    Great video! I’m also in the reserves and just got the Venture X 2 weeks before mobilizing then called and asked for SCRA benefits and within a week my fee was reimbursed back to me. I’m very excited to have a 2x catch-all visa that I can use overseas. I’m debating between the Hilton Aspire or the Savor One for my next card.
    I know that’s an odd comparison but Savor One has an easy bonus that I can hit and turn into C1 miles. And the Hilton Aspire would also be amazing. I already have AMEX Platinum and Delta Platinum. I’ve held the Delta platinum for 5 years ( most of which were not active duty times, but I apply for it on my last deployment.) and I have never paid the annual fee. 🎉

    capital one will "NOT" waive annual fees for cards that are acquired "DURING" active duty even with MLA. They will only waive it if it was acquired "PRIOR" as per SCRA. Please make sure everyone knows this. I just called them to get my Venture card annual fee waived but was denied.

    I am in the admission process on joining the US Coast Guard & heavily leaning towards the Capitol One Venture X since I have been a member around the mid-2010's. Unsure of the annual fee of the Venture X is going to be waived before or after joining.

      It will be waived if you get the card before going onto active duty. I just got it 2 weeks before a deployment and then called and they waived it right away.

    Active duty navy- I have the Capital One Venture X, I applied for SCRA benefits and was denied, I called and brought up the MLA and was verbally told they will not waive the annual fee. I'll keep pushing, but this is very disappointing from capital one, as no other credit card issuer has given me any trouble with annual fees.

      C1 is know to only waive fees if you apply for the card BEFORE you are on active duty. It is a great card though, but if you are already on active duty then I would go for Chase, AMEX, and US Bank as they will all waive fees for you.
      I for the Venture X 2 weeks before my next active duty time and got the fee waived. So I know it works that way.

    I don't think the gas station needs to be on the military base to qualify for the 5% back. Scratch that, I just checked and yes the gas station doesn't need to be on base.

    Does capital one waived fees for military?

      Yes, SCRA/MLA benefits apply to all credit cards meaning if you are active duty you will not pay an annual fee and have a capped interest rate for the duration of active duty.

      @realprofessoroak no annual fee for a single card or no limits?

    • @jmbwashi
      @jmbwashi 4 місяці тому

      They will only waive via SCRA not MLA so you have to get the card before your active duty time. But if you do then it will be waived and have a 4% interest rate.

      @@janmuniz955they only have like 3 cards with annual fees and if the accounts were open before active duty the annual fees will be given back to you and you won’t be charged for a few years. The limits stay the same though.
