This may be the nostalgia speaking, but for a 15+ years old show, I think the special effects hold on very well.
That, plus the amazing soundtrack by Goldsmith was one hell of a spectacle.
Good shows don't depend on the prettiness of the effects. Stargate relies on stories and characters (and score). The effects hold up well because there's so much else going on. It's only when the effects are the focus that they don't hold up.
@@Educated2Extinction I'm not saying the contrary. Only that the special effects still seems good to me, even 15+ years later.

That shot of Daniel saving Vala by a mid-teleportation hug lives rent free in my head since I first watched it. I like those two together and even knowing he would probably do it for anybody it's still cute to see him instinctively save her in that one second he had.

The shot of the exploding Korolev might be one of the coolest shots ever. Terrifying and awesome. The Prometheus exploding was just incredibly sad, but having a Daedalus class ship exploding is just next level loss.

Got to hand it to the design team. They nailed the look of the Ori ships, both inside and out is stunning. One of my favourite total designs in all of Sci-fi
Recall when they tried to set off explosives in Thors ships in season 3 and he explained they had “internal dampening fields” that would negate them?

I love it when it's a close call, but damn the way Daniel instantly jumps like "oh shit we're actually fucked" is hilarious. Also, Adria is that girl from Silent Hill and Dark Matter.

Yep. I wish other reactors would do Stargate, but sadly its only been Failwhale. It will be sad once this comes to an end, but we can be glad it happened

@@Kaykayoc I saw 1 dude who made it to season 3 and stopped. Theres 2 more i can think of who (my personal opinion) arent as exciting to watch. And the only other i can think of is Blind Wave who only did the movie. I wish they would do the show, those guys would adore it

"This is the New Testament" - Pretty sure the Ori are Abrahamic in model, following gould/Egypt asgard/Norse links and whatnot.
Remembering watching this for the first time, and I did the same thing... made up 10 good ways I thought this could go... Also, the Christopher Judge haircut is unforgivable and would have gotten someone fired if they all weren't so burnt out.

You know this is the last season. We didn't and we didn't see the cancellation coming. It still hurts. All least we got a few movies.
Asgard beaming weapon take advantage of the shield fluctuations. Ancient technology should be compatible and similar to Ori. Asgard did have more knowledge about Ancient shield technology than SGC. Even rogue Asgard ship in Pegasus Galaxy manage to penetrate Atlantis shield without problem.
The ship that penetrated Atlantis shield by the Aesir was an Ancient ship, that is why it was able to pass through the Atlantis shield.
Daniel is like Kenny in South park.
Have you seen Fringe? That's a great sci fi show with the guy who Played the governor in Camelot. He's a wonderful actor.
It still feels a bit selfish how Daniel escaped from Korolev. They could have kept that Russian ship like it was damaged beyond repair. It was sad to see Colonel Chekov who was a great supporting character since season 5.
There were no words about the Asgard ship in the battle.
I kinda disagree here. The Battle of the Supergate wouldn't have been as much of a gut punch if the humans came out of it without losses.
And I'm pretty sure it was mentioned the Asgard ship was destroyed in battle.
@@VelociraptorsOfSkyrim I mean the Russians were redshirts. Audience cares only about the main heroes. Like they could have put an extra Russian soldier in Cam's x302 too. At least they mentioned a few of them were emergency beamed out.
@@Platschu You do have a point there. Part of me thinks it was a bit of a holdover from Cold War animosity, since Stargate did start not too long after the end of it.
@@VelociraptorsOfSkyrim They blackmailed the Korolev out anyway so the Russians were always in the grey frenemies category. So they had an inexperienced crew. Just it is a bit odd dramaturgically how the two Americans escaped. Anyway it is just a tv show.
Off. The Scourge was also horrible when the whole base died and then the team decided which movie to watch at the end.

IMHO, the best space battles are in The Expanse and Starship Troopers, although the ones from time to time are realistic.
I just binge watched all SG1 over the last 11 days only got 6 episodes of season 10 + the 2 movies to finish up... Glad I have them on DVD so I can rewatch em anny time witch is on average once a year over the last 9 years.. since I got all SG1 , Atlantis, Universe, Star Trek Original, Next Generation, Voyager, DS9 & Enterprise on DVD after getting my inheritance, never would have been able to afford them otherwise 😊
7:23 I have to admit again and again that in this scene, Mitchell reminds me more of Chricton than of Mitchell, especially because of his famous Simple Answer line

"left docking bay out of action" - and this is why the writers of Stargate I call _lazy_ . First off, a _ship_ should be run as a naval force, not an air force. And here is an example of why it matters. The phrase should have been _the _*_port_*_ docking bay is out of action_ . "Left" is an orientation based on the human body. "Port" is based on the hull of a ship.
the fact is, there are people who succeed, and people who fail......and success or failure is not dependent on practice.......the practice allows others to see who will succeed, hence, who is optimal for success.
