You have the same luck I do…🤣 Where ever you got them poles for the Bimini cover, I’d get another set. They held up well considering. Can’t wait till part 2 to see what’s jerkin you off…🤣🤣 Good video!
You cannot make a 25hp two-stroke, twin cylinder motor like this one into a 35hp. You can get fairly close, but it won't be a real 35hp. Don't believe me? Pull the bypass covers on a 25 and also on a true 35 (1984 and earlier) and look at the intake ports. The 20-25-30 have finger ports; the 35 has two large bridge ports. The bridge ports are more open and really let the fuel/air flow better at higher rpms. But, you can have fun putting a 35 carb on a 25 and get a boost in performance. I love the show. Thanks for the videos.
Oh boy here we go again! Hahahaa Yeah these power heads are not early 80's, they are early 90's. One was a 89, 25 and the other a 93, 30hp. Basically identical, the 25 Tracker had the best compression and good ignition so I used it. The 30 had the newer style "plastic top" carb with the 67D high speed orifice which is exactly what a 93 35 hp used.? I then bumped it up to a 72D jet from an old 70's 25hp and swapped the bypass cover from the 30 too. The intakes were the same and I think the exhaust was the same. The early 35's were a strange breed, usually remote control and long shaft. I did put a early 80's 35 carb on my 83/84 25 Evinrude without any other changes and it ripped! Like it was meant to be! I luved that outboard, my 15' Dura Craft would hydroplane! Unbelievable, standard prop/pitch. Anyway some of those 35's were actually "detuned" 40 horses. If you look up some 35's models/parts they're really listed as 40 hp parts but still called a 35. What really puzzles me is if you look up a 93 30 & 35 they're are identical. I can't figure out what makes the 93 35 a 35. So call it what you want, Hahaha and Thanks for watching and commenting! Stay tuned !
I know they are early 90's. That is why they have finger ports instead of bridge ports like only the 35's had (which were dropped from the consumer line-up after 1984).@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1
I mentioned 1984 because that is the last year the 35hp was offered to the general public in the show room catalog. I have had several bridge port 35's (short shaft/tiller/rope start) and they will outrun a 40hp Mercury on identical boats. With bridge ports they are a "boy dog" for sure. As for the 35's you mention which take 40hp parts - could those be the jet drive versions of the 40/50 you are seeing in the parts manuals, because they were rated as 35's? Anyway, stay safe!@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1
I have an 88 25 envinrude on my grampas original 88 16' lowe. I restored and painted it and i get people stopping taking pics when its in my driveway uncovered. One day guess ill do this, known about it alongtime but never needed more power for that little jon boat, already flies and anymore i think could easily flip the boat. Sounds like i gotta donit one day. 😂
Hours of braising all spots and there was alot. Now it's like new blue and white, only one painted like it. Even painted motor to match and used old style evinrude custom made vinyl logos.
Between the weather and the prop you can't catch a break. Like the hardtop idea. If you want to make it lower, just make a hole that your head fits through.😂 Same speed at lower rpm--- less wear on the engine?
I like my 25/35 Johnson on the 15' skiff. Looks like it'll need a StingRay foil if he puts it on that boat. WOT on mine, 31mph bumping 32-with a 30lb tacklebox, 6 gal livewell, 3-4 8500 Penn and rods, 1 ten foot cast @ 1 1/2lb foot, 12 gal fuel tank, 2 batteries, 50lb MinnKota, my fat a$$. My other work boat, 17' with a Merc 75 Force is trying to take 1st place in my 'liking' department tho. I was thinking hard on that 25/35 Ev when you were doing it, but you short-shaft it, couldn't use it as a backup. Hard top, hell yeah, look good on that boat.
I think the console is going to shake to much. Look at my hardtop and it shakes a little bit. Mint on console and maybe rear feet mounted to the gunnel. JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐟🐠🎣🛥
4:37 Are you sure thats not a crop circle, you know, Martians and flying saucers 😉

Hahaha! See you on the next one!
Hi TOO, be careful with that small john boat and motor. Any faster and you may need a pilot's license🤣
Hahaha! Thanks again !
It looks like Sasquatch ripped a hole in your top or what do you have in Florida grass man or something? Great job see you in the next one 👍🏻🤘🏻
Hahaha! I forgot what they call it. Hairyman? Haha thanks again & stay tuned !

A little extra power never hurts! Thanks for tuning in!
