I hate to ask, but could you provide the music for the last section? More specifically, when Eden is trying to defend herself from the accusation of her being Arei's murderer.
I’m not sure why, but I love the idea of David walking into the pool, finding the body, going “ok”, and then left and didn’t do shit or tell anyone about it for hours
Regardless of however this chapter ends, I have literally never seen a trial where the suspect is THIS hidden until the very end, where no one can agree on who the culprit is 😭
@@prowolf633 It’s a nice change of pace from cases like the original Danganronpa games where the killers are so obvious you’re bored out of your mind going through the trials (looking at you, THH.)
“that's awfully rich coming from the person who is the very reason that the killer was able to kill arei. if you hadn't freaked out about your nonextant sister, arei wouldn't have gotten herself killed.” DAMN DAVID YOU PUT ARTUROS ASS ON BLAST💀💀💀
38:31 You can just see Teruko recognizing that Eden is in the same position as she was in the last trial, everyone distrusting her and believing she is the culprit. But, where no one was there to help Teruko, she was there for Eden in her darkest hour. For as much as she distrusts everyone, Eden gives her a reason to believe she can trust others again one day.
@@IM-vv5dm It's not the same position though. Being suspected is fair and square, the problem with Teruko's accusation was that noone was going to give her a chance for rebuttal.
Well it's kinda different, I mean yea everyone suspected her, but only because she was the most suspicious in the beginning by laying near Xander thinking it was a fight, but in Eden's case its different, because she is accused and suspected by everyone one because a lot of evidence is pointing to her
If you ask me, I don't believe it's Eden at all. For one, it'd be a bit of a repeat form the last trial where Min used Teruko's own trust against her, and two, if Eden WERE the culprit, then any character development Teruko's been given about slowly trusting people again would just be thrown out the window. Plus, though Eden WAS one of the closest to Arei, that alone would make things a bit too predictable for her to be the culprit. Plus, we've seen time and again how traumatized and saddening this case has been for Eden, so I highly doubt a true culprit would fake how close they REALLY were to a victim. At least, I don't recall any Danganronpa cases in canon doing that. Besides, even though Eden might LOOK a bit suspicious, there's no smoking gun evidence to prove that she's undeniably the culprit. If anything, Ace being the culprit makes MUCH more sense, as the fact that he would be trying to replicate the same murder method as Nico, use the fish water from the Relaxation room pond, and constantly point the finger at Nico during the trial would all line up to a Danganronpa killer trying to get away with their crime. Also, due to how Ace likely overheard the incident with Arei, Arturo, and Eden, or even Arei's conversation with David, means that he more then likely learned about Arei wanting to change and make things right with Eden. Thus why he forged a note with her signature on it to draw Arei to the playground and kill her. Also, Ace has proven to hate animals, so I think he'd definitely care less if the fish that ended up getting caught in the water jugs died shortly after they broke. Oh, and the culprit has messy handwriting, as well as a few spelling errors in that note of theirs to Arei. Eden's sample from a previous video alone proves that she's more literate. I doubt you'd need to be a good writer to make clocks, but either way, Eden certainly buys me the type of being smart enough to have better handwriting than Ace, who doesn't buy me as that type of person.
@@acatonceattackedmeandscrat6302 seems like grammar skills of the culprit sucks. It would make sense if it was ace now just because of this issue in note...
@acatonceattackedmeandscrat6302 Heck, due to Ace not being the brightest of the group, it'd make more sense for him to be the culprit due to the handwriting on the note looking a bit messy and having some spelling errors. Also, this is from a previous video, but how does one's handwriting, much less on the note, look "girly." Everyone can have similar or different writing styles, regardless of gender.
"That doesn't sound right" i'm glad they are keeping the trend of making the rebbutal showdown lines correspond their talents even if this one flew over my head.
god now it's the melodramatic "friend" dialogue. if eden was manipulative the whole time im actually gonna pass out (ik it doesn't make much sense and it's so overused but that's why i'm worried 😭)
I thought her principles weren't about "I helped you with that so I expect you to help me too", Teruko pointed that out and she said that's not how friendships are made or smth like that, but now here she's asking Teruko to help her just bc they're friends to her? Granted, she might have dropped all her mentality bc she's desperate and a mess after Arei's death but just wanted to point that out.
@@w339tak If she is I actually wouldn’t like that twist, like I get it’s supposed to feel bad but there’s already soooo many awful people in this show that I honestly think it’s too much already. Ace might be an overly aggressive and impulsive jack ass but he's been getting straight up dumped on in this chapter. He's had some very valid points so far on multiple things and he literally survived a murder attempt but most of them just go "chihuahua is barking again, meh..." whenever he says something. I feel kind of bad for the guy.
I don't like him but that's sad. J is probably the one who care for him the most even tho she hate him. Teruko only care because she need to find the culprit 🥲
I still think Hu makes the most sense somehow. But honestly Ace and Eden are both equally likely killers to me.. I just hope it's narratively satisfying in the end.
@@rasmusmalmberg6468 I think it's Hu too because they just can't fathom how either Ace or Eden would figure out that turpentine was used. But then when else would the culprit get the tape so now I'm so confused 😭
@@rasmusmalmberg6468 "You are coping, mate. Hu being the culprit doesn't make any sense whatsoever. She has an alibi, couldn't have witnessed Nico's murder or come up with this kind of murder plan on her own, couldn't have snatched the tape required, doesn't have a mobile, and couldn't have overheard the conversation between Eden and Arei to lure the latter out.
@@milettneonthe turpentine is actually a really good point. If we know it was used in the murder, then how would they have gotten their hands on it if it wasn't in the gym? How would they even know to use turpentine to knock Arei out?
ewatched Episode 6, you can see the EXACT moment when the tape was taken. It was taken right as Ace gotten up to yell he was not dead so I have no doubt that he took it and ran off with it. Also Teruko asked Eden to step away from the crime scene so it's impossible it was her. After that, I'm not entirely sure but Ace 100% took it. Does that mean he's the culprit? Idk but if he gave the tape to someone, then we will be easily able to figure out who the culprit is next episode. The only other option is it was stolen so maybe Ace will enlighten us on that. If neither are true, then Ace is the culprit 100%. EDEN IS (most likely) NOT THE CULPRIT!!! Edit: if you go frame by frame on the episode you can see the EXACT FRAME the tape was taken, it was taken as the camera pans from Teruko to Eden, and eden was pushed to the other side of the room, where the tape wasn't there.
@@DestroyedDestroyerThat's wrong! Actually at first he only had one had present (at least in his sprite he only held his neck with 1 hand) ! Meaning before using his second hand he had chance to put the tape in his pockets! And we never saw Eden have tape in her hands either so it is debatable.
@@mightypurplelicious3209 it makes sense tbh, remember in episode 11 where she said she has to give everyone guidance? So she can be useful? Especially with her secret, she shows she only finds self worth of she is useful, she's basically just trying to have self worth
@@justanoreo2.0 Yeah, Hu comes off as motherly but really it's toxic. She's only doing it so she can feel good about herself and she's willing to smother others to do so. Like Nico said, they never asked to be defended. Hu just jumped in and didn't let Nico speak for themselves.
David is my favorite character hands down. This episode cemented that. I just love antagonists and David right now is honestly one of the best written antagonists in any fangan I’ve watched or read so far. Especially his manipulation to plant distrust on Eden, and his words to Teruko. God I just love his character so much!
I like how he appears to be a bad guy but when you actually read into his actions and the stuff he says, you can tell he's purposefully acting like this to help! Especially when he tells Teruko that he wants her to distrust others. He seems to recognise that Teruko may be heading down the wrong path of logic and tries to get her back on track. He's definitely one of the most amazing fangan antagonists I've ever seen!
As much as I want to give Eden the benefit of the doubt, I just dont see Ace being the killer. My biggest issue with that is the whole argument is that the killer would have to have been witness to Nico’s attempted murder, but Ace barely saw any of the shit Nico used to pull it off cause he went to immediately chase Nico once he gained consciousness, whereas Eden had plenty of time to investigate the crime scene with Teruko. It just makes more sense logically if Eden killed Arei. I will say this twist came as a surprise though as I was almost 100% sure it was Hu lol
Literally same... I was a 100% sure It was Hu due to her nonsensical defense towards Nico... I thoght her defending Nico was a way to avoid the topic being debated, consequently pinning Hu as the culprit as she replicated Nico's scenario due to Nico failing to kill Ace. And same, I can't see Ace as the culprit, one of the requirements to be the culprit is knowing about the conversation between Arei, Eden and Arturo, while there's a possibility of a fourth party eavesdropping... There's no confirmation either, therefore, is easier for Eden to know about it since she herself was part of the conversation, as well as stumbling across Nico's attempted murder. For Ace to be the culprit... We must consider him 1. Eavesdropping, which we already saw he did before with Arei and David, 2. Investigate about Nico's murder mechanism, did Ace really had the time to understand Nico's mechanism? He barely stood up and chase after Nico soon after, while Eden had all the time to understand Nico's plan and grab the tape. ( Also... Wasn't the tape just lying right there when Ace leaved the gym...? Perphaps I'm misremembering ) Therefore... For as much as It hurts, I believe Eden is the culprit, or maybe someone else is, honestly at this point in the trial... I doubt anyone else out of this 2 is the culprit, how much longer will this trial go? ( My only concern towards Eden being the culprit... The whole "trust" Teruko started to regain would be useless, as she would be shown that even someone like Eden can't be trusted, and also because I thought Eden would take the rol as Teruko's support during the rest of the series, her job as a support for Teruko after Xander's backstab has been notorious, killing her right now... Doesn't feel right. Finally: What's the motive behind Eden's murder? Simply why? Hidding a secret like that? May be embarrasing but not worth killing for, while Ace, as stupid as his motive may sound, has a motive... "Revenge" on Nico ) Honestly, I don't know what to think anymore.
Hmmm idk. Ace didn’t just go to sleep with an open wound. He had to have gone to take care of himself. Then he could have went to the gym, decipher some of the murder plan, and take the tape
I feel like there's one thing that can confirm Eden's innocence that was probably left out intentionally. Though I could've missed something after rewatching these videos but how would Eden have gotten the rope up in the rafters? She doesn't appear physically strong enough to toss the rope high enough into the rafter to do so and if she used a step stool to gain some height I doubt she'd still be able to toss the rope hard enough to send the rope over the rafters. This is purely speculation because I'm not sure if they've made it clear just how strong Eden is compared to everyone else or if she used something to do it.
Hu nation, she was cleared of all wrongdoing! (She has an unhealthy obsession of trying to defend so-called innocents to prove to herself she's a different person than the "hopeless child" from her secret. Even as that desire turned and twisted against her, it's okay if it could blind her to reality, because then maybe she can keep ignoring who she used to be, who she's afraid she still is) Pop the bottles!
I would like to apologize to the Hu nation for believing she was the culprit. At the time it made sense before we cleared up Nico’s murder. I feel really bad for her with what Nico said. Also I 100% think it’s Eden now, but I am confused how she learned the murder method so quick(then again, it makes more sense than Ace who was unconscious the entire time before they got in and bolted).
@@Rosa-he6xb Eden does have a background of working with clocks involving rotation. Personally, i believe this case was assisted suicide as the only evidence pointing against it is arei's bound wrists and fingernail injuries.

@@redthefoxisWritingUpAStorm I don't trust her, neither do i trust Whit, i think they have a dark secret, like everyone else, it just haven't been revealed
He definitely didn’t deserve to have a murder attempted on him, but he’s really doing it to himself… he’s nasty and rude to everyone in a KILLING GAME and then wonders why one of the people he shit talked went after him? Again, murder isn’t at all justified, but it’s the fact that he lacks self awareness. Him continuing to be an outright douchebag to EVERYONE, and call himself the victim, and put ALL the blame on Nico (Despite Ace instigating the arguments with someone minding their business, IN A KILLING GAME), I just find it really unappealing. But everyone has there own taste in characters, and that’s what makes media work well :-D
There's one important thing they haven't touched upon yet: the motive. Eden doesn't have any. Her secret isn't something to kill 13 people for. Neither is Ace's, but Ace has a different motive. Throughout the game, it's been established that he's one of the most likely targets for murder. And he's already been nearly killed once. He's killed Arei because he believed he would have died in this killing game anyway, so he had nothing to loose.
My favorite part of Despair Time is when the character came out as nonbinary and immediately attempted murder /j In all seriousness, I'm so in love with all these characters. Teruko's development in this episode in particular is super fascinating to see. Can't wait to see where this goes.

SPOILERS AHEAD The fact that Eden said “why would I even help reconstructing the paper” made her so suspicious. I’m not saying it’s her but afterall the bottom right corner of the paper is missing, so what if Eden took it while reconstructing the evidence?
Crazy Random Thought. Is there any way Arei asked Eden to get tho items to commit s**cide? But if Arei didn't get the materials herself, Edem "murdered " Arei?
@@mayzenharriz8083 If Arei is trying to become a better person I doubt it, her conversation with David made her realize that she can't truly be a good person since no is (no is perfect and all that) but that doesn't mean she can't try to become a better person then who she was in the past. Unless it's revealed Arei and Eden had some falling out or Arei started reverting, or I misinterpret/misremembered the scene I mentioned Arei probably wouldn't do that. You could chalk it up to him deciding to kill someone and escape for self-preservation. He could've chosen Arei probably to frame Eden or Arturo or even Nico because of the similar murder method. He probably just didn't expect for them to have an alibi so early in the morning.
The conversation of Teruko and Eden just made me cry😭 Especially when it mirrored Min's last embrace.. Teruko seems to grow up as a person and find inner balance between logic and emotions. It's really nicely done, thanks❤
If the end of Episode 11 was around the 70% mark for this chapter, I'm going to guess this chapter has 16 episodes. That would probably mean the trial ends in episode 15, and episode 16 is the post-trial and the execution. We might get the culprit reveal either at the end of this episode or the beginning of the next one.
@@TopHatMatt They said that episode 16 is execution, not 15. thats 2 episodes of trial then. considering that this episode is (apparently) going to be 40 minutes long, its not that unrealistic🤔 but we'll see!!
On that I'm scared, he'll get the Hiyoko treatment. I think the final turn is someone took the tape but not these two. Arei is more tied to Eden but no outbursts from him yet revealing he has negative feelings toward her makes it a stretch. Similarly, Eden has been getting plot armor. Neither would have strong motives to kill Arei. For Eden, too obvious a choice and Ace too much of a random person. Let's say, either one's going to plan a murder, Eden would pick someone with less ties to her, say Charles and Ace, if not going after Nico, would pick Hu or even David who both seemed to side with Nico but wouldn't be the obvious pick for him. I too lean towards Hu but can see it circling back to Ace too. Can't wait for the next episode 😋🍹
This episode was so amazing. David gave me chills all throughout the trial, but he turned on the afterburners on this one. Everyone performed excellently and I love how messy the entire group is. The conflict is unending! Genuinely sad one of them will be dead by the end of this trial!
Remember when Eden tried to stop Teruko to walk into playground before the BDA? If she was the killer and somehow knew that somebody else saw the crime scene early in the morning, she wanted to walk into it before Teruko, so it would conclude the mininum number of people to trigger the BDA (Whit, Teruko and the person in the morning), but it would look like it is Eden among them. But if Teruko walked in before her, BDA would sound immediately without Eden. So she somehow rushed in along with Teruko while trying to stop her. So David could be right with that one. Sorry for the blunt speech
Something I feel is important to ask is... would Ace or Eden 100% be able to use the carousel mechanism with ease? Eden is much smaller than everyone else and certainly not strong 'looking' and Ace's secret was that his body was straight up falling apart which probably is gonna make you weak. It probably takes a good bit strength to lift Arei's body up with the device
SPOILERS: Assuming the killer is indeed Ace, it makes a lot of sense. Arei and Ace have so many parallels. They were the two most hated people up to that point (David and Levi hadn't shown their true colors up to that point) Arei wanted to change and be better. Eden and even David held out their hands and told her she could change. She died wanting to be a better person. Sadly that want to change is what killed her. Ace is the opposite. He only got worse and worse with his actions and paranoia. Nobody helped him. Nobody offered him a hand. Everyone hated him, he didn't get what Arei got. Nico trying to kill him sent him over and made him kill Arei. "They will all try to kill me anyways, everyone hates me. I have to make the first move." His distrust for everyone caused him to kill, and in turn, get found out an excecuted. Its sad but very well written and makes a lot of sense in my opinion
Ok his explanation pretty much perfectly sums it up but the only issue is that ace did get offered help by Levi after the murder incident, but he pushed him away saying he’s rather bleed out then accept his health. I’m pretty sure it’s less to do with no one helping him and more with him being paranoid to the extreme and worried that he can’t trust anyone, espeicailly considering he nearly got murdered and he’s pretty sensitive, broski lost his shit over some comments in the class trial by Levi 😅
not to mention him doing it same style as nico could of been to frame him, he knows if he did it with nico it would put the eyes on him so he changed targets, tbh if eden wasn't so hell bent on making teruko trust people again it could very well be her but i dont see at all how killing someone would gain her trust back, but still there is still possibilities it was her, i really hope not tho
@@ThomastheRiolpixQueenever since the last episode ive thought this, i think you're right on the money there. Ace is trying to frame Nico. To do this it isnt enough to steal the tape, you have to know how the murder works. After this episode i have no doubt Ace knew how the murder worked. Ace said he was unconscious the whole time, but it's clear this is a lie. I think he woke up as he was in mid air. Nico said Ace woke up and theres evidence to prove it. Theres blood on Ace's fingers from where he was clawing at the wire. Why would he say he was unconscious the whole time if he wasnt? Because if Ace says he is conscious at any point in the murder, that proves he knew about the pulley system. It's a death sentence.
10:08 It's so going to be Ace. He woke up when Nico was trying to hang him, meaning he knew what method to copy. He also had plenty of reason to frame Nico in particular. Eden didn't even know how this entire plan actually worked, she only walked in after the fact.
A part of me hopes so because he's such a jackass. But then again is Ace smart enough to come up with something like that? He was knocked out the majority of the time

All right taking a break from defending Eden, I must say the mini comic book from Nico attempted murder was so fun. Despair time does this little new things like choosing two suspects or like i just mentioned doing a comic in the middle of the trial. It's so fun to watch.
It's insane this cast, we have Levi who is a murderer, Nico how attempted a murder and David who is... David. I definitely would sleep with an eye awake.
I’m gonna stay delusional. It’s not Ace or Eden. It’s neither. It’s a Kaito/Maki situation again. Neither of them. Please for the love of everything holy don’t let either of them be the killer.
@@nik4rt Yes, but the tape missing doesn’t mean anything in my opinion. MonoTV could’ve put it back and someone took it after an early morning workout. After realizing what Nico did. Edit: unless I’m remembering wrong and they were the first two to enter the gym which is totally what happened oops
@@nik4rt Also I suspect J still. Arturo goes where J is, so assuming Eden approached him, J should’ve at least known about the conversation between those two, yet she’s offered no input such as the presence or lack thereof other people who could’ve overheard the conversation. Plus, MonoTV revealed J attempted to enter the gym while it was closed post murder attempt. Maybe she found a way in, given that MonoTV needed to enter for repairs. Or at the very least she’d have seen the murder method through the door.
I don’t think it’s either of them bc Arei’s gloves was probably used to prevent the culprit from getting friction burn somewhere along the way, and why would Ace or Eden use someone else’s gloves when they both already wear gloves
As a proud member of the ASS society (Ace Survivor Socieity...society), I need to defend my mans over here. Ace is NOT the killer! 1: to be the killer Ace would need to understand how Nico attempted to murder him. Nothing points towards Ace being particularly smart, let's be real. Do we think that Ace, who was just drugged and then hit his head, would wake up with a bloody neck and have enough awareness to both recognize how Nico tried to kill him AND grab the tape??? 2: Eden's talent is making clocks! You know what's involve in clocks? A lot of moving parts! She has a much better chance of understanding the attempted murder method within a short window than Ace does. 3: If you go back to the moment right before Arei's body was discovered, Eden tries to stop Teruko from opening the door. I wonder why; maybe because she's the killer and thought the BDA wouldn't play???? 4: If this chapter is continuing this theme of being a 'good person', then Eden is far more involved with that concept than Ace. She's been talking about being a 'good person' left and right so far. 'All that glitters is not gold"? Ace doesn't glitter, never has. But Eden is a 'good person'. 5: if it's Ace I'll cry. Yes this is a legit point in his favor. Please.
Your 1st and 3rd points are admittedly having me second guess myself. Why did Eden tell Teruko and Whit to wait before opening the playground doors?' Did she want to run and get everyone else to witness the body at the same time? Is Ace putting together this elaborate murder plan based on Nico's murder plan after everything that happened to him really believable?
@@solomonm.840 Yess...Yessss. Join my side. Together we'll change fate itself to keep Ace alive. Bonus point: 6: Eden had a far better chance of grabbing the tape. When Ace woke up, he knocked Eden to the ground. His screaming was taking Teruko's attention, meaning she wasn't paying attention to Eden. On the ground and temporarily forgotten, it'd be so easy to grab the tape.
I don't personally like Ace but I don't think he's the killer, I agree with the theory that Eden is. I've noticed a lot of things not adding up in her favor as well. She's just too suspicious during the whole chapter. I'm going to rewatch the chapter and see what else I missed you made a lot of great points. (I don't dislike Ace's writing I just dislike him. I actually like how he's written.)
Yes. I'm glad someone else brought up Eden's clockmaking talent. She'd be far more likely to identify how Nico tried to killed Ace and replicate it than Ace. If Teruko needed this long to figure it out, a knocked out, bleeding, angry Ace would never. Someone who's mind is used to gears and spinning parts working together though?
I've also noticed that the suspect who goes last is usually the killer in a lot of fan games. Like it usually makes the whole reveal a lot smoother. But I really hope I'm wrong with this observation. But at the same time I really want to see why Eden killed her. Was her being nice an act? Or did she get more info from MonoTV that changed her feelings? I really enjoy the writing of this series so far
@@rabbidguarddogI'm not saying that it's related to her motive specifically, but I think she might have overheard something that drove her to murder. What I don't know.
the way eden keeps stating she just wanted to "help arei" in such a tone of almost regret makes me suspicous that perhaps its symbolizing something but then again i cant exactly pinpoint if im really 100 percent onboard of her being the killer due to what weve been shown through the image in the last video her pov being shown and her secret being fairly normal
if it really is Eden i feel _so_ bad for Teruko. time and time again she promises herself not to get attached, and time and time again she gets betrayed. i feel like Eden being the killer would be the actual breaking point for Teruko that being said, i really don't think it's between Ace and Eden. if i had to choose between them i'd obviously pick Eden, but for some reason i'm inclined to believe it's Hu
I kinda miss those times... No shade to them two but my god ace and Eden are my in my top characters ESPECIALLY EDEN IF SHE IS THE KILLER I'M ACTUALLY GONNA SOB SO HARD I ALREADY DID THIS EPISODE 😭😭
yeah i thought it was them too but then i thought, levi is the Big muscular character so he’s probably gonna die in chapter 4 and hu doesn’t have it in her.
This was before Nico's murder attempt. She wouldn't have had the idea of how to use it at the time. Odds are she brought the laundry to the laundry room, but later someone else used it.
the voice acting is so so so so incredible. same for the writing. same for the art. same for the everything. drdtdev you really outdid yourself on this one
Spoilers I don't think Ace it's the killer honestly, he may be too aggressive but he was unconscious most of the time it's hard to believe that he actually managed to replicate Nico's murder method almost perfectly It's not like I want to believe it's Eden either, I'd like to think it's actually someone else, but sadly it's probably one of those two, a shame I truly wanted Ace to change for the better (he's not really a bad person, he's clearly paranoid about the situation which it's logical, many of us would be like him in a killing game) and Eden it's so sweet, and I don't want her to suffer even more than before:(
By Nico's account, Ace started gaining consciousness while Nico was setting up the fan part and once he returned to his room, Ace had all night to try and figure out what Nico tried to pull. I'm really hoping it's not him or Eden either but no one else could've known about the mechanisms behind the attempted murder besides Ace, Teruko, Eden, and Nico.
@snakesareamazing but the fact he's been through all the shit and actively dislikes and distrusts the whole group gives him a better motive than Eden, who has at least tried to bond with everyone. for Eden to be the killer, she'd have to be willing and able to manipulate everyone- and I don't think she's cold enough for that of course, there's always a third option where it turns out to be Hu or J somehow
@bugbear2357 Ace possibly having a more obvious motive doesn't make him the culprit tho. Eden would've had an easier time taking the tape without being noticed by Teruko, cause her attention was on Ace. He was also passed out after getting attacked, why would he immediately decide to grab some random tape after waking up again? In like 5 seconds? He must've still been full of adrenaline, I don't think he had the time to rationally think about anything
@katyschubert6736 Im sure that Ace probably was the one that truly killed her. I mean, come on, let's be honest. Ace doesn't even like anyone there. He was even willing to get Teruko voted out a while ago without feeling any remorse of sympathy for her. Now the tables have turned, and he hates everyone for not feeling that much sympathy for him, It's obvious that he would have done this to escape. He constantly bragged about how no one cared about him and was constantly feeling sorry for himself. It's obvious that he is the one who did this. But it all matters if it is confirmed or not, but my 50% bets are on him.
This trial has been emotional yet pretty intense... I kinda hope Eden has a moment to defend herself IF she isn't the killer, Teruko has been a huge goat this trial! Her moment with Rose was just so sweet!
(spoilers) I actually thought of a reason Ace might have killed Arei. Remember what he overheard when he was listening in on David and Arei's conversation? "I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. That's what Eden would do. And I want to be like her. I need to become a good person." Ace, who by his own accounts is a pretty terrible person, was probably really confused and bewildered on how Arei suddenly wants to become this better person when she was so shitty in the past. If Ace had confronted her about this and she gave the "maybe you can change too!" sort of speech to him... I don't imagine it would have ended well for her. The theme of this chapter is being a "good person". And while Arei wanted the chance to grow and change, Ace only sunk deeper towards his demise. (This is all assuming it's him ofc lol)
@@adamturek210 This just popped in my head but It's also a pretty interesting tie in to chapter 2 of THH, where Mondo killed Chihiro due to seeing him wanting to get stronger and Mondo who just... couldn't.
@@Sir_Noel Thematically it also fits with the over all theme of friendship; Ace, who has done nothing to be nice or kind for others, skipped out on all little or big things, only ever being an asshole, will die alone. Sure he has trauma, but that doesnt permit you to be awful to others. Ace DOES have a major role in this case. He's upset and sad, no one wants to see him as the victim or help him and he mentions this over and over. He is a victim, but this victimization of himself has been present way before he was assaulted. Meanwhile everyone wants to help, or at least not believe, it's Eden. She's been doing everything to help everyone, even when she's at times made mistakes in doing so. Quite literally and brutally; Ace will die because he has no friends, said so himself. Eden will live because she's made friends, or at least allies, and this is proven by how she's acted. Eden's not lying or acting like the good person, she's being honest and truthful, her words prove this. The reasoning is gonna come down to the motive i bet, and THIS ALL, your comment included, will be the smoking gun. I'm certain.
Spoilers warning: I honestly don't think it is Ace. It might be Eden but I am more suspect to believe that something is going on with Hu and Nico that we don't know about. I think maybe Nico stole the tape and they are working together somehow. I don't know exactly, but I think they are both suspicious. Maybe Hu was trying to help Nico get out of the killing game and she was willing to die for them to escape.
I mean I also suspected Hu but this episode has proven it could only be Eden or Ace and I don't think it's gonna be Eden because then Teruko arc of trusting people again goes to waste.
@@yaemikoshandlerhmmmm......I mean yea....but I may have an stupid theory? We talked about that only Eden or Ace could have grabbed the tape, but what if someone else took it after either Ace or Eden (probably her) took it? Then again it just a thing that came to my mind, so might aswell forget it
Predicting a loophole regarding Rule 10: "...three or more people who did not **witness the murder**..." if a killer laid a trap (like a tripwire that triggers an explosion), and a victim died while the killer isn't there to see it, they could still count as one of the three
I love Eden as much as the next person, but, out of the two, I definitely think it’s her. Though we don’t know the importance of them yet, there were the clothes present at the crime scene and Eden had talked about how she was doing laundry to Teruko right before they witnessed the attempted murder
I think that timing makes it LESS likely to be Eden. Laundry was taken care of, and then Eden would be given the inspiration. It's unlikely she could have done laundry with malicious intent at that point
(spoilers) I really think the big twist of the case is going to be that it was Eden. Teruko specifically mentioned that she would circle back to Eden after confronting Ace first, and I feel like that's something put in there deliberately. They'll probably interrogate Ace first but eventually find some piece of evidence that clears him. Plus Eden has closer ties to Arei and the theme of the chapter overall, she's the definition of a "good person".
@@skyknight2233 It wouldn't necessarily be Min v2, since Teruko knows at this point that no one can truly be trusted. I agree it would rehash a bit of "close friend who betrayed her" but we don't really know the motive for the murder yet or how involved Arei really was. David could just be lying tho and... yeah that's also equally as likely lol
@@skyknight2233 and also why would Eden mention herself in the note; that’s kinda dumb if she was actually planning a murder since I highly doubt that this murder was done due to her impulsive action
I adore Ace and I never really trusted Eden, she just felt so suspicious as a character, you know? I can't describe it but her personality just irked me alot.
I think between Eden and Ace if it really is either of them, I think it's Eden like whether or not she's guilty or innocent she's literally defending herself wrong. If you're innocent, neither your ethos as a person (i.e. Arei's friend and kind all along) nor feelings (i.e. this has been too much for me) will be as effective as using actual logic to prove it. I mean, they might not be able to do anything, but the more Eden begs for Teruko to not suspect her in the way she does, the more I can't help but suspect her. It's a good thing that Teruko only gave her the benefit of the doubt and made her intentions to Eden clear instead of straight up trusting again.
spoilers!! I don’t think it’s Ace OR Eden, and here’s why: Arei’s gloves are missing. It’s theorized the gloves are missing because the killer used them to prevent getting friction burn. Keep in mind that Nico used a broom, while Arei’s culprit seemed to have used their hands. Now why does that mean it couldn’t be Eden or Ace? Because they both already wear gloves. Why would they take Arei’s gloves and not just use their own? If this theory is true, it would probably be someone who doesn’t have gloves instead
could be for other reasons too like its possible that the killer removed her glove so it would be easier to bound her hands and so arei wouldnt be able to wiggle out of the tape
Good theory, but there is a problem, the tape was used anyway meaning it is still ace or eden, cause it was used for the carousel and it had to be taken by one of them
@@starbuuuckBut why is the glove missing then? Why did the culprit go out of their way to hide it? Putting the glove back on Areis hand would've been the smartest choice, since then it's harder to notice the red marks. So something about the glove must've have been important evidence. It would make a lot of sense if Areis glove got damaged through rope burn, so the culprit had to hide it. Most likely in the ball of clothes
Everyone seems to be agreeing the culpirit is between Nico, Hu, Ace or Eden and there alot of Evidences backing it up. If we do get the culpirit reavel this episode, i pray that its Hu because i dont want any of the others 3 dead (not like i want Hu dead either but she makes the most sense for this chapter,at least to me)
Not gonna say this outta playing favorites but logically, ace can't be the culprit. Simply because he had too little time of interaction with the crime scene in his consciousness for obv reasons: 1) ace was being killed, he wasn't in the proper mental state to just see the tape and take it right away. Also, he was too stunned by the whole incident he definitely didn't check the method at all, let alone thoroughly to replicate it... 2) his conscious time of interaction is too short. He only woke up for a bit only to struggle due to hanging. Now I'd say it's obvious that he couldn't logically and mentally just think of the method while hanging lmao, it's inhumane. But, i have another reason for it as well. We knew a tiny bit of the method due to looking at the scene as a whole, from a far. Ace was hanging up there, his view to the whole thing would've been limited, so understanding the method is too hard or even impossible from that point of view. Second, they only started understanding the method fully with the mop and stuff only after nico confirmed it, how could ace possibly have understood it all, the spinning and stuff when he couldn't have witnessed it, being unconscious? That being said, even though i love eden, it'd honestly be more of a waste for ace to go in such an unfinished arc. Btw daytime edit: i was hella sleepy when I wrote this so if it's stupid it's because i get to watch the premiers at 2:30 am at my time zone😂😂😂
As someone who previously had more of an attachment to Eden (but now prefers Ace), I think it's Eden- Especially since they devoted a cutscene to Teruko deciding to trust her. In addition, Ace turning out to be the culprit would just feel a bit...Shitty? It wouldn't be interesting. Although, I also am a bit iffy on how I'll feel on the direction I think they'll take Eden being the culprit. I don't want her to be a mass-manipulator like David, but I'm unsure where I exactly would like her character to go. Everything, to me, that Eden is doing is screaming 'I'm the culprit'.
Out of consideration for others, please do not spoil the content of future episodes in the comments. Thank you for your cooperation.

You're right... Oh gosh...
ewatched Episode 6, you can see the EXACT moment when the tape was taken.
I hate David, but I suppose that shows how good of an antagonist he is that I feel that strong dislike for him lol
Nico said they saw Ace being conscious for a while and he could've deduced the murder method when he woke up.
Hmmm idk. Ace didn’t just go to sleep with an open wound. He had to have gone to take care of himself. Then he could have went to the gym, decipher some of the murder plan, and take the tape

The fact that Eden said “why would I even help reconstructing the paper” made her so suspicious.
Obviously I could've made a mistake in my analysis or there could be missing evidence yet to reveal that could point to this, so yeah.

It’s way too quick tho, this is episode 14, if the execution is 15 then the entire investigation would have to happen in 1.5 episodes
@@TopHatMatt They said that episode 16 is execution, not 15. thats 2 episodes of trial then. considering that this episode is (apparently) going to be 40 minutes long, its not that unrealistic🤔 but we'll see!!
Finally we're going to figure out what really happened between Nico and Ace.
Hahaha. David must be seething at the final result of this episode.
I really want Hu to be the killer I'm sorry, Ace DESERVES charater development

That’s actually a rly good point
SPOILERS:
Assuming the killer is indeed Ace, it makes a lot of sense. Arei and Ace have so many parallels.
They were the two most hated people up to that point (David and Levi hadn't shown their true colors up to that point)
Arei wanted to change and be better.
THIS😭
Ok his explanation pretty much perfectly sums it up but the only issue is that ace did get offered help by Levi after the murder incident, but he pushed him away saying he’s rather bleed out then accept his health. I’m pretty sure it’s less to do with no one helping him and more with him being paranoid to the extreme and worried that he can’t trust anyone, espeicailly considering he nearly got murdered and he’s pretty sensitive, broski lost his shit over some comments in the class trial by Levi 😅
@@hamzasarodiya3359100%. When the one person who says he'll help you has openly said he will try to kill you it makes sense Ace didn't accept it

PREACH‼️‼️
Bonus point:
6: Eden had a far better chance of grabbing the tape.
Yes. I'm glad someone else brought up Eden's clockmaking talent. She'd be far more likely to identify how Nico tried to killed Ace and replicate it than Ace. It's not like I want to believe it's Eden either, I'd like to think it's actually someone else, but sadly it's probably one of those two, a shame I truly wanted Ace to change for the better (he's not really a bad person, he's clearly paranoid about the situation which it's logical, many of us would be like him in a killing game) and Eden it's so sweet, and I don't want her to suffer even more than before:(
By Nico's account, Ace started gaining consciousness while Nico was setting up the fan part and once he returned to his room, Ace had all night to try and figure out what Nico tried to pull.
I'm really hoping it's not him or Eden either but no one else could've known about the mechanisms behind the attempted murder besides Ace, Teruko, Eden, and Nico.

i would be so pissed if i was ace bro
i would not let that slide personally
He needs his character development fr fr
Yeah, he has been through so much shit. Nobody cares about him almost dying and now he's being accused of murder because Eden is more sympathic
@snakesareamazing but the fact he's been through all the shit and actively dislikes and distrusts the whole group gives him a better motive than Eden, who has at least tried to bond with everyone. for Eden to be the killer, she'd have to be willing and able to manipulate everyone- and I don't think she's cold enough for that
of course, there's always a third option where it turns out to be Hu or J somehow
He was even willing to get Teruko voted out a while ago without feeling any remorse of sympathy for her. Now the tables have turned, and he hates everyone for not feeling that much sympathy for him, It's obvious that he would have done this to escape. I actually thought of a reason Ace might have killed Arei. Remember what he overheard when he was listening in on David and Arei's conversation?
"I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. That's what Eden would do. And I want to be like her. I need to become a good person."
Ace, who by his own accounts is a pretty terrible person, was probably really confused and bewildered on how Arei suddenly wants to become this better person when she was so shitty in the past.
You're cooking good with that theory.

I don’t think it’s Ace OR Eden, and here’s why:
Arei’s gloves are missing.

@@Gaming_With_Elfie arei only has one glove if thats what you mean
Good theory, but there is a problem, the tape was used anyway meaning it is still ace or eden, cause it was used for the carousel and it had to be taken by one of them
@@starbuuuckBut why is the glove missing then? Why did the culprit go out of their way to hide it? Putting the glove back on Areis hand would've been the smartest choice, since then it's harder to notice the red marks. So something about the glove must've have been important evidence. It would make a lot of sense if Areis glove got damaged through rope burn, so the culprit had to hide it. Most likely in the ball of clothes
cant wait to see HU dun it
(whit impression)
Everyone seems to be agreeing the culpirit is between Nico, Hu, Ace or Eden and there alot of Evidences backing it up. If we do get the culpirit reavel this episode, i pray that its Hu because i dont want any of the others 3 dead (not like i want Hu dead either but she makes the most sense for this chapter,at least to me)
I thinm ace is jnnocent
It’s not Eden, otherwise her secret would’ve been “you are a psychotic criminal mastermind”
Why Ace if he was a victim
eden is gonna be important to the plot theres no way she dies on ch 2
@@TopHatMatt This is Danganronpa remember?
EVERYONE in this fangan needs a psychological evaluation and therapy💀
This episode was a masterpiece
Dude the VAs fit so well
Thank you, DRDT. You made me realize my friend might be manipulative. /gen
Not gonna say this outta playing favorites but logically, ace can't be the culprit. Simply because he had too little time of interaction with the crime scene in his consciousness for obv reasons:
1) ace was being killed, he wasn't in the proper mental state to just see the tape and take it right away.
Wow the music in this episode was awesome, especially in the later parts of the trial.
With the minigames, I’d like to imagine that if this were an actual show the audience would be able to play along at home.
