Wow! That's a lot of fine gold. What's even more impressive is the amount of gear you guys hauled down to the beach. Holy cow! Great cleanup.
Fine gold is right it must take a million specs to make a gram. Can't wait to give it another try this spring.
you changed your name on your channel. I like it.
Great job! I was looking forward to your beach trip! Made my day! Glad you did it! Thank you!

It was a blast to get out of the cold for awhile.
Good evening Alan, good video, looks like you have some gold, I was waiting for this video, I hope you and your wife had a good time, I'm going to lake Superior to have my chance at some beach gold, see you next great adventure of prospecting gold.
Hello We had a blast we had to head north for a few days to rest up before we headed home. I have never seen so much gold before in my pan. Thanks for watching.
Wow my friend, what fun it looks like you had. Can’t wait til the snow melts enough here to get back out.
Great fun. Iam with you can't wait to get back to the hills. The snow is going fast.
Cool, I bet it was a nice change, not only weather, but also in mining style. Have a good one.
Thanks Jerry. That was nice to away from the cold and snow for awhile.
I met you guys a few days ago in the same spot. Thanks for the chat
Hi Ben. I haven't been over there since las year.
Hi guys looks like you're having too much fun, I'm glad you think it's warm, yes it is compared to where you came from. Dixie know I was in S. Dakota but no longer there I'm in Bullhead City AZ and it can really get hot here. Any way good to see you guys enjoying your self I hope you get a lot of gold and thanks for sharing. Talk with you soon and looking forward to the other videos. Sherron
Thanks Sharron We had a blast on the beach. One thing off the bucket list.
Nice Gold! That trip looks like it was a lot of fun (and you got some gold). Looking forward to more of your videos. Liked and subbed!
Thank you Arizona Bob You have some nice gold and weather down there. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Alan! Let me know if you plan on being in the area. Best regards, Bob
oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!! Love it when a plan comes together!!! How awesome is that, huh?
LOL --- no joke though.... From -33 to 45........ that's 78 degree swing, which is major (like a major heat wave!).
That was so nice to get out of the cold and snow for awhile. as soon as I go through these cons we should have a pile of gold. What a great trip.
Very nice.
Ron
Here in Saskatchewan we are getting a big heat wave hopefully snow will be gone soon. Great video!
Us to 50 degrees for the next week. Thanks for watching.
been itching to see how your trip went down. damn! there is a lot of black sand on that beach. your mats definately worked well. some really nice fine gold out there.
Thanks Louis that was a fun trip. The mats worked great. I talk more about how that black sand and gold end up on that beach in my next video.
That is some really fine gold! Looks really fun, although I once lived in WA and I know it can be a bit wet. Nice video, the gold in the mats shows! I am heading to AZ for a 4 day desert prospecting trip next week. peace out
Oh man that is some fine gold I think I have a million specs. Good luck to you on your trip I hope you find a nugget or two.
I live in AZ, can you just go to any desert lol how do you know where the gold will be? Does it have to be a near the river?
Just subscribed, notifications and a like!!!
Thank you I hope you enjoy.
good job guys!
Thanks Matt.
Oh nice, I live in WASHINGTON. I know exactly where you guys are. Glad you're having luck!
I love the Washington coast. Thanks for watching
Nice
Allen👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 you made it happen! I see what you can do with legos now let's see what you can do with Lincoln logs🤔
Ha Ha Maybe my son still has some he had a whole crate full of Legos.
Jesus Man! 7 level cube an a 8fter! You weren't playin! Good on ya Alan. Nice vid!
Thanks Mark No we where not playing around the last 2 days we went from dawn to dusk and I think it's going to pay off.
gonna be some fine gold there!
Oh man fine is not the word it is dust at best.
Looks like you had fun.
We had a blast.Thank you
You can hear it in his voice! Happy as a kid in a candy store. Lol I would be too.
I think those Lego mats are the Greatest, I will be making some, for myself, and I just hope I get someplace to use them. We don't have any Gold in the Central part of Florida, unless you find a sunken ship someplace that had Gold on it.
Amy Hepker you could always experiment with Home Depot sand.... I and others have found some specs.
Thanks Amy The mats are working great. I hope you can get out soon they are a lot of fun to run. Thanks for watching.
I lived in west central Florida, (Pinellas and south Pasco county's), for 27 years and the only gold that I found was in the orange groves unless you mined uranium out of the phosphate mines in the middle of the state.. :)
My regards to your Wife💐👌🇵🇷
One of these days..sigh. cant wait to get out there
Me either go in the early spring when all the blond sands are washed away by the winter storms.
You have found more Gold than on Oak Island, Good job
Thank you and had a ton of fun.
Cool man....
Thanks we had a blast.
Sooo nice to see sooo much gold, and you didn't have to freeze (too much) for it. If you ever feel like remaking your mats you CAN color them by adding cheap Acrylic Paint (.$0.87 to $1.67 Hobby stores, wal-mart etc.) to the silicone goo after the water bath. Mix it in quickly and completely and form the mat as normal. Takes about 20 mins to setup. I Avoid Cobalt Hue as that seems to inhibit the silicone setting up. Your videos are so much fun to watch when you are using your own equipment that you put together!
Thanks for the tip we had a great time. I also found a way to color the mats by adding food coloring to the silicone before it's put into the dawn dish soap. Since I dig in mostly clay and you can't see the mats after five minutes anyways it's not that big of a deal for me. glad you enjoy my vids Thanks for watching.
That gold there is amazing!! its hard to believe there is so much there.........no looking just dig......just think if a guy went into production mode there a reverse helix trommel would kick butt there!! great vid Al I was waiting for it my friend, so jealous of the weather!! look forward to the next one!!
Thanks Arnie Man if you had the right setup you could do well there. I hope you can get out soon we had a blast.
with that much gold I am amazed no one there has gone full bore!! I sure hope I can get out at least once this month.....=(
Thank you for this video. I just had to move from Washington to no gold Oklahoma, my gold cube is sad. Man I miss home!
You are welcome I am surprised your gold cube has not ran away from home I hope you can get back some time.
Oklahoma has black gold
I do UK beaches, most of the beach is pretty barren, but try this, find a spot where the seawashes against a cliff, over 95% of the gold i find is in the first 10ft under the cliff.. the waves hitting the cliff and bouncing back then hitting the oncoming wave create a lowpressure zone and drop the heaviest material out first.
Ive tested all areas of the beach and under cliffs was always best. ive a video trying to show it if you want to look
Great information we tried the cliff area and it wasn't that good. Like I said before I am not a full time beach miner the ocean is 500 miles from where I am but it sure was a lot of fun. I will check out your videos thanks for letting me know.
I'm going there for a week this next week and will be having fun
I hope you do well. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
great job Alan
I would be curious to know if you would next time separate the top half from the bottom half to see how much was getting past the top section.
thanks for ALL you do
Great idea but it takes so much time to clean up that beach gold.
The mats seemed to work great on that beach sand great job
Thank you they worked great. I can't wait to see how they do in your dredge.
I haven't got around to making them yet still sitting with my gold hog mats in motherlode and scrubber
@@dyergoldprospecting Nothing wrong with those mats at all. It might be more trouble than it is worth for you.
Heading back to Montana tomorrow, cant wait for runoff around Butte and Virginia City... Seems y'all had a pretty chilly winter this year...
You waited just long enough they say great weather for the next week. Drive safe a god luck on the gold this year.
@@alanrobertson2510 Yessir, will do. Have you ever panned Pony?
Have been watching your progress with the silicone LEGO mats with much interest wondering how it would work on the black beach sands, and here you are in my own backyard testing it out for me. How cool is that. The weather does get gnarly on that beach but it sounds like you had it all. How do like that heavy sand? Lots of magnetite. About All I can do is 20 buckets on a good day when the days start to get longer. Sub micron gold for sure. Check it under a micron for sure. Rob is definitely the man in the know I got my cube from him. Many thanks for the vid.
Oh that black sand is heavy! I f I was going to be a beach miner I would make my mats black that way you can see the gold. The last 2 days we went from dawn to dusk and I was beat. Rob is the man on beach mining for sure. Good luck on the beach.
Thanks for the comeback Alan. Yes Rob from Washingtonbeachmining has it dialed in and has the special mats for extracting the fines. He also is working with Doc from gold hog on the new wave mat for flour extraction. Washington beach black sands is the ultimate test. Drop a note if you plan on coming out this way again.
Hello ALAN, Hope all is well❤🎉💐👌🇵🇷
Thank you for Subscribing!
Gold gold 💰💰💰💰👍👍👍
It's every where on that beach.
Love my cube
If I was a full time beach miner I would have a cube they are awesome. Thanks for watching.
In LA, -33 is 45.
Lucky man
Thank you what a blast.
wow…. This is what I love about God creation…. To be part of that moment priceless. If I can help magnesium oratate zinc oratate lithium oratate vitamin D+k2 and lots of iodine to make you feel like is Summer in the winter…. Thanks for the video…. Even we are temporary we do things that can only be possible here because God let Adam and Eve do what they did haha amassing God love for us because he see you doing this! Yes! That’s the reason he did not stop Adam and Eve for doing what they did.
Thanks again. Amassing video! Can’t wait to do the same and looking to buy your products to.
Everyone wish was hunting for gold👍 good luck sir?
Thank you
Awesome video Alan! I really appreciate your DIY spirit and projects! Is it a regulation there that prohibits high banking with runoff onto the beach? Are suction nozzles prohibited by regulation as well? Thanks for sharing your experience buddy! Aaron
Hi Aaron yes you can run a high banker and use a suction nozzle on the beach the problem is how to get the water there is no way that I can see to keep a suction hose in ocean with 10 foot high waves coming in. Everyone that I saw running on the beach was hauling buckets of water up to their set ups.
@@alanrobertson2510 Really interesting place and gold deposit! Super cool, thanks Alan.
which mats were you using at the beach and also for clean up I also mine at benson beach or cape disapointment I use a gold hog piglet wold you mind sharing that info thank you great video Preston griffin
Hello Preston The mat I was running last year was a silicone mat that I made with legos as the mold before I had the 3D printer and they worked ok the new mats are working great on the beach gold I can't wait to get over there and give them a try.
is it legal to remove sand and take it elsewhere to process?
What ever happened to Ira? Thanks for the video.
FIRST!! first one to the crick gets the gold!
gOLD SO PRETTY NO MATTER WHAT SIZE IT IS.
Looks like you had a great time. That is a beautiful area. Thanks for including us. Looks like you got some nice gold out of it. How do you think the new mats worked overall on that fine gold?
Oh man we had fun and very tired at the same time. The mats worked very well I was surprised on how much of the fine gold they caught I was dang close to what we where catching with the gold cube. How is the furnace coming?
Alan Robertson
Looks like a fun time for sure. I'd love to take another trip up there. I'm finding that metal kind of sticks to the silicone and that really helps in keeping the gold. Furnace is coming along. Just need to find something that I can use for the burn chamber that I can get out once the cement has set up. Also looking into cutting the parts out of firebrick with a hole saw. Hope to have something soon.
What sort off permit did you have to have to beach sluice like that? Where can I buy one? Thanks👍
You just need to have the Washington gold and fish pamphlet with you when you are mining. You can download it online for free. Good luck and have fun.
Can you tells us what brand of sluice machine you're using?
It is a very quite machine.
Also did you have to get a permit to mine on the beach?
One last double question. Have you compared the gold washout volume between the top and the bottom boxes and if so, what have you found?
Sorry so many question, I just find this very interesting.
Thanks and good luck!
Hello. I am running a recirculating sluice box setup with a 1200 gph 12 v bilge pump. The sluice and mats are made by me.
What you need to have with you for a permit is the Washington gold and fish pamphlet that you can get free online.
I have done that before and it is a ton of work. Beach gold super fine and hard to separate from the heavy black sand. Nothing gets all the gold the first run you can keep on running it and get more gold. It's like a gift that keeps on giving.
looks like the gold in my tailings 4 to 12 oz a ton ,
LMAO... when your dealing with 33 below... 45 degrees must seen like a heat wave!!!
Yes it was a heat wave and it felt so good. Thanks for watching
Hey amigo merhaba Türkiye den selamlar çok süper Bom kanalı ma bekliyorum başarılar dilerim kalsedon siyah opal taşı videolarım var teşekkür ederim
Thank you for the comment. Thanks for watching
Alan been watching your channel for awhile. Live just outside Missoula. Would love to go with you sometime.
Thanks for watching Jason. Sounds good to me lets do it sometime this summer.
I was at ocean shores about..5 years ago?
It was about 85° and zero wind.
Iv lived in western Washington my whole life, and never saw weather like that at the ocean.
Never tried the beach sands.
Any special permits or anything needed?
Are you running salt water, or bringing fresh?
I know sometimes that the tide is way out, fresh would be closer and not as hard on the equipment.
I have been out there when it was 100 in Seattle and a fog in the mornings at West port. Where we where at you need to have the Wa gold and fish pamphlet with you. You can get it on line. You must use the water from the ocean they do not let you use the fresh water out of the campground,
So I'm new to your channel and I'm also new to slucing for gold at the beach and panning gold. I was wondering do you just run the top layer of sand and or how deep do you dig before running the sand. I could really use a few pointers. Thank you
Hello Jason So I was green as grass when we got to the beach and everyone has there own way of going about it. My best advice is to get away from where every one is digging if you are digging down more that a foot or two before you hit blond sand you might be digging someone else tallings just search around and keep testing to find the best gold. Thanks for watching.
@@alanrobertson2510 thanks for the advice ill put it to good use when I am able to go down to the ocean in a few weeks
4- 5 gallon buckets are a little over 3 cubic ft.. A cubic ft is approximately 1-1/4 5 gallon buckets .33.75 buckets /yd.?
What do the conditions have to be or can you do this there any time of year?
The best time to go is early spring after the winter storms wash away the blonde sand in the summer months you are digging down to find the black sand layer.
how much did you find in the whole trip? about 1 gram each?
We got 3.5 grams total.
287 likes, NO dislikes and noting but positive comments... WAY TO GO ;)!
Thank you. The comments have been great.
Do you need a permit or licence to run your highbanker at the shore?
You just need to print out the gold and fish pamphlet form Washington state on have it with you. Make sure you have enough ink in your printer is 44 pages.
Alan is there a new website for the molds
No same link as on the other video. I am sure you where in the right place there is a new set of molds up for sale now.
A bucket a hour is about right
wow i never knew u could get gold on a beach , ive never seen a beach with black sand , the beaches here in western australia are pure white fine sand . is there a method to knowing where to dig or can ya just dig anywhere ? , why are there so many logs and trees laying all over the place ?
This is one of the few beaches that has gold on it. On this beach you can dig anywhere and find gold. The logs come from the winter storms and that is how the gold ends up on the beach also.
@@alanrobertson2510 nice , i enjoyed watching
I"m assuming the black sand is mainly Magnetite with perhaps a certain amount of Ilmenite.
If there was a good percentage of Ilmenite in that beach you could consider it Titanium ore.
The black sand is about 2/3 magnetic. I have no idea if there is llmenite or not. Thanks for watching.
Black sand is usually volcanic ash deposits. Especially that close to "the ring of fire" plus whatever Mt. St. Helens had spewed in that area in the 1980's.
I'm glad that you found gold but is it enough to be worth while? That black sand is volcanic. Usually particle gold is more associated with deposits of quartz, granite and bed rock as well as black sand.
Hi Jeff It was worth while for me It was something I have wanted to do for a long time. I know people that can get up to 5 or 6 grams a day that would make it worth it. The gold comes out of the Columbia river that cuts right through gold country and then is washed up on the beach. Thanks for watching.
@@alanrobertson2510 It just seemed to me that it was a long way to drive from Montana to Washington State for a bit of dust. I live here in West Virginia where the gold is liquid black or 30,000 feet deep and gaseous. (Marcellus shale gas :) There is a lot of history here dating back beyond the civil war. I am contemplating the purchase of a metal detector but with my spinal problems, I can't walk very far at a time. Maybe it'll get me off my butt. :) I moved here 18 years ago from Florida where black sand is unheard of. When we were having our land leveled here, I had the dozer driver shave an 18 inch high knob off the side of a hill to lessen it's grade. I was walking behind him and there I found a perfect horse shoe. No rust damage or anything. The red clay here kind of keeps the oxygen and, at 18 inches deep, most of the moisture away from such items. I like to watch the Alaska gold shows on TV and the detector hunters here on UA-cam. I had heard that back in the middle 1800's they were finding softball sized nuggets as shallow as 4 feet deep in North Carolina!!! People were selling their land in 4 foot by 4 foot claims and making a killing over the normal value of the land for farming. That "gold rush" didn't last long and some scientists conjecture that in the distant past, a gold laden meteor may have exploded over the area rather than it being a geological deposit. I'd like to get a war surplus mine sweeper and check out that place. They couldn't have found all of it. :) Have a happy, Jeff M.
I hope you get a chance to get out and do some detecting this year.
love seeing the beach gold, almost unable to watch your video, use a tripod for almost every thing, my head is spinning from the constant camera whipping around
What is the ROI on prospecting? Is it better than working a regular job?
Bad! I don't know to many people that make a lot of money digging with a shovel. For most people it is just a hobby and a lot of fun.
For beach miners wanting to do it in 72F waters I would suggest going to the Philippines
Airfare is as low as 500 round trip
With free/cheap rustic primitive accommodations in Sipalay
That warm water would be nice.
Alan Robertson airfares round trip ftom the west coast are around 450$ now
6# tunas cost $3
Locals are still using nearly flat metal bateas
I wonder how much gold u can get there in a day. Need about 3 grams a day to make it pay if u camp out by the beach.
I hope you have a WA. state fish &gold pamphlet with you since it is required to mine. By the way, you're only allowed 2 buckets of cons per day, so guess the 11 buckets were over a 6 day period?
Yes we had 2 copies if the gold and fish pamphlet with us The 11 buckets is what we ran not the cons. Out of four days of digging we only brought back about 3 gallons of cons from the beach total. Thanks for watching.
@@alanrobertson2510 That's cool, I didn't want you mislead people into thinking they could just go out and do what they wanted. We are having enough issues with numerous agencies, trout unlimited, sierra club, the tribes, and so on. They are trying to shut down any kind of motorized pumps, mainly dredging. The tactics they use are misleading. They leave out the fact that we remove garbage, lures. lead, and mercury from the rivers. It also creates spawning habitat for the fish. Thank for your response and keep finding that yellow stuff! Mike H.
@@stlrsmike No problem I am aware of all the issues out there. I think we would be a lot better off if people would at least try and follow the rules as ridicules as some are. I did see a lot of the rules broken mostly by the local people down there it's to bad a few could spoil it for all. Take care.
Thank you Mr. Robertson
for sharing with the rest of us. I would like to ask you small question, the area that you are working is this area open to the public or is it a gold claim that someone own's?
Thank you, Very Respectfully. dd
You are welcome what a blast. We were at Cape Disappointment State park it is totally open to the public for anyone to dig. You just need to have the Washington gold and fish pamphlet with you to be legal. Thanks for watching.
Sounds and looks like a great place to spend the winter!!
@@alanrobertson2510 Thank you Mr. Robertson, I greatly appreciated your kind reply back.
It definitely looked like a blast in the beach sands. I was looking for a place to go and get away from all the snow that we had down here in northern CA. I'll need to refine my sluice box with different matting for the fine beach sand that you were running and I'll head up to Washington to try my luck. Thank you again for sharing with the rest of us. dd
@@halmapes5086 Yes I agree with some modification to my sluice box I'll be heading up to WA to check it out.
@@dewfew1 Have a good time up there. If you don't want to make your own mats try the v ribbed mats or the saw tooth mats they work great. That is what I have in my clean up sluice.
can you still battery sluice at the cape
They have shut it down without getting a permit
