I was just approved for membership through my dad. Applied the same day and was approved for the American Express cash rewards card plus with a 15k limit! They pulled my Experian report and it knocked my dang score down 7 points but I’m good with the card🎉
Had a horrific hacking situation with the bank but may apply next year. I am gardening. Can you get more than 1 card per pull like PenFed? How many cards can you have?
I have a few accounts with them and my car and home insurance with them. I have the lowly Cash Rewards Visa with only 1.5% cash back, but with a $22k limit. It was fine back when I got it many years ago, but now I have much better cards from AmEx and Chase with higher returns. Do they ever allow card upgrades?
I did for 18 years straight until I saw your videos on Navy Federal and switched everything over there. Also did what you said about opening a pledge loan and the nrewards card so thanks for the info and keep up the great videos.
Got a 7k no pull credit line increase via the app after 91 days to get me close to 20k. So in 91 more days the plan is to get that 25k so that next year I go for the Flagship
Really great video!! Personally I would swap your 1st and 2nd choice and put the USAA rewards AMEX in the 1st place. That’s because the numbers I did the math for the USAA rewards AMEX had more back vs the other. But over really close so I guess it depends on your living style.
It's just a collusion between banks and credit reporting agencies to screw over people. Why the hell else would you be penalized for trying to get a line of credit and or a credit line/ limit increase.
I have the USAA Unlimited rewards card and utilized the balance transfer benefit I’d flip your number 1 and 2 because really the only people who’d be making purchases on bases are active duty members. So if we think long term not many veterans will be will be going onto bases once they EAS. It’s also better to get 2 and 3X points rather than just mostly 1% and 2% Remember 1X is even worth more than 1%
I AM EX MIIITARY. I HAVE 3 PENFED, 2 NFCU AND 2 USAA CREDIT CARDS. ALL 3 CREDIT UNIONS ARE GREAT. THEY ALL HAVE PROS AND CONS. USAA DOES A HARD PULL IF YOU REQUEST A CLI. I ALSO BANK WITH USAA AND NFCU, I HAVE MY CAR INSURANCE WITH USAA, CHEAPEST INSURANCE OUT THERE. MY CAR LOAN IS WITH NFCU.
I mean all this sounds nice but in practice is where it really counts honestly. I had Navy and had someone commit almost $50K in fraud I provided documents etc. and they still denied me and expected me to pay.
I actually have this card since 2022. And the only reason why I got it is because CiTi didn’t approve me for the Custom Credit which I was gonna use for gas so I got this instead. I have a 8,000 CL now.
My dad was in the Air Force so I got to become a member from him. And I actually was able to get my husband a membership with them. I'm not sure if that is a loophole or if that as long as you are a current member you can extend your membership to your child or spouse. Idk 🤷🏾♀️
My father served and as his daughter i was allowed to have full banking. I have a credit card, savings, bank account and car insurance through them. I absolutely love this bank
I been bank with USAA and navy federal since 2014. I been having my eye on a new card from USAA for awhile and this video definitely helped me in my search
@@xuexxiongI had the same issue, the way to prevent this is not to pay at the pump. Get off walk in and pay at the register, this is what worked for me. Hope this helps you too.
I used to bank with USAA i'm active duty but they didnt let me do much of anything because I was under 21, I also had stopped banking with them and went back to navy federal because of them taking my money constantly for no reason at all and then their support wasn't helpful. I got their insurance and got into an accident they didn't even ask for pictures show up anything listen to any stories they just dismissed it.
Unfortunately Navy is also Terrible I was banking with them and someone took out about 50K using my info and basically blew through it all and I made a report and everything and Navy still wanted me to pay for it knowing full well it wasn't me because the person had the nerve to call using their own phone # so Navy has their voice & # but they still want me to pay.
I AGREE WITH YOUR RATING. I DO HAVE THE 5% CASH BACK AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD WHICH I USED STRICTLY FOR GAS. I ALSO HAVE THE PREFERRED CASH REWARDS 1.5% CAH BACH
It means that after you've had the rental car for 31 days you will need to purchase additional rental car insurance because USAA will no longer offer coverage. But to be honest, that is a courtesy and more than generous. I didn't know they offered that! It's a pretty good deal, because who has a rental car for more than 31 days?
I have accounts with both. Navy Fed is better with banking, credit cards and business. USAA is probably the best insurer. But I will get one of the 2 high end cards because USAA like Navy serve international clients so unlike regular credit unions you have outstanding customer service 24/7.
A credit card is only to be used for: - Hotel Rental. - Car Rental. - Airline tickets. - Bail money. And Nothing else!!!!!! EVER....! If you use it. Make sure you have the money in the Bank to pay it off immediately when the bill posts....!!!
Got approved for the USAA American Express (second to first one) Been with USAA for over 25 years Any recommendations for a companion card to go with from the list Good video
I'm seeing a lot of variable (high) interest rate credit cards. This is a clinic on how to stay poor and enslaved to a financial institution . . . USAA or otherwise.
Ahhhh 😂 USAA the bank you go to when you don’t know any better 🤣 literally saved on every service after 19 years of thinking, they had soldiers best interest at heart, BOY was I wrong, Now they are even in NFL commercials 😂 when you don’t know you just don’t know
It went from superior to crap....please don't bank there. I can't believe how bad it is after 30 plus years. It used to be one of the best. Go to Ally...anything but them. Interest rates alone are terrible. No advantage to being in the military. This place blows!!
Pretty f-ed up that a bank that caters to the Military offers a $95 annual fee travel credit card when AMEX and Chase fees are free to active duty. In addition, the Navy Federal Flagship card provides more travel options, benefits, lower interest rate and protection for only a $49 annual fee. No thank you USAA. Nice try.

Yup. Just got approved for 25k auto loan and usaa rewards cards.
This video was very informative and helped me feel that I made a solid decision on selecting the USAA amex

You can use the 5 percent for gas stations only for 3k a year. Thats not bad for a gas only card

I got a USAA membership through my Grandpa. Their policy is you can pass on a membership from parent to child, or spouse to spouse.

The main thing I don’t like about my USAA American Express card is that it has a $175 hold every time I get gas. And it last like 3 days.

You can use gas outside the military base right
Does navy exchange website count as “on military base”…?
Does anyone have any info on a USAA ATM card? I got one and am living in Mexico but it doesn’t work on ANY ATM. Everything checks out fine.

Does the Usaa rate advantage platinum covers purchases on the 0 Apr promotion or just the balance transfers?
