Ryu: Whoa I can fly! Why am I not always using this? Ryu, literally the next stage: *forgets about flying so constantly missing things, complaining about awkward jumps, and can't reach certain secrets* Why do they make you do that?? How do you do that? I'm going to have to come back to this stage! 🤣 Such a great video! I never played 6 but looks like it held up pretty well!
Fun Fact: In second grade Nintendo Power had a contest to get a character in a Mega Man game for MM3 or 4. I sent in my drawings of a Knight who used a mace ball. I never heard back from them, but years later I played MM6 and saw my character in game, same design/move sets I came up with. At the time I was ecstatic. Thinking back on it, I kind of wish I knew to make copies of it before I sent it in.
Nice going! A couple of things: if you can reset the room with Eddie in it (the little red robot that spits out helpful items) without collecting the item drop, you can get something else. Also, that Wily capsule fight format of him teleporting around the room is pretty standard. Off the top of my head, I know that the final phases in 4 and 7 are the same.
Ya man I was waiting for this vid. This was the very first game I ever purchased with my own money as a kid. I got it while on vacation, so all I could do was read the manuel over and over till we got home to play it. Good stuff.
MEGAMAN!!!!!!!! love this game!!! If you find the time play in the really hard series retro games, contra and castlevania from SEGA...love to see that. Thanks for all the amazing content
Ryu already played Contra on NES in one of his Debunking the Difficulty videos 2 years ago. He also did Castlevania I and III as well a few years ago but I don't think he's tackled Castlevania: Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis yet.
There's an 8 hour video by Ben Saint on UA-cam that goes over all the Megaman game lore. Goes over all the different (insert name)man characters etc. Was pretty interesting & put together well. As for this video, was a joy to see you finally tackling MM6.
I've loved Megaman since I was 5 back in the 90's, and I've ALWAYS felt like Classic Megaman peaked with this game. Ones that came after had cool stuff, but this one always felt the best balanced. Difficult without feeling TOO difficult or unfair like some of the others. This one is just so pleasant to play in a way that most other games aren't. Love it!
@@saulpedroza1887it's been like 20 years since I played, but I believe you take the higher route on Tomahawk Man's stage and then bomb a wall with POW on your left. And then weird music plays and MegaMan Zero shows up and leaves an equalizer weapon behind.
Mega Man 7 is my favorite, because I had a Super Nintendo before i had an NES and when i bought Mega Man X2 i also bought 7 with it. I love it so much that I made my own remix of Bass's theme song. i prefer his 7 theme to his 8 theme (its a banger on its own right but nostalgia) Please play it my dude. Slash Man, both Shade Man songs, Burst Man, Turbo Man and Bass all have banger songs
It would have been more fun if you had used some of the power-ups you got from the bosses during the levels to at least check them out. I never played VI (the only NES Mega Man I didnt beat and I even owned a copy of I, II, III, and V). Good playthough though, nice job killing the bosses with just the Mega Buster.
Mega Man 2, 3, and 6 were always my favorites on the Regular NES. The Rush Jet adapters were just trying to show the transitions from Rush to Mega Man.
Also the limitations of the hardware makes for a nostalgic experience. The inability to play bgm and sound effects at the same time. The slow down due to many sprites being drawn at once. Classic.
Wow you really took your tine to continue the MegaMan games 😅 nice to dee them back though. Have you ever tried MegaMan Maker? Especially since the new 1.9 update it atarts to look so freaking amazing 😍 with layers and decorations
Love this game! Couple tips - you get the BEAT parts for taking the secret exits on those levels. And on tomahawk w the broken wall as a gizmo thing you’ll want to get. A power equalizer dealio
This has been my favorite of the NES hexalogy of Mega Man games on the NES ever since it first came out. When I was a kid, I rented this game from Albertson's (back when that was a thing, lol) so many times that I should have just bought the damn thing; we easily spent more on the rentals, lmao. This is still one of my comfort games to go back to and probably will be for the rest of my life.
I will say, the reaons I think this game has exactly as much love as it deserves is because they pumped out the same game over and over again for years. There is no reason for there to be 10 original megaman games other than greed. And then there are like 100 sub-games. Its excessive and does not speak to a labor of love
7 is a banger!! Very distinct mega man experience, very fun if you like collectables and secrets. 8 is a rather strange game, but worth a play if you're gonna do the whole series! I think you would love 9. Hardest one by far, awesome bosses, and music as good as 2 & 3. 10 is also fun! Play them all!!!
Vant wait to see you play mega man 7. Such a good game. Abd can you believe it? Mega man 7 was made in 3 months. Doesn't make sense how good it is for having 3 months work done to it
When I was a kid playing these I was so dumb that I thought they put all those power ups in places that were impossible to get and always played it without getting any of them and it was a nightmare. I never changed suits and always stayed regular Mega Man.
More like 99% playthrough, as you missed the Energy Equalizer :P It's in a secret room near the end of Tomahawk's stage (you actually noticed the breakable wall at 27:00). You find Protoman there, and he gives the Energy Equalizer to you. Looking forward to Mega Man 8, 9, and 10!
Megaman 2 was the first game I had with my NES (Except the original Mario that was with it) And it's been my favorite franchise ever since. Castlevania became my second fav not long after.
Ryu, please: Where did u get your SNES hat in this video? I've been looking for this exact hat for over a year and the best I can find is a defunct Etsy shop with negative reviews! Love your content, and your hat game - please help!
The colour palette and animations in MM6 are some of the best on the system, and the music is up there with 3 for me. The robot masters are all unique and designed well too. I just wish they updated the Megaman sprite; he looks a bit outdated compared to everything else, and it sucks not being able to slide jump, but other than that, it’s one of my favourites in the series
Ryu just goes "Trusty Sidearm" for most of the game, then starts using weaknesses for kicks. MM6 chain is Flame>Blizzard>Plant>Tomahawk>Yamato>Knight>Centaur>Wind>Flame Not bad for a 99% run
I would say theres not really a best starter robot but a good order would be to start with windman>flameman(power)>blizzardman>plantman(jet)>tomahawkman>Yamato>knight>centaur. for a good order and boss weakness. the only requirement is flame man and plant and before the final four to get the beat parts since they require power/jet to access. that route circles perfectly so whoever you start with just tag the rest on the end.
Mega Man 7 video up now - ua-cam.com/video/muXb9r5ISnY/v-deo.html
Ryu: Whoa I can fly! Why am I not always using this?
Ryu, literally the next stage: *forgets about flying so constantly missing things, complaining about awkward jumps, and can't reach certain secrets* Why do they make you do that?? How do you do that? I'm going to have to come back to this stage! 🤣
Such a great video! I never played 6 but looks like it held up pretty well!
Yes! Finally! Welcome to the final installment of the NES collection!
This is why you're my favorite UA-cam gamer! MegaMan for life!
You don’t realize the time spent when you watch a whole megaman play through on the toilet
Bless your anal tears
Tbe ring on my now fully asleep ass says otherwise 😅
Lol
Y'all need more veggies.
You'll realise when you stand up and your legs are jelly.
What’s so upsetting is that Ryu didn’t use any of the bosses powers but consistently kept trying to use Beat.
Yeah, at first, I thought it was a buster only run, but then I saw he kept trying to use beat
Beats life matters
You're correct, sometimes MM6 has input dropping. Especially noticeable on jumps
You're Daniel Vallie? You are who they mentioned at 1:12:52? That's awesome!
I've literally been waiting for years for more Mega Man! I watch your MM11 speed runs all the time. ELEGANCE.
Watched the whole thing. Very unusual for me with a video this long. All the praise to you Ryu.
Glorious! I've been waiting for years! I'm so excited!
@@wizulus Hey I use your level viewer!
Oh my god finally I’ve been waiting for this!
A 100% playthrough on the Ryu channel? Never thought I'd see the day
Not really 100 % he missed the item for energy in the broken wall he noticed but didn´t go to ;)
Hell yeah so glad to see you return to the mega man series. Love it! 🤘
YES!!! I HAVE been waiting for years!! Watched MM4, MM5 and Wily Wars and was wondering when MM6 was coming out. Gonna enjoy this 🤘🏻❤️
For future reference, here's the robot masters' weaknesses.
1) Knight Man: Yamato Spear
2) Centaur Man: Knight Cutter
3) Wind Man: Centaur Flash
4) Flame Man: Wind Storm
5) Blizzard Man: Flame Blast
6) Plant Man: Blizzard Attack
7: Tomahawk Man: Plant Barrier
8) Yamato Man: Silver Tomahawk
Love this game. Couldn't smash the like button fast enough. Thank you Ryu for uploading this!
☝🤓 technically not 100%, you missed the energy balancer in Tomahawk Man's stage
keep playing megaman! this is a great series. thanks for years of quality content ryu.
Dude so glad you are continuing the series! Cant wait for MM8!
Beat works super well on Dr. Wily.
In mega man 5, but not in part 6
Ya man I was waiting for this vid. This was the very first game I ever purchased with my own money as a kid. I got it while on vacation, so all I could do was read the manuel over and over till we got home to play it. Good stuff.
Yes!! Megaman 6!... Great video Ryu!! Would love to see you play Megaman X4. It is an awesome awesome megaman game that doesn't feel like DLC. LOL
MEGAMAN!!!!!!!! love this game!!! If you find the time play in the really hard series retro games, contra and castlevania from SEGA...love to see that. Thanks for all the amazing content

@ those are the ones im talking about, both from Sega. I try them out and both kicked my butt 🤣
Watching you play this for the first time was such a pleasure. I'm going to be speedrunning the special POW% category next year.
Still think you'd dig the heck out of Mega Man X8 16-bit demake fan game someone made. It's so good.
I second that! I think there are also 8-bit demakes of Mega Man 7 and 8 as well.
Not just Mega Man, but the soundtrack deserves love too.
There's an 8 hour video by Ben Saint on UA-cam that goes over all the Megaman game lore.
Goes over all the different (insert name)man characters etc. Was pretty interesting & put together well.

6 is the first of the MM games I ever played and owned, and still my favorite (on and off with 3). Looking forward to watching this!
"Least I know how to play megaman" dies 6 seconds later
Noooo! You missed the energy balanzer!!! and the Protoman Cameo!!!
How do u get those??
noooo he didnt play the game exactly how you wanted him to

The Energy Balancer, lol
In his favorite boss's stage at that

Yeah. Definitely keep playing more megaman.
Awesome!! I know i'm gonna watch this one more than once
25:15 you know, there is a randomizer for MM 1-6 every time you take dmg the game switches. That's ptetty fun ;D
Loving the megaman content, but wish you would use the other weapons, that's the coolest part of the game!

Still as entertaining as ever. You really are next level good! Continue on wholesome warrior 😂👍🏻🤘🏻
Mega Man 2, 3, and 6 were always my favorites on the Regular NES. The Rush Jet adapters were just trying to show the transitions from Rush to Mega Man.
Good video but one thing missing was some video transitions as you enabled your flying and strong forms.
57:15 Do you think he ignored it on purpose, or was completely oblivious?? 😂😂
Def oblivious. He has some of the worst tunnel vision of anyone I’ve ever seen play video games 😅
he skips on purpose.... he even says that at a separate time
@@sd-ex9je Maybe in Mario World he does, but he didn't here. He just didn't see it.

This was awesome! I'd love to see you play Little Samson. It is a really good game and a ton of fun with some similarities to Mega Man
When you're done with all the Mega Mans, play Rock Man. I bet you'll love it haha
