Yeah I wouldn’t be too stressed out. Best advice I can say at this point is if somehow you do have persistent issues, reach out to Ignik. I can’t imagine they don’t have something in mind for warranty stuff with these.
@ thanks! I actually talked to Ignik. They were super chill & in front of the problem. It’s fixed BUT there some others out there. They said they’d stand behind it.🤞🏻I have a newer one…
@ sorry I was reluctant to reply. It arrived Thursday & filled Friday at Tractor Supply. He bled the air & taped the ground out 1st saying it’s critical for a tank that size. Took 1.1 pounds of LP. Worked like a champ for 3 cooking sessions, on my 17” Blackstone & is 1/2 full still.
@@tomjones1967 yeah I’ve been pleased with the 1 gallon capacity of mine. Works great for most cooking sessions on a long trip with extra to run the firepit a bit as well.
Picked up two nearly new in clearance. Marked down to $30.83. Mgr gave additional 40% off. Then cashier gave additional 20% off. $9.83 for each one!! lol
Sorry to hear that! If the thump on the ground fix doesn’t work, don’t lose hope. Ignik apparently called back old stock of gas growlers from some retailers. I’m betting a voluntary recall for customers is coming soon. Seems like the newer retail stock already has a fix implemented.
@Jaypher not sure unfortunately. We pulled all of ours off the sales floor yesterday. I bet if you reached out to Ignik they would have a way to tell you.
@@NewNewChris I bled mine last night via a griddle for 20 minutes and took it back to Tractor supply today. They tried filling it slowly, still wouldn’t take any gas. Then I banged it on the concrete to try to free the float with no luck trying to refill it again. Ignik also doesn’t want to respond to my email or Instagram tags 🤣.
One of those REI returns is mine. Made 3 attempts to fill the damn thing, including to "the guy who definitely knows how to fill them" 22 miles away. Tried everything, including alerting the filler it might be tricky, and the drop trick. Complete fail. $45 not a great deal for a doorstop... this is a product problem, not a customer problem, and they should fix it immediately or pull it from the market.
They have a fix incoming soon. What will likely happen is they’ll do some kind of recall. That would be my guess based on how many issues they’re having with it.
Sounds like the slow filling method and smacking it on the ground are hit or miss for effectiveness. I’ll make a follow up if I have any issues with mine but so far so good. My guess is ignik is going to hopefully do some kind of voluntary recall soon.
@WheelsAndHelmets I’m not sure to be honest. Those of us on the retail side of the industry will get some kind of info at some point I’ve been told. No eta. I’ll for sure be doing an update whenever that happens though.
I’ve been to four different places trying to get the damn thing filled. Told them to go slow and still no luck. Very unimpressed with Ignik. Seems like even a modicum of QA testing would have revealed this issue
Sorry to hear that. Did you try resetting with the thud method? Still haven’t had any issues with mine. I’d be surprised if there isn’t some kind of a recall soon.
Ignik should be embarrassed. Worst design of all times. They should provide a 100% refund no questions asked. Having to jump through hoops top get a refund. DO NOT buy this unit
Yeah they’re going to have to fix this asap since so many people have had issues. My guess is they put an opd safety device from a full size unit onto the smaller can without thinking of the issues it would cause. This is why I only buy from places with a satisfaction guarantee, no hoops to jump through with returns.
Thanks man! I just ordered one & saw the issue afterwards but am more confident about it now.

@tomjones1967 that’s great to hear. Sounds like future tanks are going to be ok.

HAHAHA that’s an epic deal. 🤣🤣🤣
Wish I seen this an hour ago while Tractor supply tried twice to purge and fill my new tank 😂

@@NewNewChris I just bought one at Bass Pro, any way to tell what model we have?

@@NewNewChris Ignik finally emailed me back today and said it’s known issue they’re working to fix.
Just bought one from REI how do you know if it’s a “Gen 2” or not!

I love REI Re/Supply, you can score some amazing deals
Heck yeah. Just snagged an unused kelty awning there for cheap because the bag ripped.
Hmm helpful info. I thought it was me. I didn't return it though

@NewNewChris I'm not mad at a free fix/ replacement lol. Is there going to be an announcement or do I need to register my tank?

@NewNewChris no problem. I did a Google search and it looks like we can register products on the ignik website
@WheelsAndHelmets probably the best way to go then. I may do the same soon.
