Canon R7 Backyard Birding RF 100-500 Telephoto Lens!

- Using our Canon EOS R7 Cameras and our RF 100-500mm telephoto lenses, Heather and I spend another morning in our homemade blind/hide. ! We had many birds come to the area we set up for the birds to land near the blind and as long as we stayed quiet, they didn't know we were there. Join us as we photograph, Chipping Sparrpws, Mockingbirds, Carolina Wren, Brown-headed Cowbird, Eastern Bluebird, and House Finch.

I can relate. Beautiful captures by the way ! I’m not a young pup and don’t need to prove anything to anyone re: hiking and spending a ton of money on gas pursuing the rare TitterBug Nutty Hatch if it feels like cooperating. Heather and Phil, this is the guilt-free zone and no apologies or confessions are required. I’m with you. Great video. Thanks.😊 I feel better already.😅 We live in a mountain zone type area where the Stellar Jays kind of push other birds out of our yards. They and the Grey Squirrels fight each other for pine cones, nuts whatever.

Thank you, I love them too! I have always been reminded of our Bluebirds whenever I see a photo of a European Robin. They seem very similar to me just with different colors.

Very nice Phil,ass always … could you please,please do an in-depth review comparing the r7 and r6 mark2 on the rf800 f11? I know you did one with the sandhill cranes recently but than rather one video the 2 cameras compared to eachother and what would be your pick on the 800mm if you simply had the money for just one camera. You can also maybe get to this when you go live next time but i do not know when that will be… regards from Ron, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.👍😀
I think in most situations the 800 f/11 is more focal length than you will need with the R7, on the R6 Mark II it is just right.
Hi, nice shots! So for these you used a TV mode with under exposure compensation?!
Thank you! We use manual Shutter Speed, manual Aperture, and automatic ISO. Then we control the exposure with exposure compensation. As the light gets brighter we gradually speed up the shutter speed.
