I drove a 2019 SE FWD Tiguan for 2 years and it was excellent! Affordable and roomy and decent on gas and I had no maintenance problems. I agree with Drew & Masons assessment on every point. My main complain was the halogen headlights as the brothers mentioned and VW rectified that with standard LED Headlights. I had the 3rd row and I used it for my sisters 3 little children and it worked as intended. I stuffed my mother-in-law back there once as well. The door pockets are huge and lined with carpet to prevent rattles. I would buy or lease another Tiguan when my 2021 Mazda CX-5 lease is up. No hesitations and no regrets. My Tiguan took me from Oklahoma City to California and back comfortably !
Considering getting a 2024, has it still been good to you? How much mileage have you put on the vehicle?
Great review as always guys!😸
Great review!!
Great review on the Volkswagen Tiguan
Really enjoy watching you guys!!
Thank you!
Love the interior, super clean and modern, also very utilitarian
Also got a 2022 se recently and it's roomy , rides well - the only bad thing is MPG is bad for the city. Standard LED's and the panoramic sunroof too !
I really love this Tiguan but I would pick the R line with black wheels 👍. Good review 👍
Looks smashing.
Your review is nicely done....
Thanks!
i have no regrets getting my own 2022 tiguan! it's such a nice vehicle
Same with my 2019
@@2004cyrus Tiguan Crew!
@@shinevrything you got it!
Tiguan is good imo, for anyone who needs space and a starter car. Its feels "luxury " is not super fast. Its full of features. And it looks nice enough. I am actually trading an audi q3 for an id.4
I agree. I inherited a 2019 with 20,000 miles. It is good. No real complaints.
I just bought my 2022 Tiguan 2 weeks ago. it has been the best suv I have ever had. I had a bmw 2016 3 series and I’ll never go back.
I got mine SEL r line and I love it. Just watched too many videos on reliability. Supposedly Tiguan is one of the least reliable 😩I guess we shall see. I love the car
@@Monika-tv8np how has it been fo far? Any issues? I am planning on getting a se 2022.
I have the Tig (wife’s car) and the RAV4 (company car) in my garage now so I have a great feel of the contrast of the two cars. The Yota is nice, but the Tig feels like a much more refined product. The RAV4 also is frustratingly small inside - there is very little leg room and head room for me as a driver; Much less than my MK7 GTI I owned. The infotainment is ponderous and my “favourite” feature is all the creaks/squeaks and wind noise on the RAV. It’s the best RAV I’ve driven, but it needs more improvement still.
In your opinion, why people are still buying Toyotas and Hondas when VWs are so much better at the same price?
@@eduardoforneck3335 because their reliability sucks. Also, Mazda CX-5 is by far best in this class
@@eduardoforneck3335 Because most people will buy the name plate they are used to, and likely the perception of reliability. Having driven this RAV4, it's definitely a solid car but leaves me cold with it's dynamics, build quality (the centre console shakes, and the speakers and visors rattle after 27k km only), and poor seating position.
Most drivers won't care about the things I do however, so they'll continue to sell like hotcakes. The CX-5 is small but it's the nicest in class, and won't sell as well again because most people just look at these as tools.
@@RugbyBeast12 Reliability is absolutely fine. Our Tig is faultless at 37k km (not a lot obviously) as is my brothers at 107k, but my company RAV4 has even less km (27k) on it and has more rattles than a child's play thing, and the rear washer isn't working... it's all a matter of perspective.
And yes, the CX-5 is easily the greatest as a driving car, but it's also easily the least useful SUV in the class. It needs to grow in it's next generation for more leg or cargo room.
Can u maybe do a 2022 QX60 review? Long time subscriber here!
Yep! We're still waiting for them to start arriving in our area this month
I like the new design!
Me too Ave!
Hi, I am planning to buy a 2022 Tiguan SE with 11k miles on it but I’ve heard a lot of bad comments regarding a delay with acceleration. I am torn , anyone own a 2022 Tiguan? What are your thoughts
Appreciate it
Is this better than the cx5 can’t decide
The 2022 VW Tiguan looks alright, I like the updates for 2022
You are such a positive guy! And yes the updates are so good
@@2004cyrus agreed,Darrion is such a loving person
Good looking car… Volkswagen has good designers they make nice looking cars…🙂 Thank you for the video
It's just a shame that the engine tuners have detuned this from it's original 200hp.
Appears to be a solid vehicle.
It is
I really like this one.
I agree with you T-dawg
agreed
What that gage with a smile means?
Is it better than the cx5
I’ve had both. Both are great in their own ways. I have a 2019 Tiguan SE which I love for the space, and a 2021 CX-5 which is more agile.
Can You Make 2021 Toyota Rav4 Tomorrow
Doubt that
Why are manufacturers getting rid of fog lights???
Cause the LED headlights are bright enough where you don't need them.
@@DisneyMusicVideos not according to IIHS. And many cars still use halogens on the lower trims. Next!
@@Infelsinave way to school them!! Love it!
I don’t think it’s bad! Good RAV4 competitor but the bes in its segment goes to the Mazda CX-5
The Mazda is really great, but it has the same critical problem as the RAV4 - not enough leg room for the driver. I got shin splints after a 30 minute test drive in it.
@@IvanBosnjak89 How tall are you? Nobody i've ever met unless they're 6'3 or more complains about the CX-5 leg room
That’s funny you say that! I traded a 2019 Tiguan SE for a 2021 Mazda CX-5! I have just turned 5000 miles on the Mazda that I leased at the end of June.
@@IvanBosnjak89 how do you not have enough leg room? I’m 6’5”, I leased a 2021 Mazda CX-5 in June. It goes way back. Are you bumping your knees on the plastic below the steering wheel? What’s happening. I want to understand…not that it’s complicated but I drive a Rav-4 also on test drives and then selected the CX-5. Leg room hasn’t even been a 2nd thought for me: I’m sorry you had that issue. I’m glad you didn’t get one.
@@Datthunter that’s exactly what i just left him a comment about; the seats move way back. I bought a new CX-5 in June and haven’t had any leg room issues and I’m 6’5”. Not exactly a shorty here.
I hate hate hate the touch sensitive climate controls. You basically have to LOOK down there to do anything. C'mon carmakers, give us logical knobs/switches that are easy to use, not nice to look at.
Looks Audi-esque
Would still get a CX-5 Turbo over this and the RAV4 anyday
100% agree
Truth
I looked at one of these and decided to pay 5k more and get Volvo XC60 instead
Those are nice! I wanted one. But I bought a Mazda CX-5 loaded up and my budget kept me under $41,000. I hope to have more cash saved to get the Volvo next time in the summer 2024 when I ditch the Mazda.
New Sportage over this any day!!
Oh? You can have it. My Tiguan has been fantastic
no
Disagree with ya. The R line Black is 🔥
So much hard plastic in their cabins that the echo effect is positively cavernous. That and the SAME 184HP GARBAGE "power"train hauling this chunker.
So you would prefer a CR-V with a CVT and less torque?
@@eduardoforneck3335 No, I'd prefer my 2021 RDX with 272hp/280 lb-ft @ 1600 rpm.
Interesting David. Do you own a new Tiguan? I do. Nobody has ever complained about hard plastics and noises. In fact unlike Honda and Toyota and Kia, VW lines the door pockets with carpet, they wrap carpet material around the base the of seatbelt attachment points so that banging against the console doesn’t make noise while driving. I drove an Audi E-Tron recently that was twice the cost of my Tiguan and I observed lots of hard plastic in there too and it was astonishing. Do you drive an Audi E-Tron? You must drive a Bugatti or a Rolls Royce. Find me a vehicle under $41,000 that doesn’t have exposed hard plastics. I just love guys who criticize cars that they probably couldn’t even afford to pay have of that cars price in cash, let alone have the credit to finance it! Bwahahahahahaaaaa - keep driving our 2001 Chevy Cobalt Ralley Sport with plastic wheel covers. The drivetrain is good like the brothers stated: and I’m a car guy who used to haul a family in these Tiguans and it was adequate. It’s not a Tiguan Ralleye sport like your Cobalt.
I agree. The acceleration is very underwhelming to say the least. They really need to ditch this motor. I do like the looks of the exterior though but not enough to suffer the poor engine performance.
@@jakef777 interesting. I’ve owned 2 and never had any complaints on acceleration. Tiguan pours on torque all the way up to like 95 mph-
Lmao VW insane, literally smacks the current gen Jetta front-end on the tiguan and calls it a refreshed 2022 tiguan.
That’s what’s every manufacturer does .. have u seen BMWs, Mercs and Audis recently ?
Lmao that’s not any different than what others like Acura do. They have a corporate design language. Kia used a tiger nosed grill on their cars? Are you an automotive designer? If not, you need to be because it sounds like the auto design world would benefit greatly from your original ideas and innovations that help them stay stylish, profitable, and original.
Buying from a car company that openly
commit frauds and their cars are the epitome of unrealiability.
Lmao stay poor.
Don’t know what you’re talking about. VWs are some of the most reliable cars you can buy. People just don’t do routine maintenance then complain of engine issues. VW wasn’t the only one. Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler also got busted for emissions cheating. Toyota, and Honda are under investigation for the same thing currently.
@@mikeyg751 you are right, I heard that BMW X3 and x5 are on the list of least reliable cars along with Tiguan, the question do those people buy the cheapest fuels and do maintenance when their dashboard is full of red icons? Lol that could be an issue
I had a 19 Rav 4 Adventure and a 19 VW Tiguan SEL R-line....both around 37k sticker....Bottom Line.....the Rav 4 was a much better car...and the resale value is untouchable. The VW lacked options and had absolutely no power....i feel bad anyone trying to drive around with 5 people in the Tiguan. Tiguan also had terrible gas mileage. RAV 4 was getting 26.5 while the Sluggish Tiguan was getting 21ish
Wow what a totally different experience than I had: my 2019 Rav-4 is noisy and makes awful noises when pushed, it’s slower than my 2018 Tiguan. And my Tiguan gets 26-30mpg or more on highway of course, and the Toyota has been a constant disappointment with lots less cargo space. No debate on resale value, Toyota just brings more on reputation and I get that. But my old Camry had transmission issues and my older VW Jetta’s never had those issues. I’m not bashing Toyota. I’d buy another and it will be a Venza in 2 years for the gas mileage since Biden is wrecking our country. And about to close another pipeline which will get us closer to $5/gallon. Along with this wonderful 6% inflation.
If you can scroll down and read the comment from Ivo Bosnjak, he echoed my sentiments even better than I communicated to you, I hear this from a lot of Rav-4 owners. The Tiguan is more refined & quiet etc.
Side profile makes it look like a small Van. Inside it's small of course. Test drove it and I will pass. Also, Blue is really purple, yuk!
