I think he was heavily bullied & or abused for being a timid boy. Almost everyone says boys should be manly & brave & not weak & scared & he was hurt because of that. So one day on his way home he found a cat that was badly injured & took it to an animal shelter. The cat was disabled only having 3 legs & one eye & it's owner was also abusive to it. He vented his problems & insecurities to it relating to the pet. After the cat got better it followed him home. After some time he went back to the shelter to volunteer as a worker & made friends with the animals there. Realizing he had a special connection to animals with the same problems as him (mainly black cats because they are seen as bad luck) he wanted to help them get better & they can help him get better. One day at the animal shelter hope's peak found him & he was able to escape the heavy bullying & abuse.
Anyone else peep Arei saying she was jelous about J getting attention from her parents and connect that back to how much of an attention monger she is?
Nico's and Rose's interaction was so cute and wholesome to see. Whit and Charles conversation made me feel bad for the both of them, I hope their relationship gets better

I’m dead certain now that J has a twin brother, and they’ve been periodically swapping places with each other, and are either *the* masterminds, or working with them. They both go by “J” to avoid being confused when addressed. My only real evidence is Rose not recognizing J in that one scene, despite having photographic memory. It’d make sense if that were because she was meeting a different J for the first time.
These were even better than expected! I didn't get Nico/Eden as I voted, but seeing him with Rose was really wholesome. I hadn't realized their potential. The other events were great too with all that backstory! I'm looking forward to the continuation of this. Well done!
