- The Pontiac Vibe is made under a joint manufacturing agreement between Toyota and GM. It is identical in almost every respect to the Toyota Matrix. However some components are different between the two models. The AC for the Vibe uses GM components different from the Toyota components in the Matrix. This video shows some of the differences including the location of the drier behind the bumper cover and the different GM-style gaskets used in the Vibe.

Interested to know why the a/c system is different in the GM product, I suspect it's cheaper for GM to use. I own a 2zz corolla in Australia with the Toyota system, what do you think is the better system? I wanted to see the Toyota dryer in the video not knowing it was different. Just a desiccant bag made by Denso.
Well considering I've seen many gm compressor failures on pontiac vibe and no matrix/corolla failures, I would say... you be the judge. LOL.
@@Merryfrankster_ Can I use a Matrix compressor on 2005 Pontiac vibe? Does it work with the Pontiac vibe.? Mine just stopped working today.

Great video. I have this exact car and this exact issue. Do you think this is possible to do on my own or should I trust a shop more? The shop I wanted to go to wants me to pay over $1000 for this fix which is just too much for me
For far less than $1,000 you can buy all the equipment you need - vacuum pump, gauge manifold, recovery pump - to do your own ac work, and never have to pay an ac shop again. Look on amazon.com for an ac repair kit.
Hi sir, i have a question about my car (corolla ts 2zzge engine). Is normal the air pressure without smoke from oil cap when engine works? (I have 70.000 miles) when replace the oil cap then dancing in valve cover, is normal or not sir?

Exhaust gases that pass through the piston rings go in the crankcase - this is called blow-by. Some small amount of blow-by is normal. The PCV system should take the blow-by gases and suck them back through the intake and into the cylinders, to be eliminated. However if the PCV valve is defective or there is a blockage in the valve cover then blow-by gas has nowhere to go. Maybe this is what you are seeing when you open the oil cap with the engine running.
@Merryfrankster_ understand sir. So in all cars some pressure is normal from oil cap righ? Even a new? Also I don't see smoke only air, this can be normal air pressure from crank rods and pistons moves ? And not from exhaust gauses (loose piston rings)
