"Ubisoft...Ubisoft never changes." The Fallout guy probably
That “guy” is Ron Perlman. You hear that dad! Your one and only son knows who Ron Perlman is and there’s nothing you can do about it!!
@@patrickgonzales2382 no thats john fallout
The funniest thing is - Ubisoft is so incompetent they can't even catch the trend in time. It's bad enough to chase trends, but it's just downright hilarious to miss them by 3 years lol
Unless they are trying to make a show of how inept they are
Ubisoft speedruning bankruptcy any% at this point.
Damm if ubisoft can still exist until end of 2025 is truly a miracle. With how many wrong decision they do.
That is just... embarrassing. That is legitimately one of the most uninspired, inept, ugly, unfun looking piles of shit I've ever seen. I'm starting to just believe ubisoft has been doing nothing but launder money for the past 15 years. Keep in mind they havent given us a rayman game in over a decade... something people actually want. And then they give us this.
i dont think anyone wants rayman anymore. not after seeing all the slop theyve put out, dont want them to ruin that franchise anymore
Its brilliant if people are stupid enough to play it then its smart of a company to do it. Blame the consumers
@@soulcleave2386mario and rabbids dlc makes me want rayman
Meh, if they'd release a Rayman game today, it would flop, because it'd be a 3-hour-long game, sold at 70 dollars, with a hundred dollar deluxe edition, require you to be always online and would be exclusive to their stupid launcher for like half a year minimum, and would run like a snail, because it's had Denuvo on top of Uconnect.
@@soulcleave2386 "ruin that franchise anymore" implies they've made a bad Rayman game. Origins is one of my favorite games of all time and Legends is a flawed masterpiece if you ask me and only really held back by clunky controls and occasional level design that seems to aggressively want you to have a bad time... wait they made a mobile game didn't they? 🤦♂
I seem to have completely erased that from my memory.
noone can ever convince me that that's supposed to be a game and not some money laundering thing
They canceled XDefiant after they dropped that huge update but let this go through. Make it make sense Ubisoft. 💀💀💀
They are driving their value down for a buyout, at least that's how it looks.
@@Sagan_Blandard20XXYeah, its definitely gotta be that tbh. Honestly the only thing that makes sense for it.
Xdefiant wasn’t cancelled it good the concord treatment
@@CmoIsDaNam3i they are seriously steering into iceberg after iceberg. Shit seems transparent
It's a shame seeing what they had coming up the line. Meanwhile, other games are just allowed to exist and get content updates even when they're losing money and players as well.
I remember Luke mentioning the possible use case for NFTs for transferring games before. If developers wanted it they could make licenses transferable without NFTs. The tech does not add any new capabilities, just a new way to monetize it.
Blockchain technology literally has nothing to offer in terms of practical, functional usage for the average person.
Blockchain technology would only be useful in the aspect that it's universal. If you wanted to sell your license for a Ubisoft game, Ubisoft still has the right to revoke it. But if done through something like the blockchain no one owns it except the person that does. That's what it means to be decentralized.
@@crimsonsea9985I mean, couldn't Ubisoft still revoke it even if done through blockchain??
@akmal94ibrahim no, the point of the block chain is that it's unregulated and untrackable and not owned by anyone. So if you had a key for a game that came from the blockchain they couldn't do anything about it.
Damn. Once i saw that gameplay...they did it. Ubisoft is saved.
This is gonna demolish marvel rivals. That doesnt even have nfts.
😂
Ubisoft be like: "Why does everyone hate us so much??" 😢
Literally everyone: "Gee, idk Ubi, what could it possibly be?" 😑
they just cant stop
They can't stop the outpour of slop
CS skins were NFT before NFT was even a word. Every studio wishes they could replicate cs skin economy.
Pretty much
except those actually have uses
CS Skins only work because CS is a game that people want to play.
The game is so good and attractive mechanically that it survives Valve's shitty practices and terrible matchmaking.
@@LightningRaven42 this is what crypto bros and companies seemingly keep forgetting, they need a fun game first before they can sell people stuff
The original idea of nfts in games was that you could use them in other games interchangeably, even though that would be a copyright nightmare. Now it’s…owning your assets?
It’s funny watching someone’s decision years ago play out right now
Boy, Ubisoft doesn't know how to cancel bad games these days. What is even the point in thinking that this "might" work at all? If the first NFT doesn't work, then what makes you think this one will be any better?
This is on purpose. There's no way they aren't purposefully tanking stock rn.
WOW! That game gave me a flashback! Fifteen or so years ago there was a free flash game that had multiplayer. The characters were stick figures but otherwise the gunplay and movement look exactly the same from my memory.
watching the Guillemot family try and milk ubisoft "stop. stop. it's already dead."
This is the problem the biggest problem with the Guillemot family who run Ubisoft especially Yves Guillemot who is obsessed with NFT and it's that obsession that nearly killed the company.
nearly? i think we're actively watching it crash and burn
Captain Laserhawk is exactly what I would expect an NFT game to be named.
Can't believe this is the company that gave old Assassin's creed series, splinter cell series, ghost recon series, prince of persia.
Division 3 better not suffer cause of this shit, massive entertainment needs to move away from Ubisoft and do division on there own, then leaving would honestly give them good publicity
Division 3 is either gonna have a different publisher, or is never coming out. That company will be bankrupt next year.
Ubisoft literally owns massive entertainment, they can't leave or create independent divisions..
Not made by Ubisoft. They just gave the license...
"Ubisoft, try to not embarrass yourself while hemorrhaging ridiculous amounts of money and goodwill"-challenge. Level: Impossible
“I don’t understand we keep making the same choices and we keep failing”
“Maybe we should just fire more staff? Maybe that will fix things?”
I feel like someone at Ubisoft said the words "I dunno, fuck it, crypto" at some point.
Tell me you're tone deaf without telling me you're tone deaf
Consumers: Ubisoft stop!!!!!
Ubisoft: YES
The problem with trend chasing is that you'll consistently be a few steps behind the competition.
Remember Battle Royale? Ubisoft already shut down hyper scape. Not to mention the many cancelled projects Ubisoft wasted time and money on only to underwhelm prospective gamers.
The only reason anyone is interested in the block chain is to make money. That’s not a good basis for making a video game.
Ubisoft: Where you don’t own the games you buy, but you do own the in-game cosmetics you paid ETH for!
*until the servers shut-down in 6 months
Love how every single web 3 game is outclassed by a flash game on newgrounds from the early 2000s
As someone who is active in the NFT space. Nobody even heard of this, or is hyped for it.
Oh Rayman, I'm so sorry that this was your fate.
Ubisoft must be a Jauwn fan, because they sure seem to be trying to get his attention lately!
they actually turned Rayman into an nft ;-;
Its sad, because i was excited for rayman 4 as a kid after playing 3...i was so naive
The best thing to happen to Rayman was a cameo in Astro Bot
I hate how the legacy of Blood Dragon gets disrespected like this.
its funny that almost every thing ubisoft wants to shit out is either Related to blood Dragon or black flag right now
The show was okay
6:56 Company can get cuts from transfered NFT
They clearly just had a bunch in development that they now don't know what to do with...
Ubisoft clearly wants to fail. There's no way there's a real attempt or enthusiasm behind these projects.
We have Hotline Miami at home.
They also said, if u buy an nft from one game, that same nft, would be usable in all nft games!!
Which would mean alot of work for devs, even devs who had nothing to do with that game u got the nft from!
It would never have been workable!
honestly, the writing was always on the wall for ubisoft for a long time now
"I thought the Captian Laserhawk Netflix series was pretty neat," I said.
"Bullfrog is the best character in the series. I wish Ubisoft would make a game with him in it," I said.
... and then somewhere, somehow, my voice echoed and a monkey's paw curls...
Who is making decisions over there. Holy hell
That's actually Hilarious!
ubisoft is speedrunning the ubisold ending.
Its like Ubi is asking itself how low can it go, then telling itself to its beer. They keep remixing all this stuff for no reason and seemingly going nowhere. They could have just put out another Rayman after years of people waiting.
They don't want to offer you _more_ value via nfts, they want to use them to offer you less.
Probably the first game that i have ever played from Ubisoft was "English with Rayman", a educational game that was aimed for learning a secondary language, didn't learnt much english from the game tbf, cause i was too young, but still have found memories from it. Seeing a company going from that to whatever the fuck that they are doing now stopped being funny and it is just sad to me.
These games must cost peanuts to make otherwise Ubisoft wouldn't keep churning them out with nobody playing them.
Ubisoft: “I’m too lazy to spend my money on making actual games anymore I’ll just scam my cattle customers since it costs me absolutely nothing.”
What a smart thing to do when your company is in literal trenches
I feel like they're actively trying to murder their own company at this point.
Ubi: Players have to get comfy not owning their games
Also Ubi: Customers have to get comfy not owning their crypto
Ubisoft pooping the bed once again
Can we now categorize ubisoft for Crypto game studio??
I mean if you want to facilitate trade between players, steam was doing it for around a decade or so. And it was making big money from it. No blockchain needed.😊
Ray man is in the new free astro bot level too
I'm sure this project is the one where they'll make a lot of money without a lot of work
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
It feel so weird. If Ubi is a human body, left hand is actively trying to choke the body to death why the right hand struggle to stop it
And after 3 min the right hand says… nvm this is pointless. Its so sad seeing one of the former big guys fall. On the other hand FaFo is in full effect and we cant look away and grin.
Still can't really acquire Rayman 2 on any modern store, and yet, they'd rather spend resources on this. Excellent.
I'm a bit ticked off that they're using Captain Laserhawk for this. I actually like the show. There's a lot of potential for a good game based on that. And Ubisoft decided to take the faceless cannon fodder villains, the Temu Power Rangers whose name is a pun based on Rainbow Six, and make them into NFTs. Somehow under the impression that people would want to own one of those.
Ubisoft is broken, man.
Nothing is funnier than the fact that Ubi is clearly going belly up and theyre still committed to releasing the worst products imaginable.
6:04 Actually against Steam ToS. Your idea is equivalent to reselling Steam keys.
If gaming companies were smart, they could actually make money off NFT's and the block chain. As you said, if you buy a digital game, you'd be able to sell that digital game to someone later because it's on the block chain so ownership can be tracked and verified, but I think the gaming companies actually could make money from you selling your digital game to your brother. Just like with any NFT, the originator makes money every time that item is sold. Imagine how positive these companies would be towards the used game market if they made 10% on every used game sold, every time it was sold. That's what they've always wanted, but could never find a way to do. Having digital games basically be NFT's is also the solution to the physical game problem. Remember just before the Series X/S released, it came out that Microsoft had made a deal with Gamestop where if they brought in their physical disc, Gamestop would trade them for a digital copy. Since Series S was only digital, Microsoft was trying to find a way for those players to still have access to their previous library. That's about to be a HUGE problem in a few years. If PS6 and the next Xbox launch with only digital options, all the people who never switched to digital libraries are going to be fucked. Being able to verify and track ownership of digital games will allow players to trade physical for digital. It will also create a used digital market which is a big reason those players stuck with physical. It solves multiple problems.
Interestingly if you only need a NFT to play, you really basically can sell this game to other people I guess.
Also, creating your own market place, letting people sell their items and creating an "infinite money glitch" for people has also been done succesfully.
It is basically the auction house in WoW, and that is why gold farmers exist to make money. It is not like you need Crypto to do it.
But I guess people do not want to deal with the technology and also the games / items are not rare or good enough.
Though I wonder, if Ubisoft had an online game on the scale of WoW and if they would let you buy gold if you buy their Crypto stuff first, what would have happened? Well we are probably in luck they dont have that.
They must have made money on the last NFT game because they just won't quit
OH COME ON! NOT THE LASERHAWK GAME!
Ubisoft we should be ok with not owning games but wants us to somehow own the PNGs of things in said games. Ubisoft where owning is not owning but also is owning.
When will they learn
they don’t need to learn they need a handful of whales to profit
When I think to myself That this developer made one of my favorite games of all time assassins creed 2. As well as one of my favorite characters, and gaming experience of my youth. I kinda get sad to see how it has fallen out of touch. 😮
this is extra scummy when u realize they produced the show laserhawk (which higher ups had very little faith in) it did well. now these useless cfo’s think “ohh money money money” and greedily ask for something nobody wants.
Another NFT game? ...i have no words.
Has the industry learned nothing from the revival of Flappy Bird being associated with NFTs? :S
They must be making money off the 1st one if they decided to make another right ?
Ubisoft is just taking the piss now...
Their leadership must have gone deranged from sniffing farts in their ivory tower.
"BURN MORE MONEY! FASTER FASTER!!!"
They are TRYING to go bankrupt
I just realized businessmen have forgotten the first and most important part of capitalism… you need a DEMAND. mind you they don’t want to leave their company when they sell it. So they know they are trash. Can’t figure out why. But they want to stay after the buyout… please don’t buy out this company it can die. I promise it’s okay. We have nostalgia games.
Of course the quality is on par with the rest of the NFT "Gaming" Industry.
You know, I find it genuinely upsetting that Ubisoft has the means to make a "Rayman 4"... and they're too afraid to do it.
Holy crap this can’t be real
Anyone remember Second Life? Exactly.
One of the few decent things Ubisoft has had in a while. And then the first thing they do with it is turn it into complete uninspired Flash game level garbage
UBISoft keeps confusing me, they do release really good games (Mirage, Avatar, Star Wars Outlaws), and have been for the last few years. But then they release garbage like this, Skull & Bones, and xDefiant. I don't understand this developer.
So this is what they meant by reviving Rayman.
Another Ubisoft game that even less people will play. NFT or not, its time for Ubisoft to sell off their IPs.
It's so funny that other companies are trying to do this 'digital ownership' thing with Crypto because some techbros sold them on it meanwhile what they REALLY want is a Steam Marketplace. Valve makes money every step of the way on transactions, exactly the same as blockchain, *without all the bullshit of the blockchain.* You mention not needing NFTs to do it and mention CSGO but it's just? The incompetency is incredible, these execs are forgetting what industry they are in lol
More than a decade since last Rayman game (eons since an actual good one) and that's how they butcher my boy. I swear... to hell with Ubisoft! Dissolve this shit into the stratosphere, Tencent!
If nothing else, we'll get a good rayman skin for brawlhalla
Just when I think they can’t get any more dogshit, they pull out all the stops.
There are Dreams and even LittleBigPlanet user created levels with more in depth gameplay than that
Ubisoft again? 😂
Of course they did. I mean, why wouldn't they?
Wow! Another NFT slop from Ubislop. It's amazing of them to dig lower closer to company closure.
It’s a cry for help at this point
Ubisoft allways in tuch with the fans we all bin clamering for a nft game with are belovid rayman game
You would have to pay me money to play this game.
bro wtf is even going on
ives is fking up the companys worth so tencent can buy it for 2 eggs and a sprite
