      There are lots of good models, but I honestly think this one is extremely secure in the long term while still paying extremely well. Thanks for the compliment, I put a lot of effort into the channel and it means a lot to hear that it's actually useful.

    I went to a national sales meeting for Rascal Power Scooters several years ago in Pennsylvania. I decided to shave my beard off because I'd never met these people before. I showed up and I was the only man there without any facial hair.

      I have a talk with a great customer of mine 6 years ago
      I showed up at her house clean on my buddy on working clothes but look like a uniform ( cargo pants/ white t shirt )
      Second handyman on site to replace the fans on her house
      Did that and a couple of light bulbs in the middle
      One of the fans was noisy
      I tried to fix it second time but motor was bad
      Decided to replace it pay for it so she will be happy and will not call me to get something fixed that was out of my hands
      She was surprised
      Is one of my best customers since and as a designer recommended me to lots of other customers
      The reason is a look presentable and when I do something I honor warranty on the work regardless of what it is
      Look good look presentable but never forget the environment either

    Great info. Really love these videos. With all honesty, this last year I’ve had some personal issues happen (mom passed, dog died, etc). And with all honesty I’ve unknowingly lost some motivation with my business. Reschedule jobs when I’m not feeling up for it and just not working for some people because I don’t want to be around people. Watching these videos is actually motivating… kind of like a re charge. Unsure why but it’s been enjoyable watching these videos.

      I'm really glad the videos are helping. I can't say how I would react if I lost my Mom, but I know it will be the hardest thing I'll ever have to go through. I'm sure she'd proud of you for not giving up completely. I hope you get your groove back, but no judgement from here until you do. Good luck to you sir.

      Best thing I normally do is tell people what is going on
      Busy/tired/where off
      Truth set you free and when you say something it just release you some how instead of keeping all bubble up
      If you are sad is ok if you are busy they will understand and what makes the difference is the honesty

    Great video! Your policy about requiring an adult to be present when you do work at a tenant-occupied property seems very wise. I can imagine all sorts of trouble that your policy would prevent.
    I agree with your choice of follow-through being at the top of the list. There's a handyman who does all sorts of work on my street and he does really good work, but his follow-through is horrible (and the people that use him know it). It's his reputation on my street. He will frequently say things like I'll be back tomorrow morning at 10:00 to complete the work on some job. More often than not, he won't show up the next morning and won't call either. It makes them furious (and rightly so).

    How do you handle working on filthy rentals? I don’t mean trash everywhere and it smells bad. But an actual health risk with mold everywhere, fleas, and rodents. A pm asked me to give an estimate on a place like that and my initial thought was to pass and say “ Sorry I can’t work here it’s too filthy. “ but I instead increased the estimate 2x because I didn’t really want to do it. Pm has since ghosted, did I mess up?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  Рік тому +2

      That's unfortunate but I would have done the same thing and I have done the same thing. If a place is truly a health risk then the property manager should expect that. Like I said, I would have done the same thing and I have done the same thing.

    You mention not working on a project if there isnt an adult there if it is an occupied residence, which makes sense. My other thought is maybe recording your work and saving it to your CRM? Is it legal to record inside a residence if its a liability mitigation issue?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  3 місяці тому

      I considered it. After a lot of consideration I ultimately felt that it was too much time and resources for the unlikely possibility that I would need it. To be honest, I'm not fully decided on that. I could easily change my mind if I found the right product that I didn't really have to turn on and off or manage or upload and download etc... I may very well do that someday, but not yet.

    • @braol
      @braol 8 днів тому

      That is their home and most likely not legal to record without the tenants permission. Even if they aren't their, it's still their home. Definitely talk to a good lawyer if you are considering it. It would be bad to turn an accused theft into a lawsuit.

    Do you have a constant time on when you go live or is it random? I would love to sit in on these when they appear! Great information in ALL your videos!

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  10 місяців тому +1

      It's pretty random. My actual handyman business is what pays my bills so it takes priority. Whenever I have the time I step aside and either film the video to post or if I don't have time to do all of that then I just start a live and wing it.

    When you have something like a garbage disposal to work on, do you ask the person to clear out the cabinet before you arrive so that your time is just all work, and what do you do if they haven't or they expect you to do it?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  Рік тому +1

      I usually just clear out the cabinet myself when I get there. It never takes more than 1 minute. I do ask them to clear away things if I'm doing drywall work and I also ask them to clean the toilet if I'm going to be working on the toilet.

    Man are ceiling fan recievers that interchangeable? Ive never had someone ask me to fix their ceiling fan, not that i can recall, they usually just want new ones. If receivers are that universal tho ill keep one in van shit..
