Toy Caldwell of the Marshall Tucker Band is one of the greatest guitar players ever, in my humble opinion. I heard before that the Marshall Tuckers Bands song ( Cant You See ) has been played on the radio more than any other song in history, it's a bad ass song!
@@robertthole695 Very true, Toy Cadwell doesn't use a guitar pick he picks with his fingers. Not many guitar players can play like that, it had to hurt real bad.
It's funny, I never thought of Marshall Tucker as a country band. They were a country rock band. And then one year they were nominated for a Grammy as a country act. I saw why of course, but I was surprissed at the time.
I have never heard of Prog Country! These guys are from Spartanburg, SC and are firmly Southern Rock. I grew up just across the state line from where the band was created. They have a great catalog!
Hi Lee toy Caldwell is singing lead in this song but all the live versions are sung by Doug gray the lead singer… Charlie daniels on fiddle… after 50 years the guitar solo still brings a tear to my eye
This tune has Charlie Daniels on fiddle & Paul Hornsby on piano. Paul was a member of Hour Glass & produced albums by Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels , Wet Willie & others. In My Own Way off this same album is a fantastic 7 min. Love song with Paul on piano & the great Andy Stein on fiddle. I've allways liked the way everyone gets to showcase their talents on Marshall Tucker songs. If you love good fiddle listen to Gypsy Fiddle by Cammander Cody. Andy Stein kills it.
Lee You're right. You can definitely hear the Allman Bros influence in this track Especially the rhythm and tempo remind me somewhat of "Jessica" by the Allman Bros. You which you reacted to a live version 3 months ago
Great song + reaction. Keep rocking w Marshall Tucker Band try "24 Hours at a Time". I think it's on same LP. Toy Caldwell died tragically in late '70s.
@@robertthole695 apologies. Thought he died earlier. Left the band early, I just read. Shouldn't trust my memory. Saw MTB + Charlie Daniels Band on stage together @ Woolsey Hall, New Haven in 1974. All played together for 15:00 "The Thrill Is Gone". That I remember.
Arguably the 2nd best Southern Rock Band behind ABB unless you like Skynard's harder sound or Charlie Daniels. They toured often with the Allmans & Dickey Betts always liked sitting in because he liked their country swing & loved guitarist Toy Caldwell, another great who died too soon. Highly recommend their album New Life.
Caught these guys a couple weeks ago at a local county fair, of all places. Guitar dueling was outstanding and the dude on sax/flute/keyboards was integral and silly talented. The vocalist was old and out of breath.
I like your reactions but I wish you would listen to the lyrics more. This is the song you listen to after she dumps you. There was no sadness to these lyrics at all. He was basically telling her to f off and that there is another bus coming any second. This is my favorite song by my second favorite southern rock band. My favorite being the Allman Brothers.
Agreed. Sometimes he talks over an important line or a line of serious significance goes right on by and it frustrates me. Then I remind myself, Lee is young. He's on the fast track journey through the music that was the landscape of our entire lives. Hopefully, he continues to listen and as he ages the songs will make more sense. I remember thinking when he listened to CSN (self-titled) that these songs will hit harder if he stays in tune. He certainly has the pain and heartbreak to qualify the meaningfulness of these great songs. If if makes you feel better, I feel these lyrics deeply and rock and roll music makes me cry more than any other thing. ✌️
Marshall Tucker Band has so many good tunes ... more please
Can't you see........their best song by far
Yes, but the live version, recorded at Shank Hall in Milwaukee.
Country jazz that a genre you don't hear very often
I was blessed to see the Tucker Boys in 77, 78, 79 & 80 in Santa Barbara talk about a live act! Charlie Daniels played at all 4 concerts 😊
Ahhh, music of my youthful teenage years, early 70’s 😎😎
Each original band member had exceptional talent. Some great music from these guys.
I just noticed you're looking happier and happier lately. keep doing what you're doing

My favorite Marshall Tucker band song, great band with a great mix of instruments.
One of the more underrated bands of all time.

MTB are really a country/southern rock/jazz band. Try, "Can't you see, fire on the mountain, take the highway, heard it in a love song.
Great song, great band! Next, check out “Ramblin,” released in 73, there are some lightning fast lead solos in that tune! ✌️
That took me to a happy place! Thanks Ceecee! :)
This is one of my favorites by this band. Check out “Desert Skies” but they have a bunch of great songs. Have fun exploring.
One of my favorite albums of all time. Thanks.
God bless you Lee! How I love your authenticity…

They have a lot of very good songs, there mix of Country Rock And Jazz, is killer, i have seen them a few times, from Very small venues to stadiums.
They do an outrageous fantastic "All along the Watchtower" on the Amnesty International 50 yrs. Album❤️

The song also has that Texas Swing thing going.
Check 24 Hours at a Time from this LP. It’s the perfect road tune. Love this band. Saw them on the Bicentennial. ✌️❤️🎶
Bought this album in 78-79
the incomparable Charlie Daniels on fiddle!!!
Can’t you see
Heard it in a love song
Fire on the mountain
24 hours at a time
So much!
"24 Hours At A Time" live!!
Can't You See and Heard it in a Love Song are my favorite MTB songs! I am hoping you will do some Lynyrd Skynyrd reactions too!

IN MY OWN WAY.
