- In todays video we are servicing up the umbilical system - the 6290 and 6499. The 6290 gets autosteer fitted to bring the 23 year old tractor into the modern era, courtesy of Farmteam and FJDynamics. We also finally get CB radios fitted and the 6499 has a nice shiny new compressor on the front for the season, from Applied Engineering.

I got some walkie talkies off Lynn communications in mullingar.
Not cheap at about 300 a pop but there still working and they have been covered in slurry numerous times.
Lynn communications supply great CB’s and walkie talkies - expensive but you only have to buy them once. Items working perfectly after 10 years
That air compressor would make an awesome leaf blower, the poor flowers were nearly blown away😵💫

Get a flow sensor on the dribble bar now and wire in to the gps your be able to give farmers a print out with the amount of slurry spread on each field.
Auto steer in the 6290 Father Phil wont be the only one falling asleep at slurry now great videos guys.

Well done on wiring up the autosteer. Thought you might be carrying around the spreader tractor on the new low loader but doubt it now as you would have to disconnect the pump every time.
Interesting video :) Gonna be nice to see how it works in practice ;) I think you are doing a great job supplying us with videos, so have a good slurry season :) Here in Norway we are still a long way off spreading slurry :)

Your imu (inertial measurement unit) would need to screwed down in the direction stated in the manual as its to give the autosteer precise information of the tractors movement, if it just rattling about it could give false information

CB TALK by Midland is an app for the phone but connects to the CB but uses the phone connection instead. Might be worth a try also. 12:10 hope that steering wheel lines up with the wheels or it will drive you mad lol. 13:10 Go get them then. 🤣🤣 18:54 Wheels to the left of me steering to the right. Is that a song. 25:43 you what💩💩🤣🤣. Least you got ya engineering hands dirty 👍👍👍👍 Top job... sort that steering wheel out my ocd is having a fit 😁

I've just installed the same Autosteer on my Massey 5712, Haven't bought the subscription yet as the tractor wont be doing much until March sadly, just how it is, but can't wait to try it.
Looking forward to seeing more videos on it Phil 👍🏻

Go’s is free but rtk is subscription and the unit only works with rtk

On the 6270 but the others are dry
