Thanks for the demo, I would use a better color scheme but this demonstrates its capabilities very well. That drone is sick! All it needs is a gun mount
I like the “tint” palette myself, but, you’re right, for this video I really should have walked through the other color palette as not everyone likes “tint”. I also should changed the setting that allows it to ignore the “sky” part of the frame.
@CanadianPrepper For shtf situations how would you continue to power these electric thirsty drones? Is solar possible? That’s if we are not hit by an asteroid lol.
@@STRThermal Yea I was very surprised by the level of zoom you were getting on the turkeys from 200 feet up. That would probably be enough to read some of the less faded tags on our cows.
@@STRThermalis this worth getting for hunting at night? I hear with the 1x magnification you cant really distinguish pigs from deer, unless you fly low but that scares them off 😢
@@wcsdiaries You can tell pigs from deer by thermal signature. You can also outfit a spotlight(I have videos showing this) and use the zoom camera(up to 56x) for identification.
I can find a squirrel at 350-400 feet. Or the heat of a raccoon sleeping in a hollow tree. It’s very sensitive. I have not found any bee hives or hornets nests myself but if they are large enough and put off enough heat I would think it’s possible. A quick Google indicates thermal is viable with the wasp nests, you would want to fly pre-dawn when the wasp nest would be most noticeable against the surrounding objects.
Check out this video comparing the specs and some of my reasoning. Ultimately the M30T extra features just wasn’t worth the extra price starting out for my situation. ua-cam.com/video/e1siLzzIgoc/v-deo.htmlsi=dgDlF_X47mfg21is
Im wondering to get this or an ATV. I already have the Spark and the Mini, love em both. But im going alot into hessdalen and i want something recording sheit at night,.
Hello. The thicker the cover, the harder they are to spot. But I can often detect deer with the thermal in dense cover/canopy that I can’t even see with the visible camera. Super dense cover will increase the difficulty. Just depends on the cover. Watch a few more of my videos where I cover slightly different cover scenarios. Also wet or dry doesn’t matter, but overcast or after sunset is best as you need the foliage to be cool so the deer create more contrast.
From a purely thermal camera standpoint, should be about identical as the Mavic 3T, Autel Evo II Dual 640T and Autel Evo Max 4T all use a 640x512 resolution sensor.
Absolutely. Join the LPSARDA(Lost Pet Search and Rescue Drone Association) on Facebook. Most of us use the Mavic 3T. That said some people like the all-weather capability(and other trick features) of the M30T if the budget(at least twice what a Mavic 3T costs) allows. Here's a comparison that will show you some of the differences between the two options, including price. ua-cam.com/video/e1siLzzIgoc/v-deo.htmlsi=L0rnFEnwjnp-Dg6Z
Current price is $5498(worry-free basic combo)….I think you’ll find this is consistent across the board. You’ll pay extra for extra sets of batteries, props, and other accessories.
Ok, I was a little off on the verbiage....Drone Nerds lists it for $5498 for the Care Basic Warranty and $5998 for the Care Plus Warranty. There isn't an official fly-more combo for this model. It comes with one battery. I bought 2 battery sets(3 batteries per set), two extra full sets of props, a controller lanyard, extra sd-cards, and a landing pad. So, it adds up. The initial setup will get you in the air but I think at bare minimum you will want extra batteries.
I personally find the “tint” palette to be the best FOR ME. I think after flying for some time I’m accustomed to it. But some people like the traditional white hot or black hot. Even FLIR says there is no perfect palette for all jobs and it depends on the job and personal preference.
No, this would work to find something in water(like floating) but if something is under water or behind glass we will only see the temperature of the glass/water.
Is there anyway to test if you can see theremal activity in shipping containers with one of these? Would you be able to use this to see if people are in one?
You can’t see the human heat signature directly, thermal can’t see through walls, glass, etc. But if there are enough people in one container, and the environment/weather is cool, you may can detect that the container with the humans(enough humans to warm the container) is warmer than the others.
That zoom is just absolutely nuts! The thermal tech looks like military grade. I'm shocked the government allows normal citizens to buy it. Can't even buy a silencer here in Illinois.

Nice test of the M3T thermal camera!
Thanks Bill!
Great vid, currently researching this drone. Question, what is the very noticeable object at appx 12 o’clock at 00:59?
Good eye. That is a corn feeder on the edge of the field.
Thanks for the test with the camera. Looking at the Mavic 3T as a possible option to get to help spot calves during calving season.
Great usage! I also saw someone on one of the Facebook groups asking about checking ear tags.

My honest question is: can you make cool HD videos with this drone as you can with the "regular" mavic 3 pro?
Watch some of my other stuff. Definitely can! Is it as good as a drone made for that job? No, but you can still do a lot with it.
@strthermal! Great video. Do you think it would be enough to find asian wasp nest? thanks

Would this be a good drone for deer recovery/locating after shot, would you be able to fly it over dense woods and see through the canopy?
Of course, check out my deer recovery videos. Still have a few deer recovery videos yet to be edited too.
What kind of price range would something like your set up be in
About $8000 total, for the drone kit, extra(7 total) batteries, and the spotlight.

Can you switch to atti mode while using the thermal camera?
You can change to allow atti in the settings….once the flight mode is changed to A/N/S, the F position on the slider will be atti mode.

Nope, doesn’t have to be dark at all. But you do want to avoid sunny days generally, since solar loading and reflection can be an issue.

The M3T does not have the laser rangefinder like the M30T. I hardly miss it.
