This had been such an affirming video. As someone getting their second BS in Biochemistry after realizing that my passion for science and medicine hasn’t faded a glimmer in the time of being a student and post graduate- I wrestled for a long time with why I wanted to go into medicine after first realizing that I wanted to. I wrestled with the thoughts of what misconceptions I may have- and what false notions I may have had about my life with a career in medicine. After deciding that working to become a physician was my goal, I often asked myself if I was pursuing something prestigious for social reasons, even though my constant hunger for new knowledge in reading case studies, research journals and pieces by leaders in the field added fuel to the flame in my passion. It can take months and years to reach the right answer, yet you will be glad that you took the time to do so.

I would love to see a video about dermatology, especially since you mentioned it as the #1 most competitive specialty in a previous video. Despite being extremely competitive, I feel that there is a huge negative stigma associated with individuals that want to and actually pursue working in dermatology; people think that we just want to do botox all day or that we’re in it for the money 🤷🏻♀️
I'm 13. I have tourettes and anxiety, and neurology has always kinda been in my life, because my mom has anxiety too and my brother tourettes. So I've always had to tag along or go to one of my own appointments. I've always found it super interesting how that works, and honestly being an er doctor wouldn't bother me I think, because I like to stay busy and blood doesn't affect me but neurology interests me the most.

I'm targeting to be an Orthopedic Surgeon. I already started to study hard and became the Valedictorian and I'm currently attending a Science High School and doing great. I'm planning to advance study the basics of becoming a surgeon, its rules as well as medical illness. Can you do a video/documentary as to how to be an Orthopedic Surgeon? Like the steps, the years, etc. Thank you.
High schooler from abroad, I was surfing the web on what subjects I should be studying, but there were a lot of mix ups, such as info from different countries haha. Seeing things such as Level 1 or Level 2 or Further Advanced phys+chem+bio+maths made me a tad bit confused on the steps. This kind of made it easier, though I unfortunately am not from th US. Still, thank you greatly.

Hello, I am 11 years old and I’ve been wanting to be a surgeon ever since my mom decided to be an anesthesiologist, I have been studying with her and helping her with her homework, sometimes she says I’m so smart because I focus on her online study book and when she reads a question I instantly remember looking at something about, I really believe I can achieve my goal but I’m not sure if I’m capable of that ability, but I’m ready to step up and show myself that I am capable of being a surgeon.

I want to become a doctor one day. My parents support me, I just have a very lazy type of personality. I am trying hard to fix it. I am really proud of myself because I just moved to a country where their standards are 3 years ahead of the grade I'm currently in. But, I'm getting 80-90 percent in everything, and its only been 2 weeks since I started! I believe in myself :D

How come did u not include dentists in the doctors category what do u think dentists are ? Some human beings who are mechanics? Dentists are doctors of dental surgery just like any other field in medicine you specialize in a specified category like cardiology psychiatry etc dentists are called so because they deal with the oral cavity and the problems associated with it!! Next time if u have any dental problem go to a general physician or anyone who u think is a doctor but not a dentist because you don’t deserve the treatment
