....interesting perspective. As a resident of "USM" for 12 years I'm still learning. I don't eat out much anymore as I find the quality of food and service poor most times. Sometimes its not about the price you pay but your expectations of what your receiving for ones hard earned. Prices have moderately risen over the years expectantly but against today's exchange rate feels even higher and hits the wallet harder. This is a topic I hear in the wind a lot these days....
I accidentally use my lil daughter account to comment on the video yesterday because I was so excited to see KOH Samui. I apologise the streets look exactly like this people are so friendly Samadekah any massage today sir, madam 😊. Thailand 🇹🇭 lovely place just came back 2 weeks ago. Keep up filming those videos
I've been watching the live cams of the town(?). I want to visit soooo bad. I watch Tropical Murphy's a lot. Ever been? Maybe one day I will be there.....sigh
Great video bud! Very informative!! I'll be visiting Koh Samui the first week of September, staying in Chaweng for 8 nights. Just wondering if you could tell if the prices were about the same and give more insight on how much I should bring to spend. I plan to live it up while Im there (nightlife, food, touring the island, and possibly seeing Koh Tao/Phangan) so you can be generous with your estimate. Thanks for any and all information.. Keep the videos coming!!
Thank you! I've spent a little time in Chewang. I did a video over there that shows a few prices. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/KO-xWEfT7vk/v-deo.html When traveling southeast Asia I try to budget $100 a day if I can. It can obviously be done on way less or way more. That's for everything though. Transport, accommodation, food, drink, and fun. I've probably never spent that much in a day in Thailand though. I'm quite frugal when I'm on the road. Whatever money I have leftover from my budget in a trip, I usually just put it toward the flight for the next trip. Chewang is really cool!! I usually just stay in Lamaii because it's much more laid back and chill. Plus i know a few people that live there. Thanks for watching!! More videos coming very soon!!!
I'd start watching videos about retirement in Thailand if you're not already. There's quite a few channels that talk more about retirement. Just do a search for "Retire in Thailand" in the youtube search bar and dig in. That's where i would start
Most of the things seemed expensive to you. But these days many prices have been gone up everywhere in the world except wages. 😩😩😩 I think you and I are poor. That's why we think it's expensive. Nice video really. You were filming round the hotel I usually staying, Golden sand beach hotel. Users to be good but not anymore. I think. Nice video. 🙏🙏🙏
Wow. Prices a are not too bad... I'm. In Chiang Mai and small Leo is often 60 baht and meals about the same! For islandifd... Samui seems like a bargain
Anywhere from 700 Baht a day up to 2000 Baht a day. Just depended on what activities and what kind of food i ate that day. It can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it
Been to lamai a million times. I stopped eating at the street food area when i saw massive rats coming out off the drain and running onto the carts at 4am in the morning. Never had a bad meal there thou. But just put me right off.
Stayed at Chaweng in the late 80:s. Only small huts on the best beaches. Just a few more expensive ones. No airport. Dirt roads. Only paved road was around the island. Easy lifestyle among the locals. This place become shitty and heavily over priced.

Wow this video blew up. No wonder, you do a great job. I liked it 👍299
Thanks man. Hopefully I can travel again soon and have a few more hot ones!
In the 80's/90's Lamai Beach road through the city was dirt. It was very rustic, a sleepy fishing island. Lots of development since!
Ten weeks and counting to Lamai Can’t wait. Great place.
Have a great trip!!

Some things are extremely cheap there but then some others can cost a premium. I'll still go back. I love that island.

Love it there!!
In the first part of video, what is name of road where market was setting up ?
Had Lamai Road
Happy Hippie sounds like a cool place.
Very cool!
I wonder what he had to cut out at 09:40
The song that was playing in the background had some questionable lyrics so i decided to cut it out
Hey mate, i hope you doing great, what was your daily budget of traveling koh samui
Anywhere from 700 Baht a day up to 2000 Baht a day. Just depended on what activities and what kind of food i ate that day. It can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it
Chaweng has become very expensive destination.

Noted. I completely understand that.
looks kinda cool
Would think that the hunks could get anything they wanted back home....
The locals maybe have woken up to tourists?
All the money that’s going in to that area they should fix those roads
Maybe one day
