  • In this video I showcase the new PiBurn Grip by lens digital. I will show you how to set up the template in Lightburn, load the grip with the batt and see how it engraves. We talk about how to easily get the batt to true itself. The GRIP is mounted on a PiBurn v4.0. This is a fun little project

Well done report. Nice and clear instruction and I like the way you demonstrated what happens if you tighten down too tight on the chuck.

Thank you Rob, it’s amazing how little changes in Chuck pressure you can go from not workable to perfect! Thanks for watching

I know it does not relate to is video, but could you do a best practices video on lining up materials to be cut? I know lasers cut perfectly (most of time) but my issue is in placing the material to be cut, etched, or engrave perfectly square in the bed to get the most accurate cut. Being off just ever so slightly can cause my job to look unprofessional. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Nova 63 user.

the best approach I’ve found is always generate a layer to illustrate the wood or product that your putting in your laser. example if you wanted to engrave on a cutting board you would draw a 16”x12” rectangle and put your graphic in that rectangle turn the output off when sending to the laser. use user origin and set your start point

Great video, explained very well! I'm in the market for the Piburn. I want the grip, but do you recommend getting the Omni so I would have the rollers as well? Do you find you need the rollers?

yes if you get the Omni there is very little you can’t do. that’s the setup I have and love it.

How old is your Thunder laser? I have the same one I got it about 4 years ago and love it.

I wanna get this but do you recommend get the 4.0 with the grip or just the grip alone?

If you can afford I would bot that way you have a backup. I’ve used the grip on all of my normal tumblers and it works just as well as the rotary. If you can only afford one I would’ve the grip as you have many more options. Use ComputerCreations in the coupon code to save some money!

Hi Robert! With Omni style setup, is it possible to engrave a regular/standard size bat? Thanks.

If your laser is wide enough to accommodate the full size batt I don’t know why not. Allot of league won’t allow it for batts that are used in games
