Don't buy this reel. I bought 2 of them for me and my girlfriend to use on a tile fishing trip. Both of them had the gears stripped out. Going to see what I can do about warranty.
Wow!!! That sucks! Did you hook into a big shark? I have done 5 trips with it and got into a few smaller sharks 20 to 50 range with no issues other than being pissed off the shark eat my fish.
@clearwaterboating no the only thing we caught was golden and blueline tile. They weren't even big because we couldn't go into the deeper waters because of the weather. But we were using 5lbs sinkers to hold the bottom. My girlfriend caught 1 fish, and then it started skipping on her. We tried to just retrieve the weight, and that's when the gears fully blew out on her. Luckily, I broke off, so we cut her line and spliced it to mine, and I was able to pull up everything. My friend who has used his for 3 times started to do the same thing, so he put his away. This all just happen. We got back last night from the trip. So I will be reaching out to them to see about warranty. I'm hoping they have some good customer service because this ruin our first tile trip sadly. I'm now going to be looking into some of the daiwa reels specifically the sea power 1200. If they end up replacing our kranken X then we will have them as back ups
@clearwaterboating back here with an update. Their customer service is amazing. They helped me out with everything and are warranty both reels. They also threw in an extra battery free of charge for the inconvenience. So far I have had an amazing experience with this company. Just some slight issues with some of their products. I can say that I got the vibe that they are investigating common issues with their reels to make improvements on.
