Billy Brake lost to chaos maxx once. Seems legendary to me.
House of Champs , tru but it depends what protection you have. I recommend Forbidden Dress and Forbidden Lance when using Chaos Max. Anti magic arrows and White veil are pretty good too
Wait, nvm. Lol
House of Champs hey I know the feeling I once lost to Blue Eyes Shining dragon. They are kind of similar I guess.
Time Wizard A Blue Eyes Shining Dragon?
Mad props to the Duelist who summoned it...

I think it’s very poetically ironic that Kaiba known for playing Blue Eyes that LIGHT monsters, uses a DARK Blue Eyes and Yugi who typically uses Dark Magician DARK monsters, uses a LIGHT themed card associated with Dark Magician. It’s as if the roles being reversed with Seto’s card embodies all of his inner darkness and Yugi’s his inner hope.
It's like poetry, it rhymes
What's the light themed card for Dark Magician called?

I play Chaos Max in duel links and frequently get wins. People always set 0 defense cards in defense mode not expecting a chaos max for 8000 direct damage. Inconsistsant, eh, you dont base an entire deck around card, thats ignorant. You obviously would have multiple cards, 3 chaos max, 3 blue eyes chaos, 3 chaos magician, 3 chaos max magician, 3 chaos form, 3 chaos gate, then some gaias. boom theres your deck. no matter what you draw itll either fuel a ritual or be a ritual.
but nothing is consistant in 40 card decks except for meta decks that rely on stupidly broken meta cards that function as engines to summon your entire deck.
@@Kugrox maybe in silver because after that nobody sets monsters in turn 1
As some one who has played Blue Eyes Chaos Max for pretty much every single of my local tournaments, I can agree that it is highly inconsistent. But, honestly, I worked so hard to make a Blue Eyes deck for YEARS, so I realize the this deck's weaknesses, and I'm fine with it. No, you will not stop me from playing the deck. But I can agree to some of what you said.
I can't use 1 normal blue eyes as the tributed monster on chaos form to special summon chaos MAX, right? Or do I need two monsters that add to level 8?
Anamorphic engine is the best to run in blue eyes
You sound like you dont win alot in actual tournaments
@unbeatable750 does that really matter as long as they enjoy playing the game and the deck they made?
Paul Lam not anymore. It’s really consistent with the new support. Like impcantation monsters and the bingo machine.

Me and my friends have a weird, sentimental connection to Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon. He's like the family pet to us. We just call him Max, he's a good boy.
I used to play a lot of Magic: The Gathering, and one of the lead designers of that game is a guy named Mark Rosewater. He helped create what's called the Psychographic profiles of what they think of the three types of players of Magic, Timmy, Johnny and Spike. Johnny is the Combo Player, Spike is the Hyper-competitive glory player, and Timmy is the power player.
Chaos MAX Dragon is 100% a Timmy card. Timmy players love big, smashy cards that do fucktons of damage, or just have huge effects, regardless of how incredibly difficult it is to pull off said effects (the archetypal Timmy card, and the one that made Mark make up the name, is Verdant Force, which is an 8 drop 7/7 that makes 1/1 tokens at the beginning of your turn). While the name sounds demeaning, it was actually made in adamant defense of cards like MAX Dragon, and how there totally should be people who love these cards.
Basically, what I'm saying is, while this card is probably not that great, there's totally precedent in other games for cards of its kind, and there's also a reason why there's a subset of people who will always defend it.
There’s a term for that, it’s called a jank deck. Of course everyone has a jank deck, but the problem here is that people are saying Chaos Max is competitive.
My problem with the YGO community is how it’s full of people that just doesn’t know what they’re saying, compared to Magic casuals where they actually do recognize themselves as a casual and don’t waste hours on the internet saying weak strategies are competitive.
I’m definitely a timmy player
As someone who doesn't play the game anymore, most people playing Chaos MAX are probably doing it because it's a big ass monster that's fun to summon. Yes, it may not be the best card of ever, but who cares if someone runs a card that isn't the best thing ever. Back when I played I would put things like Blue Eyes Shing Dragon and Black Skull Dragon in my decks, fulling knowing those weren't even good cards. I wasn't going to spend the money to get any of the super great cards anyways, so it only made sense to use cards I enjoyed using.
Chaos Max is does double piercing damage and can't be destroyed nor targeted by your opponents card effects. So it is a pretty solid card once you've gotten it out, of course you shouldn't rely on this card to win every duel, relying on 1 card is a noob way to win, either way. The Double Piercing damage is great for OTKs, you can combo it with Curse of Anubis before activating the ritual card to one shot an opponent (4000 atk points gives double piercing to a 0 Def monster, it'll do 8000 damage).
That's a good point, as far big beat sticks go, Chaos MAX far from being the worst available option out there. Both the monsters I mentioned running are nowhere near as viable Chaos MAX can be. And what weakness Chaos MAX has, at least I think, can be worked around with enough setup.
Same. Why is it so hard for people to just enjoy things these days?
I think, that everyone has different definitions of fun, and a lot of those definitions just aren't very compatible when stuck in the same space.

fun>consitency
says the casual player
Paul Nelson what’s wrong with playing a game casually.
Unless your playing competitively. But in causal play that’s totally legit. (I play casually with competitive strats so I’m in a weird spot)
Exactly
I mean, competitive players still try to have fun, just a different kind of fun. Like, beating your opponent kind of fun. At least I hope so, why would anyone continue to play if they’re not having fun?
As a blue eyes player I agree with the video... but that doesn't mean I haven't given chaos max a fair chance.
I have thoroughly experimented with the deck over the time it's been popular, and have tried many iterations.
As soon as chaos max released in the movie packs I tried it with my friends at a locals for a few weeks. It won me a few games, but it was EXTREMELY inconsistent. I decided at the time that it wasn't very good to play in the deck, as it slowed me down considerably.
However when Link Vrains came out I was forced to change my outlook on the deck.
Since blue eyes couldn't really afford using monsters to make a decode talker early game back when there were barely any link monsters available, Chaos max turbo actually wasn't that bad because it didn't rely on the extra deck.
I did end up winning a locals with it when Zoo was still around, but in this day in age with Spyrals and more and more link monsters... the deck does NOT hold up in the slightest.
I decided to make a compromise with myself, as chaos max does shut specific decks down.
I side deck one chaos max, a chaos form, and an advanced ritual art. No manju or anything like that. Running two ritual spells means I'll most likely draw it in my starting hand, and chaos max is so searchable that I don't really need more than one.
For now, though, I'm sticking with plain old blue eyes. That new kaiba legendary collections has 5 brand new cards in it, hopefully it has some new blue-eyes support that helps chaos max become a option!
Daddy_Dorf what is this? Clearly articulated opinions in a yugioh comment section?
Orga777 A link monster for blue eyes, alike invoked, would really need to be some sort of Link-1 monster. Blue eyes is full of "one for one" cards where you don't plus off of them... so I personally would only be willing to use a single monster for a link summon in the deck, unless that new melody of awakening dragon retrain gives immediate advantage.
Like summon two "blue-eyes" from the deck haha
ImNotJoshPotter I try my best! Haha
Orga777 Interesting thoughts. I hadn't taken the smaller monsters into account as materials... technically if you use white stone of ancients as material and another monster, it would be a one for one if you summon a link-2... as it would summon another monster during the end phase.
I think needlefiber is a good link-2 for the deck in that mindset, though... who knows? Maybe needlefiber will turn blue eyes into a synchro spam deck! Haha
Orga777 Based on what I see on Italian Yugioh's page, the OCG Premium pack 20 may contain Dark Magician, Blue eyes, or Hero Link monsters. One can pray!
Obviously it's because Davinator1212 didn't call it one of the top 5 Ritual monsters 😏
Obviously
I couldn't have imagined how many zodiac duelist references and shit were in yugitubers vids until I joined the group lmao
When he made the video it wasn't out in the tcg
For competitive play it’s not good because because it causes consistency issues and the deck can’t combat backrow etc also kaijus exist
But for a casual tourney like a locals, Chaos max turbo is pretty good
However Dzeeff what you have to remember is that nobody competitively plays Chaos Max, however on the casual level (which still has loads of players, if not more then the number of competitive players) Chaos max is a popular deck choice, due to its power, appeal and price
SHURIT, STRATEGIST OF THE NEKROZ you have no idea
Still worse than the regular blue eyes deck, the second I put chaos max in my deck the deck instantly started doing worse than every other build I made for blue eyes.
That doesn't stop busters online from not even play the stuff like Spirit Dragon and the Rank 8s play JUST Chaos MAX turbo.
I went to a locals with ancient gears and beat chaos max on my 2nd turn twice in a row.
Well the consistency issues only come from running three. There are other actual problems with the card worthy of discussing. Some of them can be overcome some aren't. In fact I would go as far to say that neo blue eyes ultimate dragon is a better card cause of its multi attack effect.
I just see Max as another possible win condition in the deck not competitive but it sure is fun lol
Tyler Robinson agreed
Sadly Almost all rogue deck can out chaos max because Utopia existing
Alternative win con should come from the Extra Deck, not the Main Deck. Your Main Deck should be 100% dedicated to your main win con only.
I like chaos max as it's a fun deck to play. That's it.
I lost a lot of games to a friend that has a chaos max deck... i learned to never set monsters.. and he learned to use cyberangels instead
haha yea, just don't do anything at all. worked for me once XD
if you have a versatile deck and know the weaknesses of these annoying decks you can shut them down and make them ragequit. cookie cutter kids are like that. then they will look for another annoying deck they can find somewhere.
Yes I have won locals and regionals maining 3 hand destructions and 3 double summons and no you may not see my prize card
Unfortunately Confirmation bias tends to mean that you only see the games against Chaos Max where they actually played it, and not the ones where it got stuck in their hand. In addition you only remember the games where you trounced the opponent by playing Max first turn and running over their Ghostrick or something, and not the games where you never see a Chaos Form or a Max
Caroline Davis Funny enough ghostrick deals with chaos max real easy when they don't brick
Just because people may not use Chaos Max in competitive play doesn't mean that it's a bad card, because it's not a bad card if you have a strategy to work around Chaos Max.
Dude I completely agree with you. I have been playing Blue-Eyes since the game began in the US and I have tested Chaos MAX as much as I could because I like to find at least some amount of use to the cards in the archetype, with the exception of Priestess with Eyes of Blue, and I always end up liking better and reverting back to normal Blue-Eyes.
I thought that once the game slowed down with links Chaos MAX would be useful, for obvious reasons, but then certain things came out that just weakened the cards potential. Not only is the Chaos MAX version the most inconsistent but also cards like Draw and Lock bird, Ash, Maxx C, DD Crow, etc. it just isn’t as good as it would’ve been. I was playing a friend of mine and every time I used melody he would Ash Blossom it and I would just lose, and I would lose because like you said the cards you usually draw with Chaos MAX version are all situational. Where as normal Blue-Eyes has more plays and can go around those cards better. I also agree with the comparison of boards. You invest too much with Chaos MAX just to usually have a much weaker board than normal Blue-Eyes, this was especially the case pre-link era, and I never understood why anyone would main deck Chaos MAX. Sorry the comment was very long, but still very educational video.
Being a pure Blue-eyes player, I never played Chaos MAX in my deck because of the inconsistency factor.
I like how you compared MAX to a lot of the structure deck boss monsters because it's true.
I have a lot of experience with Blue-Eyes, and with Chaos MAX as I played it for about 3 weeks after it came out, experimenting and playing it in tournaments.
(PRE MR4)
There ended up being 3 ways to build it more or less:
1. Dedicate every possible deck slot to either A. A ritual piece or B. A card that searches a ritual piece.
This turbo'd out Chaos MAX and often multiple of him turn 1 very consistently, but as dzeeff said in the video, as soon as you're into game 2 and 3 you get Kaiju'd and lose instantly, or it gets outed by any of the 1000 ways to get around it. (Kozmojo, Storming or Drowning Mirror Force, True Draco Apocalypse, Beelze, Time Pendulumgraph, etc.)
2. Galaxy build that tries to make Chaos MAX and Cyber Dragon Infinity.
Significantly less consistent, and often you ended up making either or neither.
3. Just trying to incorporate him into a more or less standard Blue-Eyes build.
This had the most success, as he ended up being just a booster to your standard board and if you lost him to something, you didn't instantly lose. Still had less potential than Invoked or Pure Blue-Eyes, but was the best of the options.

I once saw a Blue-Eyes player scoop after I solemn'd a chaos form. Shit was hilarious.
Not only do you stop the ritual summon but you make the ritual monster a virtual (-1) for some random amount of time.
Except you can't solemn Chaos Max lol
I solemn'd the ritual spell and the dude scooped hard.
That's all kinds of wrong. :'D
it cant be striked, but you can warning it
I’ve stuck Chaos max in my Black Luster Soldier deck and can get this out more consistently than a blue-eyes deck. I still lose though...
As a blue-eyes player, I generally agree with most of this video. Chaos Max tends to be really inconsistent and situational, only really serving as fodder for trade in or dragon ravine when you can't pull it off. When it does go off, it goes off big as generally opponents don't really have an answer to it unless they have a kaiju, which is not 100% of the time. However, it can't go off every time which is a big problem. That being said, I still play it at 1 just because situations do arise and if you can pull it off first turn, opponents don't really have a good way to deal with it except kaiju (which is good because then they aren't kaijuing other cards you may want to keep) but usually side it out immediately.

Did you just assume my flashy big king of the skull skervant OTK deck is useless? I assure you it's definitely tier 0. It's for high IQ people like me. I agree that it can be bricky. But thats why you dont run the deck only around MAX. Keep an extra deck to help with comebacks have the revival spells to flood the board with blue eyes from your grave after hes gone.
mike maier Even with that the point is that MAX throws the decks consistency out the window because rituals are inherently bricky especially without the preprep usage. Power isn't everything
You summon 4 Blue eyes. My turn comes, they cant attack on summon, I use black hole type effect. Wanna summon them again?
David Evans I summon Azure Eyes. Your Dark Hole can't destroy my dragons. Problem? Any deck has a possibility to win. Chaos Max is a good card if you have the patience and the prudence to not blow everything out on one turn. You actually have to think before playing. You plan for the payoff instead of playing everything out like no tomorrow like most decks nowadays.
David Evans i retire from play the magic card that negates dragons destruction
You’re putting a card in your deck that needs more cards to help said card win, where as you can be using less card slots in the first place and have space for utility cards.
Even if I have several free card slots in my deck, I’d much rather put in utility cards than putting in extra win cons that needs more work to summon than my actual win con.
TL:DR
too much investment of at least 3 cards with not enough insurance
am I wrong?
Jabberwocky Draco it's the insurance part that kills it tbh
Jabberwocky Draco yeah, it's very inconsistent. It hits like a freight train, but *if* it does it.
For the three cards minimum you pay for a ritual monster, you need to have some consistency, as a ritual is a minimum -3 so you need to "counterweight" that with consistency over power.

Chaos MAX is just meant for 1 thing. Dealing damage. This is a trap for many lower level players: "To win i need to deal 8000 damage, so more damage = better card." It's not a good card, but i think it has it's place in casual play, it's just a funny thing to mess around with for a few duels, before going back to your 'real' deck.
Kylianos3 I use sword of concealing light before I summon max dragon so I can have the field setup first before they can counter
I have not played Yu-Gi-Oh since early 2005. You read that correctly. Early two-thousand-and-five!
When I stopped playing, I was 14 and lost interest. 3 weeks ago, my girlfriend, who had never had any exposure to Yu-Gi-Oh aside from the abridged series, decided to Netflix binge the series. We have just reached the Capsule monsters arc, and I have brought my basket of old cards from the loft out for her, at her request. We have build 6 or 7 decks from them for us to play and for her to learn and are both just getting to grips with all the new rules like Synchro summons ect.
Her favourite character is, obviously, Seto Kaiba. For a small gift for her birthday, I bought her some Kaiba Corp card sleeves, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon and Dragon Master Knight (Only shining dragon was released of these 3 when I stopped playing). She was absolutely over the moon and liked the £12($15) children's trading card gifts more than the festival ticket I got her as her main present.
I'm going to, week-by-week, buy and build her a Blue-Eyes White Dragon deck with ALL the new blue eyes cards possible. Because she wants to use those cards. We're going to steadily get into the modern game, even though we're both pushing 30, because we have had so much fun playing the outdated version together at home. In a month or so, once we've really got to grips with the new game, we're going to go to a local regional tournament once her Blue-Eyes deck is all completed with every Blue-Eyes card that exists. She is going to play with her Blue-Eyes cards, I'll have a go with whatever I can cobble together, and even if neither of us take a single life point from our opponents, we're going to have a brilliant time and leave feeling happy.
Screw using only using the most consistent and tournament friendly cards, we have cherished Yu-Gi-Oh founded memories and fun!
I have a blue eyes felgrand deck I put together and a chaos max deck. I really like playing with both and have quite a bit of fun with both but my blue eyes felgrand deck is arguably more consistent. I will say that chaos max is alright in a blue eyes mirror match because unless you're running something like quaking mirror force or swords of concealing light, it's really hard to deal with
I had a felgrand deck, I ripped it apart to build this one tho. The felgrand was fun, just to slow.
when blue eyes took the championship it bricked multiple times in the final mirror match was pretty ridiculous at that level of skill to see both players dueling for the top spot bricking
Blue eyes chaos max dragon is really strong. When i summon him i always have a combo .i use the card forget it to turn my enemies monsters to defense then attack to win.
I used to love playing MAX in my Blue-Eyes deck, but after a while I grew out of putting it in. I feel like the deck is more consistent without it, and that pushing multiple BEWDs or BEAWDs is a better strategy for me.
I only play this card in a deck that is build to summon this card in combination with Bishbaalkin to otk my opponent in 1 turn, other than that I prefer regular Blue-Eyes with Amorphage Goliath, Arkbrave Dragon and Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand teched in. When you go first and mill Goliath and Arkbrave with Dark Matter Dragon you win the game 9/10 times, much better than Chaos MAX.
After having seen this video, I couldn't help but birst out laughing when Kaiba summoned it in the new movie, claiming that he has the ultimate card to defeat the pharaoh. Good stuff, Dzeeff.
I've won alot of games playing Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon

Such a great Boss-Monster. I'm playing casual Yu-Gi-Oh and i always liked Decks with badass Boss-Monsters. But at the end of the day they even suck against the mediocre decks with good combos, that gain card-advantage easily.
Dzeeff: Chaos Max is too inconsistent
(5 years pass)
Commentors: What do you mean??? There's lots of support that gets Chaos Maxx out consistently, such as (insert card that didn't exist 5 years ago). Idiot.
I was planning to use Odd-eyes Advent in a Metalfoes deck. Which would let me also use Advanced ritual Arts. Also, there is a very cool light dragon that is a ritual monster. So Odd-eyes advent can be used with it. That light dragon can also be used to stop all sorts of thing, Odd-eyes advent can be brought to your hand using Sky Iris, Odd-eyes advent can also be used to ritual summon dragons out of the GY, and it does not need exact stars when used.
Six months from now chaos max turbo becomes tier 1 and this video turns into brilliant fusion over double summon.
"You can Ritual Summon this card..."
There are at least 3 ways of summoning this thing with claws where its weewee should be.
Why play Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon if I can play Amorphactor Pain, the Imagination Dracoverlord?
The problems with that are:
1) Amorphactor has no inherent protection against card effects
2) Its effect doesn't hurt Links AT ALL
3) A 3000 ATK monster takes it down in battle even if said monster came from the Extra Deck
Why play them when you can play actual good cards?
since i am watching this 2 years later i can say, there are some cards that can dispose easily of chaos max.
I play my chaos max deck only for fun, if i want to win locals or something i like playing my burning abyss deck or something like that.
I’d argue that impcantations make this deck both very powerful and consistent. Barring utopia the lightning, kaijus, and skill drain, it’s a pretty hard card to get over too. In terms of ritual decks in general, I think they got a huge power boost in 2018 and it’s only getting g better with additional impcantation support on the way
As a blue eyes player don’t invest to much into chaos maxx. The extra deck is what you wanna focus on. If your gonna run max use it as a finisher. Especially with all of the good xyz and link cards that are compatible with blueeyes!
Playing ritual monsters without building your deck around them is a generally bad idea as you're making your build a lot more inconsistent
chaos max should've been an extra deck monster.
Respectfully disagree. I find chaos max one of the faster boss monsters to get out until you can get to the extra deck.

And also that card can attack your opponent directly or some shit.
*Impcantations have joined the chat*
Came in wondering why nobody plays it, came in understanding consistentsy and Kaijus
Don’t get me wrong. I love Chaos Max Dragon. But I see your point about a lot of things. I like Chaos Max before Kaiju’s because there was literally no way around. I played against a friend who topped multiple times with BA and he could never get around it, but I never played at a regional because I know it’s a glass cannon. If they get around it, I only have 2 cards in my hand and I lose. Point blank. Chaos Max is not a bad card. But it’s definitely not a Master Peace or a Apoqliphort Towers.
Look, I don't want to be mean, but Chaos Max came out an entire year after Kaijus did...
Basically your arguments for this card can be said for almost any other ritual monster. Yeah it has some drawbacks but it's not the worst card I have seen.
Rituals are bad, though. There was one ritual deck (Nekroz) that tried to fix the consistency issues with ritual summoning, because the mechanic itself is inherently minus. You need to have, at minimum, 3 cards to do a ritual summon: the spell, the tributes and the monster itself. The other summoning mechanics requires 2 monsters or even fewer, which are not inherently dead on your hand because many of them can be at the very least normal summoned for their effects, as well as special summoned by means other than rituals. So basically you have one monster in your hand which is absolutely useless unless you have the specific ritual for that monster, and then it is still useless unless you can provide tributes for it.
Nekroz went all out to fix those things: they made the monsters not useless in your hand by making them handtraps, and in case the ritual monster was not a handtrap it could search out ritual spells/monsters, and the ritual spells themselves could perform the ritual by banishing from the grave, sending from the extra deck, and summoning from the grave, as well as allowing you to search more monsters in the event that you had none left on the field. And also the monsters themselves had amazingly good effects, copied straight from the very best synchro monsters ever printed.
That was the one deck that made rituals really good, but as you probably already know, Nekroz got nerfed to the ground because they were just too consistent. Unless they reinvent the mechanic, such as how it was done with the ABC's fusion method, unfortunately rituals will have a very hard time being relevant again.
The new vendread ritual monster with that Shock Master effect seems dope tho
Except the pre preps one, that's only for decks with many different monsters and just one spell card to summon them.
Simpleton Apollo That’s cause rituals in general are bad. Nekroz is good but that’s basically it. Most of them are too slow and inconsistent. But a lot of the arguments he made were basically “Half of what makes rituals ok doesn’t apply to it, thus it’s worse than most other rituals.”
Mr.Zark Gishki handled rituals fine too they were on the ban/limited list for quite a while
Lucille Francois I think you mean he said you can't use Pre-Preperation of Rights with Chaos Maxx. Which is true and is a big hindrance because that card is insanely crucial to making ritual based decks consistent.
One time I was playing Metalfoes VS blue eyes, they got Chaos MAX out with their double piercing and then had a monster facedown for some reason so I double pierced for game with Orichalc 😂
In 2022 we can just send stone of legends to the grave and at the end of the turn you summon blue eyes abyss dragon and it searches both chaos form and blue eyes chaos max. Abyss dragon makes this a lot more consistent.
So....who really cares. People who play Chaos Max more than likely know it's not the best card ever. A good duelist should already know every weakness his/her deck has, but plays it because they enjoy it. If you can't have fun playing the game, then it's not a game any longer.
Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself.
Have a great day everybody, best wishes, happy holidays ;)
Jerry Glenn II thing is, no good player plays Chaos MAX. The bad players always think they’re the best, and don’t care to look at there deck to see the inconsistencies
Also most of the people who play it plays it because they think it’s good, not because it’s fun
everytime my hand brickwalls, i wish we had a mulligan in ygo, but then i remember why we dont have and its for the better
"Nobody" is simply poor click baity word choice. Many people play it, and it isn't really a bad card. It just trades some consistency for extra power options (which I think you basically say more or less). This causes it to be less appealing to competitive players who value consistency more than sheer power. It would of been nice if pre-prep worked with it though. I love my shino bird deck and seeing pre-prep always makes me feel really good about the outcome of the duel.
Valkyrie Regalia its a general short term to describe what hw means. Obviously people play EVERY CARD but "nobody" obviously means meta. He even says that other titles were too long lol. You're nitpicking bud
Well saying "nobody relevant" would be just rude
I'm one of those "nobodies" that play it actually. But yes, while the word is in bad taste, we know the context isn't the pure semantics of it, so I think it's profitable to be charitable and give him the benefit of the doubt.
Valkyrie Regalia The first line in this comment should be moved to a fortnite video. He explained why he made the title the way it was, but I’m guessing you didn’t watch the video
a good counter to the having nothing good in your hand part, is goddess of sweet revenge, and gold sarcophagus can search for either the spell or monster. However, I found that this video lacked pointing out the BIGGEST downside of chaos max. What if the ritual spell is negated.
Goddest of sweet revenge is a even worse card then chaos max and gold saro is too slow
Vanities fiend can't be kaijud
Dylan McShane Dark bribe
Chain!!! Dark Bribe
Aaron Baker I activate Pot of Greed.
This allows me to draw 2 more cards.
Aaron Baker no one will ever play dark bribe there's no way people will give recourses to their opponent.
There is such a thing as stupid people
8 out of 10 times i have a backup plan if ash blossom is pulled on me, chaos form doesn't require a blue-eyes card; from hand or field it just needs to be a lvl 8. Regardless of the fact that your opponent ash blossoms your Melody or Trade-In, you still discard a card because it's a cost for activating, which will in any way help you in the long-run, especially since 9 out of 10 times the discarded card is either a tuner that gets an effect upon being sent to the graveyard (stone of legends, stone of ancients), or a monster card that's worth more in the graveyard than in the hand, and it's highly probable that you'll have Dragon Lords or Silver's Cry in your hand anyway. Chaos Max getting Kaiju-ed is almost never the worst thing in the world to me cuz I'm always bound to have a stone of ancients in the graveyard that I can just get it back into my hand with; in addition most of the time I have another card on my field. You don't have to invest that much of your hand or deck into summoning Chaos Max; with Advanced Ritual Art all that's expended is that card and a blue-eyes in the deck, and with Chaos Form all that's needed is a lvl 8 either in the hand or on the field, and most of the time that monster's better in the graveyard anyway. Most of the time if you have to use your normal summon on Manju you can just Sage him away to get a blue-eyes or dragon spirit on the field. Really the most cards one should have in their deck for the ritual build is like 8; everything else is just typical blue-eyes support. It literally just makes your deck go from 40 cards to 45 cards, and you're heavily overemphasizing how inconsistent the ritual build is. Regardless if you do get two in your hand, which really shouldn't happen anyway cuz two is the most Chaos Maxes you should ever run, it's still a Blue-eyes lvl 8 that can still be used as a discard if it's dead in your hand, and if you need it again just Stone of Ancients it back into your hand. Sure, all it does is protect itself, but taking into account it's atk points as well as all the blue-eyes support you can run for the deck, you really don't need it to have an effect; in fact, the board that i mostly find myself having upon my opening move is Chaos Max out with Alternative for support, and if i can get a Dragon Lords in the graveyard, great. Every Chaos Max deck is different, and some have better support than others
I still think curse of Anubis + chaos max is the most satisfying otk in yugioh
if you want to meme it up, you can use Odd-Eyes Advent as your ritual spell, allowing you to summon the Chaos Max from the grave, letting it be used as a discard cost or allowing you to use Foolish Burial or Dragon Ravine as a "search". You can run Supreme King Odd-Eyes and Odd-Eyes Dissolver as your main deck tributes (both can be searched by Sky Iris [which can also search Advent], or used as discards for Trade-In or Allure of Darkness). Sure, this deck would do literally nothing but summon Chaos Max, but... it can summon it, I guess.
really fun card, but would make the chaos max build more bricky because you cant use it with Allure, Trade-in, or Melody
really an odd-eyes advent deck is really probably better off using and focusing on Gravity Dragon though
nothing is wrong with chaos max dragon, however EVERYTHING is wrong with hand traps and kaijewing.
No everything would very wrong with no hans trap and kaiju they literally saventhe game form 'who ever goes first win'.
how do you put a creature removal together with a magical removal and find that fair? this is extremely broken, hands traps are ridiculous, broke the game, already had traps that were quite fair, why should I put creatures on a deck? if half the deck goes traps that win the game, The game is only traps, cards that use hand effect, serious? if honest was already broken, hand traps are completely unfair, one of the things I hate in this game, if not banned it had to be limited
I like how the premise of this video is Dzeeff explaining why Chaos Max saw almost zero competitive play, and everyone is like "Manju and Impcantations make it far more consistent than you're hypothesizing moron" or "I usually in on like the 2nd turn with Chaos Max", as if that's gonna make him go "Oh! That's right! Ok, yeah, then it DID see a lot of competitive play. I was wrong"
My favorite part about those comments is that the Impcantations weren't even out when this video was made lol
@@Dzeeff Yeah, that's also pretty freaking funny. How soon til people start asking why you didn't consider Drytrons?
@@NickersonGeneral because there are recent videos of people topping events with Drytrons Chaos Max, there are some videos in the channel.
@@SingaporeLoveItachi A. that doesn't change the fact that when Dzeeff made this video, that wasn't true.
B. Just because Chaos Max found some experimentation in some tournaments doesn't negate the point dzeeff is making (i.e., the card isn't anywhere near "broken" like most casual players think it is, at best it'll see fringe play once the stars align and the format is especially vulnerable to it).
It's hilarious to see them just hating on chaos maxes existence
He just tell people why thay card it bad tho
I really love the artwork for chaos max and its a shame that chaos ritual doesn't list it but you're right...its bad...not gonna stop me from making filthy casual decks though ❤ on another note that old school blue eyes art hit my nostalgia like a truck
at the end of the day the question remains...is the card fun to use? Yes? Then keep playig it. This is a game remember...remember when games were about having fun and not beeing the best? I do. And know dzeeff din't mean stop playing it. Just play what you like and have fun.
As an Invoked Brilliant-Eyes Spellbook Dragon player, I can say for a fact Chaos MAX is very inconsistent. If you're allocating deck space to 3 Manju, 2 Chaos MAX, 2 Advanced Ritual Art and 2 Chaos Form, just replace it with 2 Blue Boy, 1 Spellbook of Secrets, 1 Spellbook of Knowledge, 2 Terraforming, 1 Alister the Invoker, 1 Magical Meltdown and 1 Invocation. Not only can you drop an inconsistent boss monster from your deck, you have more draw power and deck thinning, to get to Arkbrave/ Golaith combo (the best board for Blue-Eyes) but you can also get an Invoked Mechaba or if you're feeling frisky, use the Invocation on the Dead draw Garnet in your hand to go into Seraphinite. OR if you're feeling REALLY frisky, Invocation into Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon or First of the Dragons with Blue-Eyes in your hand. Seriously, 9 cards can change your consistency greatly. Hell, you can use the other Blue Boy as Melody discard fodder. There are always options.
EDIT: With Magical Meltdown on the Field, Alister in hand, and Seraphinite on the field with Brilliant Fusion, if you decide to run 1 Blue Boy and 2 Spellbook of Secrets, you can pitch one after the Spellbook combo has been used to give Seraphinite her original attack, and run over a monster with her, using the 1000 ATK boost of Alister. Magical Meltdown also insures you get the Seraphinite on the board.
Neo Blue-Eyes is we’re it’s at
I haven't played yugioh in years and I never knew the rules. I just like to hear you talk and see the card art. You present well
Nah fam. It's the most powerful card in the game. Because of its badass artwork
Honestly, one end phase with Blue-eyes abyss dragon is all you need. It'll give you the chaos form when special summoned and Chaos MAX in the end phase.
Why Nobody* Plays Chaos Max
*Nobody who plays competitive meta Yu-Gi-Oh
There's more to the game than the metagame
You sound like you really suck at the game
Except the metagame is where you get like, 95% of good advice relating to stuff like deck building, how to play the deck, etc.
Lulz
I do like its unique effect though. Double piercing damage sounds pretty good and may be why it "doesn't do enough" like what you said because it could be really op and would probably be banned from the game if it did double piercing damage while not being targetable by or destroyed by card effects and also being able to destroy some of your opponents cards. I get what you were saying but that is what I think about it. I think if it would only do regular piercing damage then add the card destroy effect the it could be a lot better.
"This card doesn't do enough"
U sure bout that? I won on my 5th turn with chaos max
It took you that long?
Nine Tails hmmm ur right, it should’ve been my 1st turn
Who cares about winning? If i manage to summon a flashy cool looking dragon and win, im gonna have fun and feel good about it. And even if i lose, come one, just enjoy the dmg that mf deals. I may be casual but i dont really care thaaat much. Cool looking dragon, dont care too much about winning. Like when u lava golem a very big monster. Feels good and thats what matters for me. Good vid tho, have a nice day to u all.
you miss the whole point of duel you wouldn't have lasted in the early years of dueling
Brah.....
He's been playing since 2003 lol
@@phantomnite point proven
Someone I play Yu-Gi-Oh! with regularly always insists on playing a blue eyes deck because “Blue-Eyes are the best”. For fun I like to play Six Samurai and Nordic decks. He only includes Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX dragon because it can match Odin, Father of the Æsir’s 4000 ATK points. My Six Samurais annihilate his decks.
Kaiju? Just summon supreme king servant dark rebellion and go for 6500 damage :v
Maybe you want to save your Lightning or just not run It at all since Supreme King Dark Rebellion does the job?
Well some people don't play D/D/Ds or Pendulum Magicians, so SK Dark Rebellion isn't always viable.
Luis Morteo Or ya know crystal wing hell ive seen lunalights run over him before
I honestly just started going back to YuGiOh, after watching the recent movie dimensions. That's the only reason why I play chaos max in the first place, since I've been a fan of blue eyes white dragon ever since yugioh just started.
