- Warning: I've been reading the forums, increasingly owners are forgetting to remove the charging handle prior to removing the barrel to which they will damage the charging handle rod and the gas tube. Replacement parts for these aren't easy to find, especially in Canada.

This gun isn't perfect. My biggest beef is the gas system, it has no regulator and the gas tubes are not easily reachable to clean also there are no access to the port from the bore to the gas tubes. I've concern about the ejector green rubber bubble failing, I prefer they replace it with a metal spring. Finally, design a better barrel locking lug that doesn't slip out of position. Otherwise, I love it.

The sight is mepro-m21 made by Meprolight. It's belong to the SK group that also own IWI.

@@gnutzguy like a trij once element is gone garbage mine is dead too was trying to figure out how to remove it have a new one with pic attachment. is it possible just to remove the sight?

@@dp5007 ideally yes, best to disassemble but if you dont want to then you can try using an open end wrench and be careful not to damage the plastic receiver. Good luck.
Yeah I knew it. Back when the X95 released in 2016 for the US I sent IWI a message asking if they would bring in round handguards because the IDF were modernizing and switching to the square ones. Meaning there was tons of them sitting somewhere in Israel. They told me yes, and that they were working on bringing them stateside. Years went by with no news so I asked them again, and this time they said no because the round handguard was not compatible with the US guns. I knew it was bullshit, and now it’s confirmed bullshit because the parts of your round handguard that insert into the body of the rifle look identical to those on my square one exactly like I expected. My factory 13” barrel even has the flats on the sides for that barrel mounted sling attachment point to mount to and not swivel around. That’s something that X95 SBRs need too.
Did I hear you right? They were gonna go one by one and change out the handguard? That doesn't sound economical cos it's not a safety thing so I think they would just replace the whole guns with square handguard instead.
@@gnutzguy They replaced whole guns because the model they standardized on had 15" barrels and all the little improvements they've made over the years.
Man I would pay so much to have the round setup here. I hate how the long rail looks. Give me the classic lines!
Would the front sight disassembly also apply to a fullsize x95? Mine was pretty bent from the factory and have a new assembly being shipped. Can't seem to find any videos on how to remove the x95 front sight.

Great video this will help me a lot once I fined a left hand bolt. So far no luck wonder how often iwi ships them?
best to call the distributor and they should be able to direct you which dealer carries them. not every dealer that sells X95 carry parts. i like the micro bolt so much easier to disassemble compared to my 18.5", see near the end of vid.
Can you do a full disassembly right down to the internal receiver ?

@@gnutzguy So I reached out to the IDF subreddit...its the PTT/pressure pad for Meprolights proprietary switch for the Sting (LAM) or the MOR PRO (red dot sight)
I hope your model is legal you should have gotten a notice if it's not if you didn't you should find out if yours is legal
It's legal for now but knows about tomorrow. They may add it to the banned list.
At 3:06, the sear hammer assembly. Would you be able to compare that with a non restricted x95 sear assembly?

@@gnutzguy thanks, it seems like the trigger pack or sear hammer assembly of the surplus X95 have more parts to it than the civilian X95
Hey Gnutzguy, do you know if the 18.5" Tar-21 barrel/assembly would work in converting one of these surplus X95's to NR?
Good question. I don't know but i think a model change would include the barrel. So I would guess not
@@gnutzguy After closer inspection of your video and my barrel assembly - they're pretty close! I think the only real difference is just under the front optic mounting area where the hole is: on the Tar-21 there are "wings" that hold the rotating sling mounts in place, whereas they're absent on the x95 (it's just the hole). Also, the micro you have has that big round collar underneath the hole that looks like it's attached to the barrel, which I don't believe is on the standard X95's?
