Don't know if anyone noticed this, but the poster said their cat's name is Algonquin, and I know that that is one of the Native American tribes that has the certain type of shapeshifter Loey didn't wanna say the name of in their lore
Most native tribes have some sort of creature like that and none of them say the name. My dad wasn’t superstitious at all but he had told me not to say it when I was young so make of that what you will. Oh and duh we’re First People/Native

@@partlycloudy7707 no not really as long as your not invoking them and just mention them to educate, the windy boy is the Wendigo, a native American lore creature that craves human flesh and may lure you out by taking on the voice of a loved one. The flesh pedestrian is a skinwalker, a witch that can take on the appearance of any animal, they are considered frightening, evil, ,dangerous, and hard to kill.
Okay about the “wendy boy” thing- and correct me if I’m wrong- *they’re not deer*. A lot of Algonquin people have spoken up about how (mostly white) horror fans have misrepresented the w-word creatures and it’s so frustrating to see misconceptions about this myth be spread (I’m not Native American but I strive for a better horror community!)
Regardless it’s not real so if they are upset over a fictional creature that’s their own problem

I like the way the dude is going about things. Instead of constantly posting videos of bizarre over-the-hop happenings, he’s subtly acting them out as if they’re happening live and then explaining them out. To me it makes it seem more realistic, more believable…if that makes sense. I don’t know but I’m diggin’ it.
In regards to the deer it is not a Wendigo because Thier not shape shifters, it could be a Fleshgate, often miscalled a Skin Walker but there are major differences between the two.
Skin walkers creep me out !

@@ThatOneLadyOverHere a Fleshgates is a different king of shape shifter, while with the Navajo Skinwalkers wear animal skins and only change into dogs, coyotes, deer and such, a Fleshgate is able to change into almost anything including humans. They don't have to kill and skin someone, they just need a little DNA to take the form

You aren’t supposed to say the names of either of those creatures. It attracts them to you.
Just want to put it out there that the "wendy boy"s don't look like deer, don't have deer heads, don't have antlers, nothing of the sort. That was a representation by a white film director for a horror movie and horror fans then took that representation as what it is meant to look like. Pretty sure they appear more human.
The wendy boys are more human. They are really tall and pale. They mimic sounds (not sure about visuals) to attract their victims. I'm still learning about them, so that's all I have for now. lol

But yea, no antlers, no skulls. Just pale, tall humans who can mimic others, lure prey in, are very persistent and I dont think you can get rid of them?

The Wendy Boys are actually more human in appearance. They are really tall, pale, and skinny. I'm not sure about visuals, but they do mimic sounds to attract their victims. They are normally found in the woods or forests (whichever you wish to call them) and are fairly efficient.

Personally, I am still learning about these things too, but SKIN WALKERS are the ones that attract people. but I don't think that it could be a skin walker because there were no noises attracting him into the woods, instead these noises seem more like they're trying to scare the poster away from something.

Yaaahhhsss! Faerie lore is such a cool concept that is so often ignored by those interestedin the paranormal and storytellers alike. (If you wanna see a good spooky story with fae as the antagonists the TV show Torchwood did a really good job with it - though if you wanna watch just that episode you might want to do a wee bit of reading on the premise of the show)

As a person who likes drawing creepy stuff, I can totally see the charm of those masks. If it was mine, I would name the first one Fredrick.
So first I have to say that Ze might, at least for this ARG, practice magic. I mean, he asks if anyone can read the first one's energy and he seems at first to be very casual about the unknown. If there is a shapeshifter, perhaps the masks are symbolic of that?
Uncanny valley. The face is too realistic, but just altered enough to elicit a negative emotional response. An ARG is basically a creative social experiment. Present the audience with the subject, in this case a mask, and let them speculate themselves into a frenzy. The story practically writes itself.
That's the way a lot of the ARGs on TikTok seem to be, though it's a much larger genre and has some really well done stories in it.

7:23 Just a heads up, you said “windy boy” probably referring to wendigos however I think you’re confusing wendigos for something more sinister. Skinwalkers. They’re the ones who shapeshift, not wendigos. And from now on I will only refer to them as SWs because they’re the ones whose names you don’t want to say often, especially at night.
But I’d just thought I’d tell you because people confuse the two of them a lot when the only similarities they have are they’re from Native American folk lore.
A quick Google search confirms (in over 300+ articles, some from actual historians) that Native American "Wendigos" most definitely shapeshift. Not often. But they do. Also, while these creatures originated in Native American culture, there are over 1,000 cultures that have their own "Wendigo" & the majority of those also shape shift.

10:54... a few minutes before this when you were saying about the deer that walked past his house and that it might have been a skin walker or a windego. When the barking/shouting started coming from the woods, I remembered reading that skinwalkers are known to make noise such as barking or shouting to attract people to them... That's so creepy😰😟
I don't know about you but if I heard barking/shouting I'm staying as far away as possible. Who knows what kind of spooky crazy things you'll find.
IDK why but those masks remind me of tiny clown looking masks that my mom used to hang up on the wall for decor, it was the 90's totally weird but I swear lots of people had them. Instant flashback of how I would run past them in the hallway haha!

UPDATE: This ARG ended in the beginning of December 2021. Pretty sure Loey won’t do an update because unfortunately the story seemed to have fizzled out. I could be wrong or missing something though. I’d love it if I was wrong because I was excited for this!

Watching videos like these always makes me want to make an ARG/unfiction myself but i wouldnt even know how or where to start. But so many of the best ARGs came from average people who didnt know what they were doing either and that does inspire me. They just seem SO complex to make if you plan on having coded messages and stuff. I just heard about the “hey peebrain, you teleport?” tumblr ARG and that was made by two teenagers who just started it as a joke. In some ways that makes me feel even more lost on where to start through since it seems to come so naturally to the people who make them but it does not come naturally to me
