Hi paddy!!! Just wanted to share with you the blessing your channel has been to us. My husband has had a pretty rough medical journey these past few years. We have been unable to travel but we turned on your UA-cam videos and you beautiful spirit flows right through the tv. It meant the world to us when we were in the hospital getting treatment for cancer. I didn’t want my husband to get depressed so we traveled through Thailand with you. It was awesome. Thank you so much
Koh Samui is absolutely beautiful, we stayed at the Bandara for 3 weeks, my husband had passed away and I couldn’t face a New Years Eve without him after 28yrs, we flew out on the 1/1/17, I took my 3 children and it was absolutely stunning, We explored the island while eating at little old ladies small shacks, I we had the best tasting food we had ever tasted, the best part was when we went to the street food market’s, we bought everything and we all shared stories about Dad while we ate the most delicious seafood, chicken, a favourite of ours was Alligator skewers, delicate flavours to hot and spicy dishes, it was the perfect way for us to reconnect, laugh, cry and just unite together again, we had my youngest son had shut down so it was an amazing way for us to start healing, I have never been religious but we went to see the mummified Monk and honestly I felt extremely emotional, it definitely affected me it was an amazing experience, beautiful people, amazing sights to see, it will always say with me xxxx
I also stayed at the Bandara with my Thai girlfriend, truly amazing place with great food, staff were so polite & helpful & food was superb. For the money Thailand is tough to beat
In 1997 i spent my honeymoon on Koh Samui since i had loved the island so much but 2016 i went again and was so disappointed - way too many hotels and crowds even a McDonalds on Lamai beach😱…OMG.
The most incredible thing about the magic garden is, that it was all built by one man. A farmer, who started to build it in 1976, at the age of 77! Crazy
Twenty years ago I first came to Thailand, Koh Samui was my sanctuary for two weeks, it is still my favourite place to visit. Samui you will rise again.
Simply Wow !!! Another next level adventure video. The small road to the secret garden was so narrow at certain part and you manage to pass through. Your background music selection and the little flower light droplets on the two european girls meditating sum up everything...
Koh Samui is amazing. My wife and I spent two months at a time there on more than one occasion. The people are fantastic and the vibe is magical. Yes, there were other tourists... but we never felt it was overcrowded. You are privileged.
Ko Samui - the love of my life! 28 years ago in 1993 I fell in love with that island and never get rid of it. Since than every 2 years I visit my old love again. On my bike I explore Samui and always I find new gorgeous hidden places. See you soon again my love! Thanks Paddy for your high quality expressions. Well done!
Koh Samui is just next level plus a million. The first time I've been there, in 1989, the year they opened the airport, there was barely 3 hotels on Chaweng beach and that was it. And the jet propeller plane I took to go there - a Dash 8 - sadly crashed a year later. You're video does really show that this island is so much more than only beaches...
Hey Alain, greetings from a fellow traveler - I was there in 1988 for the first time, too! Also stayed at Chaweng Beach (Noi- First Bungalows if I recall correctly) and I do remember the time when there were only a couple of basic huts to stay at… the island was unspoiled, uncommercialized, no paved roads, just a couple of bars, barbecue on the beach and the Reggae Pub had just opened… it was magic. Loved, loved, loved the island at that time. It really was paradise, and, as we can see from Paddy’s videos, it still is yet with a very different vibe. Now might be a very good time to revisit. Will hop over soon. 🙂
You would not believe how much Koh Sumuii changed between 2006 when I was there on holidays and 2012 when I moved to Thailand permanently ... I still can't believe it myself ... It was nearly all palm trees from the airport to Chawang beach ... Now buildings everwhere in only six years.
Your next level adventures really brings back good memories for me, 25 years ago I was there in Koh Samui. Just as beautiful as I remember. And it wasn't busy when I was there either.
25 years Mark wow ,And heres me thinking iv'e done that and loved the history and the monk wearing sun glasses (i found out why he did )how i would have loved to have stayed there when you was there mate ..The changes 🤦♂️
@@genokemp2433 it’s was such a great time, spent some amazing times with people. The place we stayed at, the owner invited us to have dinner and breakfast with his family everyday. Hardly anyone spoke English, the owner spoke some English. But we had a great time with them.
Koh Ma Beach Resort is the best place on Koh Phangan. Beautiful snorkeling and nice beach with lovely coffee and drinks shop also a great restaurant on the beach next to the river. Enjoy
Brilliant video, thank you. We've just returned from a month on Samui, and we are so thankful we saw this video before we visited. Bao Bab was definitely one of the highlights. Fabulous food... and the kids loved the free paddle boards. We made sure we visited Crystal Bay, and the magic garden was a fab few hours up in the hills. Please keep up the good work.
It's so nice to watch your videos and hear your stories about your trips in the background, while I am WFH even on a weekend. It makes us 'look forward' and so many new places to explore post-pandemic! We all miss going to Thailand, so near and yet so far. Stay safe wherever you are!
I LOVE KOH SAMUI, had been living on the island 2 years and come every year again and again, even in high season when tourists are there (there are tourists all around the year), Koh Samui feels never overcrowded (except Chaweng) - it is like you said one of the most beautiful islands, in special when some have a lot of local friends, or foreign friends who live there since more than 30 years... - as you can have everything, from shopping, beach, mountains, Temples and you will find in every season still a place where you can be alone or just with your friends. Nice video... The speed or better said the short time frame within this island developed from a fishing and coconut farmer 'only' island back 30 years ago to the stat it is now is just incredible, I had been there a long time ago when only wooden bamboo bungalows had been available, no airport and not even one strip of asphalt road, it was incredibly beautiful but it still is...
@@AmiraCelonOracle Lamai area - but it really comes down to what you like - peaceful totally away from tourists but you have to drive a bit for shopping or still peaceful but also near the markets, shops, beach and nightlife, restaurants- if the second is the case - Lamai and its surrounding is probably still the best place.
I will be visiting Koh Samui soon and, I am not quite comfortable yet riding a motorbike myself, but would love to explore the island via motorbike but unable to find a tour to do so. Would you know of any in Koh Samui? Thanks
@@Thirstytraveler41 you do not need to book a tour - just rent a bike. available everywhere and not expensive - I would not even book a hotel or bungalow - just the air ticket - all other you can do there - just read and study a bit - there is information regarding this island on the internet. I totally agree with you that Samui is a great place to live paddy! I’ve lived there before. But unfortunately the current vibe isn’t the usual vibe of the place. It will get busier but still a nice place when a bit of traffic doesn’t bother you. Lamai is probably the place you would love to be regardless of COVID times or not. Lamai is quiet now and quiet then.
Our second home is in Paknam Pran. We spend 4-6 weeks every year, going up to 2-3 months now that I am retired. I can't agree with you more, it's my favorite beach area in all of Thailand. It must be so much better now with nobody there and can enjoy a more peaceful experience than normal High Season. Cheers!!
Oh Paddy my heart was in my mouth watching you drive along that tiny path! This island and your next one are on our wish list, having been to other parts. Loving your day trips . Thank you. Cath and Kevin x
Koh phangan is one of the best islands when full moon is not on. 360 bar is a good recommendation. Also A nice walk from haad rin will take you to leela beach. Around the rocks is a small restaurant and bungalows called the lighthouse.
Greetings from England 🇬🇧 Really enjoyed this video. I had to put sunscreen on just watching 😄😁 The views from the top of that monument looked outstanding. I love the feeling of height. The secret garden looked like a brilliant place to visit also 🙏🇹🇭
Paddy if you like fishing checkout Topcats, it's a fishery about 15 mins from Lamai. You can catch huge, fish, Simon the owner will ensure you have a great day.
Paddy my good man I love watching your videos mate. I sometimes pretend I’m you for a moment then I shake my head and realize I’m still in Canada. One of these days I’m going to come meet you and do some cycling over there and get you on a bicycle my friend. All the best. Keep that content coming 🙌
My first ever visit to koh samui was 2006 I remember we rented car straight from the lovely hut type airport (so brave) after driving left hand drive for years it was a challenge to drive in Thailand on right hand drive for first 15 minutes and cheweng beach was our go to for nightlife
Hi Paddy, fantastic views & roads for your tiny little Honda Dream... Could you pls give us more detailed information on the places you stayed??? I am currently living in Khon Kaen & loved to go visit Samui again... My last time there 1991 😥😥😥 Take care & waiting next level in Ko Phangan...

Silver beach is magic, can’t wait to go back when we are permitted.

Koh phangan is one of the best islands when full moon is not on. 360 bar is a good recommendation. Also A nice walk from haad rin will take you to leela beach. Around the rocks is a small restaurant and bungalows called the lighthouse.
Lamai is family friendly. Those girlie bars were dying way before covid. Lamai is chilled and many long termers did reside there
Amazing video! ❤ Love the new camera and you're getting more creative. 😁
Best thai travel content at the moment Paddy, showing people what’s possible when the world reopens
Look forward to seeing the different parts
Greetings from England 🇬🇧

Paddy my good man I love watching your videos mate. I sometimes pretend I’m you for a moment then I shake my head and realize I’m still in Canada. One of these days I’m going to come meet you and do some cycling over there and get you on a bicycle my friend. All the best. Keep that content coming 🙌

My first ever visit to koh samui was 2006 I remember we rented car straight from the lovely hut type airport (so brave) after driving left hand drive for years it was a challenge to drive in Thailand on right hand drive for first 15 minutes and cheweng beach was our go to for nightlife
