Wonderful POV drive indeed...The car still looks really good at night. I'm also impressed by the sound system the way it cancels the road noise. The engine is not lazy as well by the look of things. Anyway thanks a lot sir for the drive...🙏🙏🙏
Great vid as always. Lovely car but I hate how Kia always down spec the cars for the SA market. It prevented me from buying the Kia Sonet since it only had halogen lights here. Also the Sportage has serious competition from the new Nissan Qasqay imo
I hear you there Johan, Hyundai did the same thing. Mostly cars that come with similar specs are Germans. I think the issue is that now they moved from budget to premium and they know if they price this like X1 we won't see it the same way so they cut spec to bring the price low. That Qashqai is not a joke yoh, it also fights. Was supposed to get it but it had an issue so it could not be delivered, hope to get it on test soon.👌🏾
Hey Mpho, i agreed with the full review. This has to be one of the most solid SUV’s to come out of 2022. I’m kinda disappointed it doesn’t come with navigation, like the Australia version (even though SA only gets the shorter Sportage built in Slovenia, not Korea). I have to agree with you on the pricing as well, it’s really a good price if you putting it against the VW Tiguan, Tucson, etc. But also a little overpriced when competing with the Chinese rivals, eg i was here thinking for over R600k one should at-least get full LED lights, electric tailgate, ambient lighting to name a few. I guess in this sector we are spoilt for choice. Great work bro!
Sizwe, appreciate the presence as usual bro🙂🙏🏽. SA always gets reduced specs in order to manage pricing, especially on imported cars (excluding China ofcourse), I think brands understand the customer base here and our background. People here separate brands just on preference and they will not accept a Kia at R800K easily while in other countries Kia is a solid brand worth what it gives. You nailed it there on price comparison, it will depend on what you compare it with for you to say it's well priced or expensive. China is seriously an outlier on pricing and it's not easy to compare with them as they have an advantage of pricing lower due to low labour costs and economies of scale on manufacturing tech. The interior lighting could have been better indeed, it does not hurt to just put LEDs, they add some premiumness and will not change much in cost really. This sector is beyond competitive bro hence it's hard to accept certain cars without certain features. Thanks a lot bro🙏🏽
My Mann👏🏾👏🏾😺 Look firstly I must say why do manufacturers on the reverse camera system have a delay when you put the car into gear again to switch back to the normal screen?!🙆🏿♂️🤣 I mean surely a software issue can fix that it should change back instantly 😅 Otherwise I love it’s lights and now seems every manufacturer except Toyota 🤣is doing the whole digital console. It really makes a car look the part. It’s the price though from your review that scares me😩
🤣... I always though that it's just for vibes that thing of the camera remaining on for a bit just below 20km/h. Well Toyota is traditional but they will surely jump ship soon, I am even curious what the next Hilux will have on the interior because currently it's still way behind the likes of Ford, even the previous gen. I honestly think it backs up it's price ey. They really put everything well and screwed them tight👌🏾

Demtumza my brother. As always, lovely to share some time.🙂! Beautiful car this is, they did a great job here👌🏾
Not bad at all, but ambient lighting would take it to another level.
Also cheapening out for halogen indicators is not kosher 😅
Ambient lighting is always a winner ey! The indicators should have been embedded in the DRLs, that would have been lovely👌🏾
@Sebuwa Does the GT line have ambient lighting, are the indicators LED on the GT line, are the light matrix or multi beam on the GT line?
