JESUS brought me back to life after I suffered a cardiac arrest that left me with no heart beat for 28 minutes and no oxygen to my brain for about half of that time. The doctors said I wouldn’t make it and if by any chance I did I would be brain dead and confined to a wheelchair. On the 5 th day of life support they pulled the plug and during the time they were doing it my heart beat on its own 🙌🏼☝🏼 and my lungs began to show activity 🙌🏼☝🏼 . The doctors right away started hooking everything back up to me and told my wife that beings I showed life they had to . GOD breathed life back into my body and completely restored my brain and body , the doctors were baffled and one of them said it was a miracle. I wanted to let you know that JESUS IS REAL GOD IS REAL and I don’t know your situation but I do know that if you completely surrender to JESUS and give HIM your heart and believe HE CAN RESTORE YOUR LEGS BACK TO YOU. There is zero doubt in my mind if you put your trust in JESUS and believe in HIM. John 3 vs 16-18

It's crazy how most people really take their mobility for granted. If you can walk on your two legs... GET OUT THERE!!! Thank every day you're alive. Thank every day you can WALK!!
Hang in there, Bubba. I'm slowly losing my legs over time to Multiple Sclerosis. Not too bad yet, but on that road... every chance I get I'm out there. It ain't easy but I'm doing my best to stave off the inevitable for as long as I can. ✌️

Xander, during your Yukon trip, you mentioned that there are some truly amazing people in the world-but I don’t think you realize you’re one of them. As a labor and delivery nurse, a job I truly love but have started to feel less passionate about over the years, your videos have inspired me to combine my work with an old dream of traveling. Thank you for showing us the beauty of the world and reminding me to dream again!

I have a degenerate eye disease. It is going to take my vision, and although I've slowed the progression down a lot, I still only have a few years of vision left. And believe it or not, its what got me into backpacking. I wanted to see the world, and experience its natural beauty before I can't anymore. There are someplaces I know I'll never be able to visit in the time I have left, but I am grateful for your videos because I can at least experience those places through you. Thank you, dude, and keep living your dream. Enjoy every second! You've earned it.

2024 was my year of fully understanding i had a huge problem with alcohol and addiction. The last 6 months have been a cycle of sobriety and relapse. Some relapses were more graceful than others. During these past 6 months I found your channel one sober night, lying in bed feeling crushingly hopeless and anxious. Didnt even know u had struggled with addiction and went sober until i had watched a good few videos.

I trekked the Annapurna circuit 35 years ago... It was the highlight of my world travels. It took us 20 days from Pokhara and absolutely loved the experience. As you mentioned there are regular village around the circuit and the pathway is the major connection between these villages. After 20 day we got very sick of Dahl Bart the traditional villiage lentil meals served everywhere... We discovered some hot springs up there on the circuit which was great for aching leg muscles ... The final 12 steps up to and into the ABC BASE CAMP was an amazing sense of achievement as everywhere by that stage require 3 full breathes of the thin air t every step. Too be honest I thought the challenge of the Annapurna circuit was much easier than hiking in my own country of Australia... And we carried all our own gear (we did not wuss out and let the Sherpa carry out gear. ) The most dangerous issue throughout the trek was the unexpected arrival of the donkey Caravans which head tup and down the mountain. I think they were smacked on the bum at a village Downhil somewhere and they headed up unsupervised until they get to their destination. Since the pathway is not wide enough for a donkey and a back packer to pass each other, we had to keep out wits about us to ensure that the donkey Caravans did not knock us off the mountain.
Even now, 35 years later that trop was life changing and I remember the trek with great fondness and of all of my life's adventures, I look at the Annapurna circuit to be a life highlight .... And the memories of those mountains in the morning sunrise or sunset was stunning..... I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

Thank you for this amazing and emotional video.
I am writing this message with tears in my eyes.
Something has truly touched me in this video of yours.
I was 10 when my father passed away and soon after I mostly lost my connection to nature. (I am now 32).
Some years back I started walking with my friend, which turned into hikes quite soon.
Soon after we were already staying nights in the forest.
This was performing though, 30km walks on a day etc.
I have watched your videos for some time now and have absorbed some of the great knowledge and insights you have on life and outdoors.
This has made that I now mostly go nature alone and meditate and take in everything that nature has to offer.
Next step is to follow your footsteps and go solo camping overnight in a forest/nature.
TLDR; You have taught me a lot and keep doing so.
Don't ever change who you are and accept yourself however flawed you may be, since it's the best and only version of you.
We only get to live once in this awesome planet of ours, lets experience the life to the fullest and help each other out, if humanly possible.
With great love ❤your fan from Finland.

Xander, my dude, that was an excellent video and a joy to watch. Also, so many stars in the dark skies there - and a comet at 28:00! You've mentioned your prior addictions before and it's excellent that you've overcome them, and also clear from comments on your videos that you've inspired others to take a turn to improve themselves. It's obvious from your ability to portage heavy canoes and gear over some long trails that you're very fit, and I don't know how fit you were when you were misusing alcohol etc. but to get into that kind of shape is a great achievement in itself. I thought you were mid-to-late-20s so to find that you're mid-30s is even more impressive. To take that to the level where you can hike at high altitude (though fitness isn't the only factor and some fit people just can't do altitude) and produce excellent videos with humbleness and humility is a testament to how far you've come. Happy New Year to you!

I remember when you first told your followers about your sobriety. I was so proud of you. I’m 74 and have been sober 15 years. One day at a time young man. I’ve been doing outdoor stuff for 60 years and still go out on my own. I’ve been fighting cancer for 4 years but I do not let it stop me. You are such an inspiration for me.

    Very well done!
Recounting your personal story of rock bottom and journey to recovery along the epic hike through these mountains added something very special to it.
When I was in my early 30s I wanted to hike in the Himalayan Mountains. I have always had a need for adventure and I love traveling. Unfortunately, I married a man who wanted none of that. I just didn’t realize it until after we were married. I talked him into visiting the Andes, Cuzco, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. I hoped he would see the mountains and be drawn to want to climb them. He wasn’t inspired by them. He didn’t enjoy the trip or the adventure of it. I loved it and wanted more. That was 30 years ago, but I still remember wanting to go on those grand
adventures. I think it may be an ADHD thing to need such adventure.
I’m divorced after 21 years married. Now I’m getting to live out more of my adventures.
Thank you for sharing the journey with us and letting us/me live vicariously through you. I was spellbound every moment of it.
May you be blessed to continue living out your dreams and adventures.

Xander, this was beautiful. I felt compelled to leave a comment for you and anyone taking the time to read through the inspiration that is typically found in your comments section. We all love you, man. The video was wonderful, and to take in the views of God's beautiful creation in this one were nothing short of astounding. But what's even more awe-inspiring is your journey. To see grace and redemption in clear view. To hear it flowing from your heart. I hadn't fully realized when I started watching your videos in 2020 that we were so early into your journey on UA-cam, and in the midst of your journey in life. Thanks for allowing us into this side of your ride. To inspire hope and courage in the face of the challenges that life can bring is one of God's greatest gifts that we are blessed to share. I was taken captive by the way that you woke up each morning on this trip, especially while camping in the midst of those giants. Looking through eyes filled with such hope, wonder, and gratitude. Though most of us aren't waking up each morning amongst the mountains that take our breath away, I do hope and pray that each of you might still be able to see the beauty of what life has for you. The gifts that God has blessed you with. And even in the midst of a season of sickness or needing to slow down, that you'd continue taking one more step each day to keep moving forward. I found this to be a powerful video in recognizing the impact of your two journeys colliding right in front of our eyes.
    God bless you all! 🙏✝❤

    Hey Xander,
Watching this was an absolute joy. The storytelling, cinematography, and music were nothing short of phenomenal. There were so many moments where I found myself thinking, “How on earth did he shoot that?”
This video, like so much of your work, has sparked my own wanderlust-making me want to get out there, explore the world, and experience more of what it has to offer (hopefully soon!).
It’s also given me the nudge I needed to start documenting more of my own journey. Your approach reminds me not to sweat the small details but to dive in and just make it happen.
Thank you for being such a huge inspiration. I can’t wait to see what you create next!
