My special needs son really likes classic trucks like those he says they don't make them like that anymore but wishes they would with no microprocessors in them just pure mechanics with simplicity and character.
I happen to have a 76 j20 with the Quadra Trac, and, honestly, it functions word for word of what the comercial says. It works better than even brand new 4WDs and AWDs.
While that is impressive and I love old Jeeps, a lot of "Off roaders" these days are bad. Current model Grand Cherokees or Cherokees are not impressive vehicles. They are called "soft roaders." The last true 4x4s are the Wranglers, Defenders. The FJs even suck! But keep having fun! I'm sure your pickup runs with the best of the Wranglers!
is that not the model that has constant 4 wheel drive . That 4 wheel drive wore apart because of coarse people drove them on clean clear roads . Is that not right about the J 2000 . I owned a J10
Great old commercial, just love this heritage materials. Since the QT evolved in early 70's, , the Jeep enthusiast guys has created excellent upgrades for the running gear. Like the Front locking hub Add-on that isolate the TC drive forces so we aren't dragging it around when not needed. And the Quadra-Trac OEM cone-Hub set-up, converted into the new design inner splined direct drive HUB. A replacement pieces to further make it, the OEM QT case , durable and remove the unnecessary drive force to front wheels. Lots of great wisdom out there ppl have created for Jeep enjoyment.
@texaskev09 Thanks! These were the days when American iron was really unique!! At least Jeep is keeping up with most of that originality in the Wrangler series... just wish that they made a diesel!
@jeepjseries Hell, those things were rust-flappin' in the breeze by 1979(as were the rest f the domestic trucks on the road). Hard to find one of these trucks even moderately intact here in the Midwest/Great lakes region.
I'm replying to a twelve year old comment to say that I love that you know the voice actor's name. Interesting that you can recognize it like that. I kind of assumed that, back then especially, there would gave been a ton of guys just duplicating a standard narrator voice that producers wanted. I get that everyone will have their individual characteristics of their own voice and all, though....
Our J20 finally dropped dead :( After 38 years of abuse (14 as a towtruck, 24 as a plow) the transfer case split and the transmission let loose. Ours also had quadra trac appearanly, and I actually had it hoppin pretty good ramming thru all the hard pack we had and used the deluxe padded headliner LOL
Sorry to hear about your loss, but as long as the frame and body are in decent shape I hope that she gets a donor drivetrain. There are plenty out there.
The drivetrain was the only good part left. It had holes in the floor pans and body, no working lights or gauges, the motor would need rebuilt, and the inerior was shot. If it's not already crushed, it'll likely be a donor vehicle, although I'm not sure what could be reused :(
this is a grate truck I have a 1973 j2000 with 360 v8 2 bbl carb i live in Oregon last winter i tried to get it stuck and couldn't on worn out tire and just using 4h... and used it for lowering a big chunk of walnut tree limb and did grate
Many construction workers avoided the Jeep pick up because you couldn’t load 4X8 sheets of plywood because the bed space between the fenders were too narrow.
Unfortunately no. I'd still like to find more 60s-80s commercials, but it seems that no one seemed to think that they would be worth archiving back then. I'll post more when and if I find more.
On 4 wheeldrive only jeep have the vehicule what you need made to many hunters fishermsn rangers & more people whose love 1941----2022 willys jeep 😍😍😍😍😍I love 1941---2022 willys jeep
If FCA every got their heads out of the sand and built a proper two door regular cab pick-up like those again they would sell like hot cakes . Just put a ultra good powerful engine in them that runs on diesel and get good mileage. Forget about the bells and whistles just build a real truck for real men
At least back then a pickup was made to haul things and three people max. Now the four door pickups are next to useless as pickups. Just watched some people with one of those ultra short bed four door pickups attempt to help people move. That truck was just plain silly for moving. They are just cars with useless trunks
I have a working (well mostly working) 74 J20 that we use for plowing the lot at my work and im pretty sure i could stick my fist thru most of that truck lol. I keep telling the owner to take the carpet out so we can salt while we plow. although i have to admit, we can't kill it, and we're not gentle with it.
Wait, did he say Quadra-trac gives improved fuel economy???? ROFL!!! I loved my '74 J10 with the Quadra-trac, but I can guarantee it didn't help with fuel economy over my '85 J20 with the NP208. Of course the '74 was spinnin' a bored, stroked 401 and the '85 is only a mildly built 360, so...
Exceptional riding comfort? Well, if you go off road in a 7600 gvw model, you'll smack your head on the ceiling if you don't wear your seatbelt going over the bumps. But it does have squishy seats...
EVERY ONE WHOSE HAVE OLDER WILLYS JEEP ME AND OTHERS OWNERS WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH OURS 4 WHEELDRIVE TRUCKS BY JEEP PICKUP TRUCK WAGONEER CHEROKEE JC5 JC7 WRANGLER SINCE 1941 WHAT GREAT FEELME DRIVING AN 1960+++1985JEEP BY AMC DIMLER CHRISLER FROM USA

They should have kept the JEEP *GLADIATOR* nameplate for their FULL-SIZED trucks. "J-SERIES" sounds too generic...like they were trying to copy FORD. And "Jeep Truck" sounds even MORE generic. Oh, well, at least the *JEEP GLADIATOR* name is coming back for their new 2009 truck.
Your an idiot. The spare doesn't get rusted like underneath, and have fun in rain, snow, mud crawling underneath your vehicle to try and get the spare. Inside the bed was much better. You obviously didn't grow up back then and have never really been off road.
what a great time to be alive when you could just go down to the jeep dealer and get a new truck like this. 👍
My special needs son really likes classic trucks like those he says they don't make them like that anymore but wishes they would with no microprocessors in them just pure mechanics with simplicity and character.
The best line: "JEEP....Still the toughest four letter word on wheels." lol.....
the most awesome commercial of all time...nuff said !
I have a 76 J10 i know it inside out and when i listen to this commercial i can see all the features its talking about
Thank you for posting these commercials. I have been disappointed in the lack of old Jeep stuff on UA-cam. This is awesome!
I happen to have a 76 j20 with the Quadra Trac, and, honestly, it functions word for word of what the comercial says. It works better than even brand new 4WDs and AWDs.
I don't even have a quadra trac, and it'll mow down 3 feet of snow like it was not even there, mines a 67 wagoneer.

It doesn’t operate better than new 4wds
Raidrax they really are not better.
True that worked!
Rare to find today. Nice trucks
Yes , back. When automotive company’s built trucks better than today’s market of cars
Best pickup I ever owned!
I also owned one and it was great.
is that not the model that has constant 4 wheel drive . That 4 wheel drive wore apart because of coarse people drove them on clean clear roads . Is that not right about the J 2000 . I owned a J10
Awesome how old jeeps just keep right on going!
Great old commercial, just love this heritage materials.

Haha I love how these didn't even come strait when the were new (bed and cab trim line). Awesome trucks though
HKM _ I never noticed that in this video before. Funny as hell though.
I actually have a 1971 j2000 jeep kaiser and i love it ❤❤
Keep it they are going up in price and soon I think will become real collectors items if they are in original condition not modified
I love watching these old truck commercials
@texaskev09 Thanks! These were the days when American iron was really unique!! At least Jeep is keeping up with most of that originality in the Wrangler series... just wish that they made a diesel!
The toughest 4 Letter word on Wheels! Jeep!! Worlds best 4x4 ever made!! Still
Thanks! Its been my pleasure!
Wow, didn’t realize quadratrac existed back then, still the same drive train in my 2007 Jeep Commander.
i had a 1971 J4000 Gladiator. 4 spd. all original, glass was even perfect. had it for 4 yrs. i let my brother use it and i never seen it again.
I owned a 1974 J-10. Awesome truck!
Old commercials are dope
Sweet! I used to have a '73 J4000, I wish I still had it!
This video has more detail than any other, Freaking Sweet I wish I was alive and had the cash to get one of these bad boys on 1973!
You and me both, Austin. I was nowhere near old enough to drive in '73!
18 and on my 4th cherokee so I've got by alright haha
@jeepjseries Hell, those things were rust-flappin' in the breeze by 1979(as were the rest f the domestic trucks on the road). Hard to find one of these trucks even moderately intact here in the Midwest/Great lakes region.
Dang, that AMC line came with lots of motor and trany options. Cool video! Love my 08 Rubicon!
Neat, thanks for posting. I just stumbled onto a j2000 1971 in Red, great shape, running. I want it!
Man, Jackson Beck had a great voice! He did voice overs for Studebaker too

@@567dirt8910 Other greats were Paul Frees, William Woodson and Art Gilmore. Today we still have James Earl Jones.
Man thats a gorgeous truck. Probly gets like three mpg.
Love my 72 j-4000

To day in 2023 I am playing with muy 1969jeep pickup gladiador bu tonka mini tonka states 😊😊❤❤
This truck is so macho it has Buff interior.
Nice truck👍. See the kid hanging trusses? My brother still has his just like the one shown for over 40 years.
had one same year same color a great truck
thanks for posting!!!!!!!!
This looks more like a video for dealers than consumers.
I bought a compiled DVD of commercials and old films from Ebay. Let me know if you want the seller.

a truck for real truck stuff!
Many construction workers avoided the Jeep pick up because you couldn’t load 4X8 sheets of plywood because the bed space between the fenders were too narrow.
That's not true. I can slide 49" wide sheets of MDF in my '75 J10. Also have a '64 and '67 Gladiator. No problem with 4x8 sheets.
jeep es lo mejor del mundo

Hello. Yes Amen.
“2” door gladiator
If they were to build that truck again I would buy one provided they left as modern electronics off of the truck
This narrator did a few chev truck promo films late 70s early 80s and s10s lol
They just don't make 'em like they used to.... I wish I could have experienced the better days.. :/
@BrenGun1971 I bought it! Now I need an instrument cluster, a gas pedal, and some bumpers!
My 76 wagoneer gets 13city, 15 hwy with a rebuilt 360 full time 4x4... But i know how to fine tune an engine.
At least back then a pickup was made to haul things and three people max. Now the four door pickups are next to useless as pickups. Just watched some people with one of those ultra short bed four door pickups attempt to help people move. That truck was just plain silly for moving. They are just cars with useless trunks
Had a 72 j 20 put Chevy 350 in it fun
DO IT ..in a Jeep!

Neat video. Are there any Grand Waggy vids on the DVD?
@austinaubinoe You're welcome! My pleasure. Be sure to check out my website listed in my channel for lots more jeep history!
Actually its a 366ci (a 360 bored .030 over stock)
more like a review instead of a commercial lol. 😂😂😂😂
Chrysler should make a Jeep truck like this but would compete with its own Ram trucks 🤔 🤷🏽♂️
That truck had no rear bumper.
But wheres the new improve stereo sound system and power windows..........
These tanks got a respectable 8 miles to the gallon.
My '74 Chevy K20 got 9 on the highway before I put an aero-camper that I built on the back. With the camper it gets 11 mpg

we are jeep - we are so lazy we just slapped the tire in the bed, don't like that - well we make a fricken bracket to hang it over the side.
Your an idiot. The spare doesn't get rusted like underneath, and have fun in rain, snow, mud crawling underneath your vehicle to try and get the spare. Inside the bed was much better. You obviously didn't grow up back then and have never really been off road.
@tromar68 no, they get 8-13 thankyou lol!!!
