A drop dead gorgeous trail, otherwordly, like being in a fantasy novel. You really can't believe this is in North Carolina, it's so vastly different from forests at the lower elevations.
I'm working on being more creative. I feel that I never get it just the way I really want it while I'm hiking. It's a balance of trying to enjoy the hike and trying to capture the best parts, then I worry I didn't capture it in the glory that I felt it was in person. I guess we can really never make it as good as 'in person' but I'm trying to get as close as I can to that.

You will absolutely love this one.. nearest to the top of the summit, forks left just as you are coming up toward the top of the summit... comes back out where you parked your car... it is beautiful!
Your dad didn't have his hiking pole with him?? Were you on vacation in the mountains when you made all these videos? Very nice! Must bet getting pretty cold by now, but the scenery looks breathtaking! 🧡 🧡
You are right. We took the summit trail first and the trail was concrete so we didn't need poles for that, but we found this trail coming down the summit. I haven't been using my poles much but Dad needs them especially in the mountains. I don't think he used them that entire weekend of cramming trails in. Craggy Gardens is coming up on Saturday's video!
When Dad's around there's so much talking that a bear would hear us from a mile away! I always carry bear spray with me, but never expect to use it. Most bears do not want anything to do with a human. I'd only have to use it for a stalker bear or perhaps a mad momma with cubs but even a momma usually gives you a chance to slowly back away.
Very nice
Thanks

I 💯 agree!
This warmed my heart, I used to take my mom on short hikes before she passed away. Love this!
Really cool trail, great your dad could smell the freshness 👍🏻
Wasn't that amazing? He has not smelled anything since then either so I don't know what and why he could smell there. That that was really cool!
I have hiked this trail at MMSP and absolutely loved it, it is one of the most gorgeous trails ever.
I agree! Thanks for stopping by and watching my video!
The stairs photograph turned out neat. Nice looking trail, reminds me of the ones in New England.

This looks like a nice one! I've marked it in All Trails so maybe I can check out this weekend.

You mentioned bears...have you ever seen any on the trails? Are you prepared if you do? 😁
