Just found out about it because I was looking to create a Tilemap in Unity and watched this sounds awesome but the latest beta build of 5.4 doesn't have it and I just looked at the road map and cannot even find it? I read below it was aiming for March 2016 and here it's May? Did this get scraped? I'd hate to begin the work of making my own system if this is coming. Edit: I missed the In Development part didn't think it was that far off... sucky :(

Very nice. However, the Smart Sprite implementation is pretty much the same as the Ferr2D plugin, which makes it obsolete. This is unfortunate as it is a great plugin by very helpful developer.
I loved the talk, and the guy is cool too, but he is like the Phill Anselmo of talks (for those who know Pantera) he will GET the audience applause, one way or another! LOL Cheers, great talk!

I would like someone to answer a question of mine. I always wanted to make games of my own and have a lot of ideas which are still lacking but will improve and bear into greatness when i put enough effort. I unfortunately do not have money to purchase the software so i would like to know if its possible to make an android 2D Side-Scrolling Fighting , puzzle mainly focused on physics etc. can be created within the free version AND published ? Also , What is the difference in the paid and free version ? I am skilled at programming and graphic designing so i am willing to make games all on my own.
First one of these talks I've watched from start to finish, really fun to watch and I didn't realize that the tilemap system was that versatile.
So glad you guys posted these videos for those that can't make it to these events. Very impressive features!

Looks great, but you still have the line tearing problem between sprites/tiles.

There's a beta for it if you are interested, be sure to make backups before porting games to this version tho!

I think that source engine 2 team, unreal editor team, gamemaker and a random idiot gave to this awesome masterpiece dislike :(
