With this game I always had the feeling that it was ahead of its time. The huge content, great atmosphere and very good gameplay makes it to one of the best 8bit titles ever!
It was way ahead of it's time. The graphics, gameplay, secrets, and powerups were so advanced, it looks like it could have came out on the SNES or Sega Genesis. SMB3 is my favorite video game of all time. It's innovations pushed video games to another level and was beyond any game released on the NES at that time.
I'm so glad this channel has grown like it has. I look forward to these videos each week. Here's to the next 100 episodes! Thank you for all your hard work and mad skills on NES
As someone who does video game guides, this is literally the best guide I've seen for this game. Great use of the extra screen real estate due to the 4:3 aspect ratio. I wish I had seen this video when I attempted to beat the game for the first time last year. Keep up the good work providing guides for folks. Very well done.

I’ve just gotten back into this game via my daughter’s Nintendo Switch. Both the NES and SNES versions are available, I’m partial to the NES version. I’ve loved SMB3 since I was 10 and at 42 I still love it. The greatest platform era of all time IMO. Thank you for this video and for your channel.
This is awesome! It's like, a whole morning/full box of cereal and milk/Saturday morning cartoons! Thank you sir for making these, you're helping keep me (and I'm certain other people) sane!

Wow, i've played this game for years and thought i knew everything that had to be known about it, and even then you showed me some things that i didnt know. Thanks!
Maybe my favorite game of all time. It is hard to articulate to younger folks how exciting it was to watch the Wizard (basically a big advert) and get the Nintendo Power with SMB3 I'm the mail box. Ah the times when we had to wait. And congrats on the milestone. Easily one of my favorite channels. Hits the spot and a big thank you to UCBVG and the puppers.
This was one of the first games I ever played. I now know more than I ever knew I missed in this game. Thanks for this guide. Now I've gotta play through it again!
Crazy how we all knew most of these secretes back then, in a time without (mainstream) internet, these things got passed around from one kid to another.
I appreciate you showing the different kinds of playthroughs. Every time I sit down to play with a friend they go for the whistles every time, it made me miss and just want to play without skips, so I don't go for whistles anymore
God I loved this game. It took seven hours the first time I beat it without warps, and I felt so accomplished. And yet, I didn't know about half of the secrets you put in this. Well done!
Oh my. This might just be my new favourite video. I used the covid lockdown time to master SM3, I've been playing it for 30 years but hadnt beaten it until 2020. I beat it I dont know how many times, I read the Nintendo Power special, all the other literature and thought i knew all the secrets and still you managed to show me things i didnt know about! Something so calming about just watching you absolutely own the best game ever created. Thank you.
Congrats on 100 eps! The coins are probably not spinning on the treasure ship because the ship is a reference to a mythical treasure ship of Japanese folklore. With the ship being ancient, you would expect ancient coinage on it. The coins are only flashing because that's the animation from SMB1, they even cycle yellow>orange>red in the same way, as if the ship itself came from the past.
@@senseicorey9979 , I also have some other bits of trivia, such as a. Lakitu/Kuribo having 1,000 Points in this game, as opposed to SMB, SMB2J, VSMB, ANNSMB, and SMBS, where he is only having 800 Points, b. the Coins all have a value of 100 Points in this game, only 10 points in Super Mario World, and 200 Points in SMB, SMB2J, VSMB, ANNSMB, and SMBS, but that possibly returning in the NSMB series, as well as Super Mario 3D Land/World, and c. the Domino Effect having a smaller points range in this game, as well as in Super Mario World. In those two games, and possibly other newer Mario titles afterwards, the points value went 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 8,000, and 1UP. However, in SMB, SMB2J, VSMB, ANNSMB, and SMBS, the points value went 100, 200, 400, 500, 800, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 5,000, 8,000, and 1UP. Wow I'm amazed how complex and how many stuff this little NES game has. Do much content in such a old game. It's amazing ! I hope even today games can be that cool
You're totally right. I thought I knew every square pixel of this game. 3-2, the platform at the end, never even heard of it. I feel so dumb. I cant believe I never knew. You're a beast, this video was a beast. Nice work dude. Here's to a hundred more. Cheers.
It's so hard to believe a couple of things: This game is over 32 years old now, and that the Japanese version was even harder than the American release. I played this as a kid and it was way harder than anything else I'd ever played to that point, and when I see it streamed on Twitch, most streamers still have massive problems finishing it. Also, congratulations on your 100th video! This channel is like a warm blanket of nostalgia for us Generation X'ers.
dude. this game was not hard, lol. im sitting here holding back laughs at the walkthru aspect of this, simply enjoying the nostalgia but if i could do all this as a 4 year old it cant be that tough.
I'm surprised how difficult it is replaying all these years later. It's still a very good game, but God damn does it get very mean at times. I see the original Tomb Raider constantly getting stick for trying to kill the player, but I find Super Mario Bros 3 harsher. Definitely a game for pros.
One,if not, of the best game guide. You became an expert, and this video is the result of that. Congratulations UCBVG!! Send some petting to those two partners!!!

It’s the video version that I would have watched endlessly as a kid if I had available but because of age we had to resort to just using the Nintendo Player’s Guide. This is definitely a nice companion piece to that amazing magazine walkthrough.
I remember having the 4th of July party soon after this released and all the kids were in my room all over the bunk beds. Needless to say, it wasn't meant to hold like six kids and the bunk beds broke I never forget that.
Lately I’ve been playing these videos while I go to sleep, it’s just so soothing and nostalgic to hear all the Mario 3 sounds but I’m still listening to the commentary and thinking. I’m old lol
This is my fav SMB. Congratulations for hitting 100! Best wishes to you and your puppers!!!!🎉🎉🎉
as a kid we once stumbled upon the white ship, until today never realized there was a white mushroom as well. excellent guide and as always incredible coverage and content
keep up the good work ! - its always a good time to hear your intro :)
Congrats on your Episode 100! I must say you create some of the best content UA-cam has to offer, and I can only imagine the amount of time and effort it takes to put each episode together. I love the format you use to present each game, and watching each new video is the highlight of my week. Keep doing what you do, and hope you reach 100K subscribers soon!
It blows my mind that he hasn't yet. I've been here since like, the third video. They just keep getting better and better.
@@iami3rian394 Totally agree!!!
Agreed. I dont follow many channels but will always drop a like for this man.
This is probably the most detailed walk through ever made. I know this game inside and out and don't need a walk through of SMB III, but you know... UA-cam... One click leads to another.
Congratulations UCBVG and the good dogs! Here’s to the next 100.
Congratulations, UCBVG!
I still own most of these games from my childhood. I never thought I'd beat Adventure of Link until using your video and did it on the first try.
Same. I actually beat TMNT NES due to his review, as well as Castlevania and Metroid. I feel accomplished with beating Zelda 1, 2 and Link to the Past 😆
Congrats UCBVG! Your channel is the highlight of my week! Thanks for everything you do and all your dedication and hard work! Your fans appreciate you!
Same I look forward to drowning out the world for a few hours, I usually don't get the chance until Sunday mornings so I'm not fazed by late episodes, they have all been some of the best anyway.
Dang, I loved this game as a kid. So happy to see it show up on your channel.
I love the homage to Coolio near the end! This is my fav game all time, thanks for the walkthrough
I'm so glad this channel has grown like it has. I look forward to these videos each week. Here's to the next 100 episodes! Thank you for all your hard work and mad skills on NES
This is AI
As someone who does video game guides, this is literally the best guide I've seen for this game. Great use of the extra screen real estate due to the 4:3 aspect ratio. I wish I had seen this video when I attempted to beat the game for the first time last year. Keep up the good work providing guides for folks. Very well done.
Wow, 100 episodes. You’re going places Kylo. The first (and best) video gaming dog. Sad to think I’m turning to a dog to help me beat games I’ve been playing for 30 years.
Seriously though, congrats on the 100th episode and I can say without a doubt we are all looking forward to many more. Keep up the stellar work!!
There's no shame in asking a dog named Kylo for help. I think you underestimate his power.
@@wesleyoldham4222 after 100 episodes I am not underestimating him. I’ve seen what he can do. Unlike my friend in middle school who claimed his dog could beat mega man but be could never show us lol
😊w wet n frfr fry😅yfz😅😅😅 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊fu
I’ve just gotten back into this game via my daughter’s Nintendo Switch. Both the NES and SNES versions are available, I’m partial to the NES version. I’ve loved SMB3 since I was 10 and at 42 I still love it. The greatest platform era of all time IMO. Thank you for this video and for your channel.
Congratulations on 100 Episodes! Thank you for all your work, and for being one of the most consistent videogame tip line creators on UA-cam!
Oh man seeing all theses tricks like the boat in world 8. Brings back so many memories of learning them from my friends. So cool !
This is awesome! It's like, a whole morning/full box of cereal and milk/Saturday morning cartoons! Thank you sir for making these, you're helping keep me (and I'm certain other people) sane!
But its Sunday
@@stevilkenevil9960 I know that's right.. still William isn't alone here, I've seen that sentiment across a lot of UCBVG videos
@@stevilkenevil9960 It's UA-cam. Nothing stopping anyone from saving the vid for next week.
Love this comment, the memories definitely come back watching these. I am lucky that I was a little poor growing up. I was always a console behind. I would have missed the NES.....
Mario and Zelda cereal of course
Wow, i've played this game for years and thought i knew everything that had to be known about it, and even then you showed me some things that i didnt know. Thanks!
Maybe my favorite game of all time. It is hard to articulate to younger folks how exciting it was to watch the Wizard (basically a big advert) and get the Nintendo Power with SMB3 I'm the mail box. Ah the times when we had to wait.
And congrats on the milestone. Easily one of my favorite channels. Hits the spot and a big thank you to UCBVG and the puppers.
It’s a giant Nintendo commercial for a movie but I don’t care. Loved it and could watch it over and over again.
*Screaming*
He touched my breast!!
I've played this game for over 30 years.. and this guy taught me stuff I didn't know. Nice job bro.
This was one of the first games I ever played. I now know more than I ever knew I missed in this game. Thanks for this guide. Now I've gotta play through it again!
This was the first video game I ever played. I was three years old.
Maybe same? it was either this or Street Fighter I'm not sure
Congratulations on 100 episodes!! Well deserved honor for one of the best old school gaming channels out today!
I just finished this game using your guide. I remember as a kid getting soooooo frustrated with this game. It was a lot more fun this time!
Well done!
On average, it takes me anywhere from 3 hours to 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Thank you.
This is my favorite video game of all time. I think it's the greatest game ever. I've been playing since 1990 and have beaten it probably 100 times.
Much respect for making this 3 hour video about this all time classic. You definitely deserve more subscribers.
Take this as a compliment. I like to listen to your walkthroughs while I try to fall asleep. It’s like listening to ASMR for me
Happy 100! I'm so excited for this video! Super Mario Bros. 3 was my entire childhood.
If you can tackle a guide as large and comprehensive as SMB3, you can tackle literally any game from the 8 and 16 bit generations. Well done!
Congratulations on 100 Episodes!! We all love your content and explanations on each game. Thank you 🙏 🎉
Despues De Matar A TODOS Los Jefes
... I've been playing this for thirty fucking years and didn't know about some of these secrets. Well done, sir!
Congratulations on 100 videos! Thank you so much for the hours of old school gaming entertainment!
Excellent playthrough. I learned about lots of secrets from this video. The airships are the most difficult for me.
Interesting bit of trivia there
@@senseicorey9979 , I also have some other bits of trivia, such as a. I am sure that there are some more things that I could think about if I had the time, though.
Takarabune? After reading your comment I did a Google search. I love Jaoanese history and folklore yet I never heard of this. Thank you, I'm learning something new and interesting.
I love this game. Takes me back to my childhood. I play it with my son now
This is an awesome game and brought back so many memories. Congrats to episode 100 in this series. Easily one of the best channels on UA-cam
Ah Mario 3 this game trained me when I was a child i remember fondly how my neighbour and myself played it for hours and how excited we were each time we reached a new world^^
Congratulations on the 100th episode. My brother and beat this game so many times. I'm genuinely excited to see what secrets you show here today that I didn't know about
oh well, what can I say? SMB3 is my fav game, and this is one the - if not THE - bedt videos I have ever seen. Thanks a lot for the hard work!
Happy 100th episode! As many games as I hope that you will be getting to SMB 3 really is an amazing choice for an anniversary episode.
This is The Most complete video in the whole UA-cam. Thank You very much, I've never played this game, but now, for the first time in my life, I will have to try it out
Congratulations on episode 100!! This game brings back alot of memories from my childhood. The best one being my mom playing with me and losing it on the angry sun level. That sun always got her
This is one of my favorite games super Mario bros 3 it's great to see you playing it and it brings back memories and so much nostalgia
Wow! You are awesome! I’ve never seen such thorough commentary! AND you’ve shown me several new tricks/hidden items/gems that I never knew were there and I’ve been playing Mario 3 30 years at this point! Such an awesome job!
I seriously thought I already knew every secret in this game. Oh man, was I wrong by a lot...well played
This is absolutely my favorite Mario game of all time! I remember logging so many hours finding secrets through trial and error. Congrats on 100 episodes, keep up the good work!!
My favorite video game of all time also. I've been playing since Christmas 1990.
one of my all time favorite games. i remember waiting to in the car to with my mom to get my brother at school... and then we got to get home and play the game, but i got so excited i forgot to go to the bathroom before we left and crapped my pants 😅 (i was in kindergarten, gimme a break) my mom was so pissed 😂.
anyhow, i’ve beaten this so many times, as many ways as you can, yet i’m still watching this. such a great game. an all time classic. edit: of course i knew many of these tips from good old Nintendo Power, back when gaming mags were actually great reading, so much so that that’s actually how i learned how to read
Wow, it's been 100 episodes already! And what a way to celebrate, with one of the best games on the NES and all of time. Here's to more UCBVG!
Clicked “like” before the video started. This one’s a no-brainer.
Congrats! Deserved success, your job is fantastic. And man, Mario 3 was the first game that I ever had.... Awesome memories
Wow I'm amazed how complex and how many stuff this little NES game has. Do much content in such a old game. It's amazing ! I hope even today games can be that cool
Congrats on 100 episodes! It's been a fantastic ride! Here's to 100 more!
You're totally right. I thought I knew every square pixel of this game. 3-2, the platform at the end, never even heard of it. I feel so dumb. I cant believe I never knew. You're a beast, this video was a beast. Nice work dude. Here's to a hundred more. Cheers.
The amount of things I learned in this video made me feel like a kid again from how surprised and excited I was, a truly amazing video!
this is my fav game of all time and I love how thorough your vid is
Mine too
It's so hard to believe a couple of things: This game is over 32 years old now, and that the Japanese version was even harder than the American release.
@@rickrhone8420 Damn Rick you're so cool
@@caseycuster5453 oh look, the brony brothers.
I'm surprised how difficult it is replaying all these years later. It's still a very good game, but God damn does it get very mean at times. I see the original Tomb Raider constantly getting stick for trying to kill the player, but I find Super Mario Bros 3 harsher. Definitely a game for pros.
gen x'er myself. i remember when the game went on sale for the first time in Lionel Play World.
One,if not, of the best game guide. You became an expert, and this video is the result of that. Congratulations UCBVG!! Send some petting to those two partners!!!
