- The Coastal Road (officially to be named as Chattrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Motorway) is an under construction 8-lane, 29.2-km long grade separated expressway that would run along Mumbai's western coastline connecting Marine Lines in the south to Kandivali in the north. It is projected to be used by 130,000 vehicles daily, and is expected to reduce travel time between South Mumbai and the Western Suburbs from 2 hours to only 40 minutes.

There is already a metro aqua line planned which is under ground
It is there.
Metro lines should be built within the city so that most of the city is within walking range of metro stations. Bypass roads like this are the opposite, they are separated from the city to divert traffic
There is a network of metros planned in Mumbai which will be executed in next 10 years.
Currently Line 1 and Line 2A & Line 7 are active. Line 3 (first underground metro in India) will be operational by march. Line 3 (also called Aqua Line) will connect south mumbai to north mumbai

@atif 100 billion dollars should be spent in next 10-15 years to make Mumbai top 5 world city. It will come within top 10 world city after the completion of all onging projects.

This road is built by BMC ( tax payer s of Mumbai).
Like other road projects in India we need not to pay Toll Tax.
It is totlly toll tax free.
It is connected to worli Bandra sealink where toll is taken.. 😊

Hoping atleast 8-9 of the 14metro lines, atleast two terminals and both runaways of Navi Mumbai airport, Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet train, transharbor link, virar alibaug multimodal corridor, Versova Bandra and Versova dahisar sealink, Delhi Mumbai expressway, Mumbai pune expressway missing link, Mumbai nagpur expressway, sewri worli connector, coastal road - eastern freeway tunnel, goregaon mulund link road are implemented by then and advanced construction of remaining metro lines, Mumbai nagpur bullet train, development of third Mumbai near Navi Mumbai airport, dharavi redevelopment , kharghar IT Park, eastern waterfront development is underway. A lot of huge projects that could finally give Mumbai the uplift it needs

The overall project is good but I think the 2000 vehicles capacity parking spaces is so less for city like Mumbai, it should be at least 10k capacity. Btw great video keep it up droneman.
I think he said there are a few such 2000 car garages.

10k capacity? Gosh, you need that much of land or reclaimed land for that. Besides that it only adds to more congestion and pollution. Instead mass public transportation infrastructure should have been developed.

Phase 2 is much more challenging i.e from bandra to kandivali. Lot of ecological challenges will be faced. Phase 1 is the easiest compared to phase 2
Speed of this project is god level... India never witnessed this type of speed in any construction speed...

We can build 10 roads like this and even that won't solve the Traffic problem in Mumbai . It can only be solved with High speed Railways and point to point connectivity
Not all people like to use railways.
If I want to travel fast,cars/two wheeler is the only solution inside a city.

@@buisnesstycoon7910 no brother, technically it was in planning from 1962 , but final construction works started by BMC in December 2018 in which foundation stone was laid on december 18 ,2018
And at that time ,BMC was under BJP and Shiva Sena alliance in which they have 82 and 84 counsellor respectively
So it was joint efforts of both the party not the Shiv Sena or BJP alone because none ruled the BMC alone. Were always in alliance
And it was delayed so much , but construction nis in pace from last 2 years ,
UBT may become a great leader like Bala Saheb but rather he ended up like this
According to me , when UBT will start follow Bala saheb, he will realise that what he is doing , surely he will come back

Both India and Maharashtra Governments should concentrate in developing infrastructure at Maharashtra preferably out of Mumbai . Out of Mumbai, the cost of construction is far cheaper . Secondly overcrowded Mumbai should be de-conjusted by doing this kind of construction out Mumbai. Preferably at Pune , Nagpur , Sambhaji-Nagar, ....Also upgrade as second capital of Maharashtra

This and MTHL will only put more stress on the City.. unless feeder roads and connectors are widened there'll be massive bottlenecks. Especially when quite a few bridges in the city are scheduled to be demolished, then there is the problem of encroachment.. BMC seems to be randomly picking projects from the draw box (lottery) instead of working in a coordinated manner. The latest news this morning is MTHL openning has been rescheduled from the 25 Dec. As much as I want to drive on that road it'll not cater to the needs of it's users unless there are proper exits, there is a risk of massive pile up at Mumbai end..
