be checking you out for one of these depending on my final PC setup in my build. I was looking at GSPro as well. Is there no way to custom map inside GSPro so that there would be no need for joytokey?
Gspro has built-in keyboard hotkeys. So you need joy to key to map the buttons if you are using a USB arcade encoder. My fully setup boxes require almost zero setup and no programming. They use the hotkeys built into the software
Most modern software of any kind allows you to create custom shortcuts for their keyboard commands. In Photoshop you can make copy paste whatever you want if you do not like ctrl+C ctrl+V that is the default. If the box is recognized as a USB input device joykey should not be needed with any other software that allows customizing keyboard shortcuts. That really needs to be suggested to GSPro.
They have some big updates coming, so hopefully, something like that is incorporated into it. We will see
I use a syringe to squirt the white spirit in the gap , use far less and it's easier to just put the syringe down no waste or knocking over the cup or bottle.
Syringe is a great idea. Definitely will do that next time I need to save a grip. 99% of the time I just cut them off
Nice 👍
Read the can - it’s MINERAL SPIRITS, a paint thinner available at hardware stores. With the spray bottle you SPRITS it in the grip tape.
Very Cool man. Also love buttons that make noise
Great video! I’m also wondering about this mini computer you’re running… do you have a link to it by chance? Great setup and ideas!
The mini computer I am using even went down in price like $690 now. It's the UM790 pro from minisforum. The 64GB ram version. store.minisforum.com/products/minisforum-um790-pro
This is great, nice job. Would you be willing to share the AHK scripts?
Yea, that's something I will get better at. Ill. just create a section on my website to download all the free hotkey files I make. Give me a few days. I have multiple computers and multiple hotkey files all over lol. www.bacustomproducts.com
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 Awesome, appreciate it
hey how much room do you need behind the bedsheet setup? very interested in doing a similar thing myself. love the cost effectiveness, and honestly, eco-friendliness of never needing to change the screen with this.
Really depends on the net you have behind and how tight. I have about 24 inches or so behind it. I'm sure with a tight net, you could get away with 18- 20
My bed sheets take a pounding as well.
Lol
Pretty cool mate, nice job, I’m not tech savvy enough to get that kind of thing sorted but well played 👏👏
Don’t know what’s going on but still here for it
Yea.. this was a snip from another video. Made it into a short to send to someone who said to aim in the skytrak course play software ( simply use a mouse). So, without context, it's weird
The gear your printing out,is it the 10tooth/54tooth one?
I print all of them. But yea, the 10/54 is one I have that works well.
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 do you have a link I can buy one from ya?

Just go to the main page and scroll down and click on the picture of the ride on. Not sure why it linked just the store. And not the gear part's
Ok awesome I wana buy the small gear I think it's called in the gear box...its the one that's a 10tooth/54tooth for realtree utv 24v
any specific thickness sheet that you used?
Just the Walmart brand sheets I found to hold up
Great video! What projector do you use?
That was my old projector it was some random no-name brand $185 one from Amazon. Right now I just replaced it this year with the optima GT2100HDR
Stupid question but do I need to up the motors if I am upping the battery to get increased speed? Also what battery do you recommend
This is a dumb question but you have to change the motors if you're upping the battery to increase the speed correct? Also if you're upping the battery can you link the battery you purchased? Do I need to do anything different with the battery install for the updated 20AH hour or whatever it is?
I think I have the battery link in the comments somewhere. But any on sale universal 12-volt batteries from Amazon will work. Just find the highest amp hour you can. If you are upgrading the voltage as well, it would be wise to upgrade the motors as well. Check out ML toys they have upgrade motors for this specific vehicle.
Love the video, is there anyway you are able to share for Projector settings such as aspect ratio, Keystone dimensions or anything else you changed in settings? If so would be greatly appreciated, trying to set up mine and having a bit of trouble looking good on screen! Thank you!
4:3 aspect. H keystone is -2 V is ,-6 And 4 corner correction is just brought in or out to fit the entire screen.
Any problems with removing that many trusses for extra swing space? Need more room to swing in my garage but worry about stability if I remove too many. Great ideas in your sim!
So I would never recommend removing tresses. I technically did not remove any tresses I only added. This is an old barn, and all I did was build my own 2×8 and 2×6 tresses where years prior, the old ones had rotted out and fell off. Although the way I did this, the roof could hold a tank, it is in no way up to code or insured. If i wanted to do this to my actual garage and not an out building, i would have done it slightly differently. So definitely get a structure engineer to approve whatever you want to remove.
What laser light do you have for ball placement? That's a good idea
That's just normal for the OG skytrak.
Ahh, gotcha
You have small hands.
...I've always had people say Donald. You have the most beautiful. Hands right he hit my hands nobody has ever hit my hands I've never heard of this one look at those hands are they small head.
how do I get one?
www.bacustomproducts.com
Do you have links to the batteries used? We have never done anything like this but our battery died and the reviews for the replacement batties are TERRIBLE. So while digging further, i found this video
ExpertPower 12 Volt 20 Ah EXP12200 Rechargeable SLA Battery a.co/d/4tIIUTz
This is awesome had my son out on our Toyota Helux electric ride on and got about 80 mins use. Def going to upgrade the amps to get more life out of it. Do you have any suggestions on making a portable charging station or just attach a trickle charger to the second set? Im thinking to run both for long adventures and swap them when they get low
Dope man cave.
When the sim costs more than your house. Dope.
I do something similar with a white photographers backdrop over an old impact screen.
It's amazing how well it works and how good it looks. A few others have told me about the photo backdrop as well. Maybe I'll try it one day
@@igolfandimakestuff2629 Works well and if you buy a large enough one and keep it clean, you can just move it around as it may ummm errrr tear or become unusable in one portion of the photo backdrop.
I have taken old grip off and reused them before. However, they seem to always feel a little stretched out and seem 2 want 2 move around?
That was my first and only time doing it with the larger grips. I basically wanted to try all the sizes of the jambo grips without waisting money. But I still have not put them on another shaft. I could imagine smaller, less robust grips deforming a bit. That being said, if I had just let the solvent do it's job the grip would have slid right off and will probably be just fine. So I'm sure it's just in how you do it and how well the grips are made.
First……….. … …. … … ….. Take yur screw out
He's got an all black LTT screwdriver lol. By far my favorite screwdriver I've ever owned
Yeah that screw driver is insanely good
I wish I got the all black shaft one as well. I got this one, noctua, retro for the wife, and the stubby with the shaft extension. Never thought I'd love such a simple tool. I use them every day for my business
@igolfandimakestuff2629 I got the retro one bc it was free shipping on the entire order and i bought like 10 things, the backpack is really nice too. I'm still waiting on the shaft extension. I ordered it but it was on back order til june or July
My wife got me the backpack for my birthday. It goes with me everywhere. They just make good stuff. Clothes are insanely comfortable as well.
really glad you shared several of your junk piles. I have some junk as well but I don't show it in my videos enough. In all seriousness thanks for sharing your build.
I don’t get what you are doing. I do this for a living. Cut off the old grip with a hook blade. Why save the old grip? Take off the old tape or leave it on . Put on new tape. Use grip solution. You don’t need to use as much as you do. Put on new grip. Make sure it is centered. Take out of vice. Tap grip on floor 2-3 times. Your done. Doing it your way how long does it take you to do a set of clubs?
I've always just left the old tape on. The only reason it came off for this one was that I was trying to save this one specific brand new grip, and the tape happened to dissolve . I cut them off 99% of the time. Takes me a few minutes per club. But as with most of my videos, I filmed them before I had any idea what I am doing. This video was my one and only time pulling a grip, and I had only re gripped one set of clubs before this. So you are right in all accounts. Except some people do want to save grips if they just put them on brand new but happened to not like them.
I also just wanted to try every size of the jumbo max grip and not have to throw away $100
Thanks, now I understand
Cool man
What is the model of your old projector? I'm looking for a projector for less then 200
O man I will have to look it's some really off brand random one. I'll check when I get home tonight

I also walk through how to do it in this video
Oooo I like the lanyard idea. I have been redoing and redoing my impact screen
FYI - you can change your graphics settings level for a specific resolution in game by just pressing the comma and period buttons. Comma is one step lower and period is one step higher.
Damn.. that would have been a hell of a lot easier
Any updates with better sheets than the mainstays? Or other equipment
I do have a 3 year update to this video. But honestly, I have not found anything. At least any bed sheets that hold up as well.
@@igolfandimakestuff2629thanks will check it out. Can you link the bed sheet? There seems to be multiple versions
Sorry man, I some lost my Mulligan button, not sure what i did but all the other buttons are working fine. I tried hide UI + mulligan, my keyboard still works
The mulligan button does not work without the hotkey running on this version 2. Version one is plug and play version 2 needs the hotkey running to function. Open up a Word document and press mulligan if you get an m it's working. To get all 15 functions working I had to make the mulligan bot plug and play
I appreciate the help, but I got totally confused with the video. I did figure out how to use this. I found your download on your website that needed to be put in the cart as a zero dollar purchase. I downloaded AHK and then downloaded your program as I opened up your program. It disables the M key on my keyboard and allows the Mulligan button to work on the control box. if you want your M key back, you have to close AHK program. thanks for the control box. Everything is working now
