I fish similar, rowboat, no motors allowed. While I completely respect your opinion/preferences, but I do a couple things different. First, I go lighter, 30lb braid backing, then double uni to 5 colors of 15lb Sufix Performance, on an Ambassador 6600. 7' slow action rod. I can get down to almost 50' with all 5 colors well out in the water and a deep diving crankbait. I usually start with a 50' mono leader, and replace it when it gets down to about 30' from retying. And that stupid knot, I hate it, when it's in the water for a while the leader will pull through the overhand knots and out of the hollow lead core, I've had it happen several times on good fish. So now I remove 6" of the lead and tie the leader on with an Alberto knot or Albright, problem solved, I have not had that connection break since, unless I'm hopelessly snagged on bottom.

Curious why the swivel at the end if same type of line on both sides of it? Quicker to replace in the event of a break off? Or is there some action imparted on the lure due to it being there? Appreciate the vid. Tight lines!

I run the swivel there to help prevent line twist from the spoon, or sewn bait. I run it higher on the line to get it further from the bait, only for presentation sake. Doesn’t effect action at all.

I have the 18lb suffix leadcore also. I can’t thread leader into the stealth for the life of me. The leader goes in about 1cm and then just pops out the side of the sheath. Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I end up just tying the sheath to a swivel

I try to straighten my leader before, by running it through my fingers a few times. Seems to help.

Thoughts on 2 mph are you thinking 5 ‘ per a color depth?

Yes. Exactly the ratio I go by and have found in my testing. 5 feet per color at 2mph. Only thing I’ve found and seen with others is when using a long 60-80 ft leader sometimes a light spoon will ride much higher in the water column. Fished with a guy that had 1.5 colors out with a long leader and the spoon was trolling surface
