I agree with you except for the fact that this must remain horizontal, so it's incumbent upon the user to lift the entire log onto the table, that, or purchase a separate mechanism that lifts it. The lack of vertical splitting is really the only thing that makes these less popular. I've been considering a re-design to make these vertical, but it only exists in my head so far :)
how much does it chew the gears during the engage. brilliant idea, can split a log swinging an axe but youd never push it thru the log, should take a lot less energy
Quite a simple design. I haven't seen that before, will have to keep a eye out at p a . I'd be curious how the gear holds up at the engagement point. I guess as long as there little load not right against the block it would be ok
I think there are about 5 different numbers on the belt, what I have done elsewhere to get a belt length is to wrap a rope around the pulleys and then clamp the rope ends together with a vice grip, then I took the rope with clamped vice grip to the store so I had a length sample.
Great explantion video. These splitters should be much more popular than they are being so powerfull and fast like that.

Are you no longer heating your home and shop on sunflower shells?

Whatever happened to the long travel suspension build and the cr500 videos

Been binge watching for some reason UA-cam hasn't been giving me notifications thankfully we have return springs
Maybe I am shadow banned?
Do you have the dimensions for the Belt. Mine is to work to read the dimensions on

A very expensive type machine. Much more than a hydraulic system
Also here is video of this log splitter in use. ua-cam.com/video/qhFy-HjpBpY/v-deo.html
