Really? Because the dude has literally no idea how and why the local trains are crowded in Mumbai. These locals are crowded because of people coming in and leaving Mumbai daily from North side (Virar, NSP, Vasai) and not within Mumbai. These roads will do nothing to alleviate the pressure on Mumbai locals.

@@geopolitics8709 more accessable public transport. Literally, any solution of urban planning problems always comes out as public transport. Now, I shall give you a personal example, last year I had to go for an exam for online certification at a certain spot in Kolkata, I had to take my personal vehicle there and look for a place to park. This year a new metro line has been open at that spot and when I needed to access the venue again this year, I didn’t had to take my vehicle.
I grew up in Varanasi, and in the inner core of the city is always packed, due to heavy influx of tourists and large local population. It seems impossible to decongest that area. But in this country we have a fine example, the delhi metro helped a lot to decongest Chowri Bazar, Nayi Sadak in old delhi. Almost all European cities promote public transportation, cycle lanes and pedestrian crossings. If i have to show an extreme example, the tram system in Lisbon is one of a kind, tram network running in narrow alleyways that has only few inches of clear space left on sides when these trams pass.but this network works and helps a great deal to congest the cities. If we have to make our cities beautiful we have to: • Make our mobility better, promote public transportation; • Uniform urban landscape (like chandani chowk redevelopment); • Better our sense of planning spaces (mixed use development); • Proficient Urban design; I believe India can easily achieve this, we just need to enforce our urban laws, and for urbanism we must not follow America Europe would be a better role model for india.
Thank you Ji iss baat pe charcha karne ke liye. Glad to see someone is talking about the importance of mixed use developement, walkability and public transport in India. Fellow "Not Just Bikes" here.
The only thing that will save mumbai traffic is development of tier 2 cities. There's literally no space left to sustainably make mumbai more accessible. Already the air quality has deteriorated this year. There's relentless smog everywhere. If we continue like this it's only going to get worse. The air quality worsening plus the heat will result in casualities. We need our trees.
What a wonderful video! Even a child or a person without knowledge of Mumbai city can understand your explanation! Superb presentation, keep up the great work.
This is the first time I have watched your video, and I immediately subscribed to it. Bro u have a lot of knowledge and we really get a lot of information from your videos. Finally someone on UA-cam, making commonsens videos on urban infrastructure in India.God knows how many times I have to debate/suffer from the groyped up people who get excited when they hear/see about big numbers and infrastructure project.
The only problem is that going from Kandivali to marine point at peak hour takes 3-4 hours. So during peak hours, it will reduce to 1.5 hours only but with the construction of metro along with this will surely help!
Excellent video. Especially the analysis done on urban planning with special focus on Mumbai is among the best that I have seen in recent times. I hope the planners in the administration view this video and learn from it. Sustainable development is what we need.
Good presentation ! Every development comes at a cost , Being from south Mumbai , I miss the open space. The chill vibes we use to get at the queen necklace point. Hours after college chilling there. Just brings back the special vibe that place had. The current people won’t experience this but they would get a different advantage
Sir you should also have mentioned for good pedestrian and cycle pathways that the brihanmumbai mahanagar palika should introduce Singapore like traffic road rules plastic island projects as well as for ecosystem management we can use Japan's Traditional Japanese gardens which can be categorized into three types: tsukiyama (hill gardens), karesansui (dry gardens) and chaniwa gardens (tea gardens). The small space given to create these gardens usually poses a challenge for the gardeners. And Thailand like waste management rules and Japan-Singapore like waste management techniques of incineration or garbage-pit gardens, plastic recycling and reusage industrio-commercial projects and phytoplastic production with commercial and economic hubs like bandra kurla CBD Belapur and CST like projects
I have to say I have not seen such absolutely first rate graphics, brilliant explanation of complex infrastructure projects seamless mix with video and incredible editing and an eye for detail, anywhere except your channel. I wish you would update this with cost and timelines which Indian projects never meet.
Good to see finally some infrastructure is being completed in Mumbai....I hope though that they think of pedestrian rights.... years ago I was trying to cross a road with my aged mother to visit the US consulate, and a stupid taxi driver almost ran us down
You have done a thorough research and have brilliant insight on Mumbai planning. Presentation is made with so much information which I think should be presented to Govt in order to execute few important tasks.
Great video and good point about lane narrowing (traffic calming). even up here in the NCR, you'll find 5 cars driving next to each other in a 3 lane road and its crazy and dangerous. Having watched the drawbacks mentioned in this video, perhaps, if they really have to build on the sea then they could have built a metro or monorail line that went from north to south
What an amazing explanation video!! He made an boring infrastructure video so interesting & explained it in such a way that anyone could understand it... Hats off to you bro👍👍
Only urbanists and transportation engineers know what blunder they are making. They are more congesting the south Mumbai which is already congested. This decision is influenced by the elite class having offices or houses in south Mumbai. But Mumbai Trans Harbour Link is essential.
I was thinking the same thing. It will make everything so congested. We need super highways like China because they have the same population and its working well for them.
What a video man wow ⭐💕 I am from south mumbai ... & I can totally understand this ..... People use their cars even to go to the nearest restaurant!!! (Also due to coastal road project ... They removed walking space.... Ngl,... Really waiting for this project to finish ....! really Need recreational areas😭 )

Indian lived in Mumbai, living abroad now. It is crazy how small was the infrastructure has been to cater to Mumbai in comparison to how big of a demand there is.
Superb Presentation. Agreed that Public transportation should be developed rather than coastal roads that too on reclaimed land. This is surely going to affect Mumbai in the long run. All this done to satisfy the people with cars and just show infra development. Politics rules than the real facility for the common man. 21.20

What should India needs to do to remove Parkings from Cities ?

only cheap public transport can save Mumbai traffic you are right... metro should be accessible to all
